1996 Chevy Astro LT for sale by owner. Van has the 4.3 Vortec V6, 4 speed automatic transmission, and full time All Wheel Drive. Vehicle is built on a truck chassis and is a true workhorse. It runs and shifts strong. The odometer shows 223,000 miles. The transmission was replaced in late 2011, then the transfer case in early 2012. Both parts were salvaged from a much lower mileage vehicle and have performed thus far with no problems. Engine is original, runs strong, doesn't leak or burn oil. We have put several new parts on the vehicle within the last year, including rebuilt front suspension, front and rear brakes, fuel pump, fuel filter, water pump, radiator flush and fill, and a few other things too numerous to mention. We have kept most receipts.
Van has four captains chairs and a full length third row seat. Power windows, locks, driver's seat, tilt, cruise, AM/FM CD with powerful sound, all of which work. Air conditioner gets cold, heat gets hot, but the front blower is not working on all speeds. Rear air and heat work and rear fan works fine. Sliding passenger door has a gouge in the sheet metal from swiping a post at a drive-in bank. Door opens and closes fine from inside and out. Rear lift gate and dutch doors all open close fine. Paint is good all over with a few small dings. Interior is in good condition but needs some cleaning.
Vehicle is priced well below Kelley Blue Books lowest private party value with mileage stated and fair condition which we feel best describes this van due to the damaged door, nicks, and overall wear and tear.
Vehicle is located in rural Crittenden Co. KY outside of Marion. Get in contact with me for an appointment to come see it. Van is advertised on other venues at a higher price or best offer. Listing on ebay as another means of advertising.
Please submit any questions you may have. Thank you.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray priced from $51,995*
Fri, 26 Apr 2013After months of speculation, Chevrolet has finally revealed the official starting price of the 2014 Corvette Stingray. The base MSRP for the 450-horsepower Stingray Coupe will be $51,995, while the Stingray Convertible will go for $56,995 (*both prices include a $995 destination fee). This means that the price increase from 2013 to 2014 is just $1,400 for the coupe and $2,395 for the convertible - pretty modest increases considering the upgrade in specifications. Of course, neither price accounts for the sort of dealer markup that might grace early C7 window stickers, especially since less than a third of all Chevrolet dealers will be allocated Corvette models to sell at the car's launch.
Now, these prices are for the base car, so if you're wondering how much a fully loaded Stingray will run, Chevy has given us a good indication of that as well. The coupe we saw on display at the Detroit Auto Show (shown above), for example, would run $73,360 including options such as the $2,800 Z51 Performance Package, $2,495 competition sport seats and the $1,795 Magnetic Ride Control option - just to name a few. Stepping up to the 3LT trim level that brings a full leather interior will run an extra $8,005 over the base price.
While $20,000 in options may seem like a lot, this "as-tested" price still has the C7 competitively priced against rival coupes like the Porsche 911 and Nissan GT-R. Speaking of price comparisons, Chevrolet also points out that the C7 Stingray Z51 costs $2,200 less than the C6 Grand Sport while delivering better acceleration (0-60 mph in less than four seconds) and improved track performance (including more than 1 g in cornering).
NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall
Wed, 13 Mar 2013
The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.
"Turbo" Chevrolet Camaro is a 700-HP fantasy car come to life [w/video]
Thu, 07 Feb 2013For a concept car built to promote an animated movie about a snail that wants to go racing, this thing ain't half bad. The outsized monster you see before you started life as a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and then went through a big-time Hollywood makeover before being positioned on the Chevrolet stand here in Chicago.
This 2013 "Turbo" Camaro Coupe is getting the promotion machine ratcheted up for a new DreamWorks tale by the name of, you guessed it, Turbo. Coming this summer, the movie will follow one snail's quest to become a race driver worthy of making the cut at the Indy 500. Like many DreamWorks vehicles before it, we're guessing that the petrolhead snail will star in a movie that adults (especially racing fans) with have no trouble watching with their kids. Check out the trailer below to see if you agree.
As for the car, we're told that it is "instrumental" in transforming Turbo from snail into racer. Helping the beastly pony car in this mighty task, is an ankle-cracking front splitter matched by a ungodly huge rear wing out back, a COPO hood and a supercharged (yes, supercharged) V8 engine making more than 700 horsepower. 24-inch wheels all the way around - 10-inches wide in front and 15-inches wide in back - should allow the "Turbo" Camaro to hook up with ease, as well.
