2012 Chevy Volt Premium 4dr Hatchback (1.4l 4cyl CVT Hybrid- Electric) less than 10K miles
$38,000 plus new (bought new in Costa Mesa, CA at Connell Chevrolet) Super low 9,810 miles. Still has the new car smell we all love. This is a Gas saving machine!! So far, this car has posted a lifetime average 153 MPG since new!! It increases every day. I have only put gas in it one time so far in the 1,626 trouble-free miles that I have personally driven this Volt. The kicker is that I still have over 1/2 tank and 118 miles left in gas since my first fill-up (see pictures). I love passing gas stations. As a bonus, you can use the carpool lane with only one occupant. I bought this car with 8,184 miles on the odometer as a salvage and have returned it back to as new condition using genuine GM parts. I have pics of the car before and I think you may agree that it should not have been a salvage. It was hit lightly in the front so it was a very easy fix. It needed only the Hood, Front Bumper, Drivers side Airbag, Knee Bag and some other sorted small parts replaced. I have all receipts to verify. Everything works as it left from the factory! Here are the details as delivered from the factory: Drivetrain: 1.4L I-4 Gas / Electric Hybrid Engine Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission Exterior: Black Exterior Spoiler 17" x 7.0" 5-Spoke Polished Aluminum Wheels Interior: Loaded with Premium Trim Package Leather Steering Wheel Trim Black Leather Interior Heated Front Seats Height Adjustable Drivers and Passenger Seats Fold-Down Rear Seats Front and Rear Console Front and Rear Cup Holders Front and Rear Floor Mats AM / FM / CD / DVD / MP3 / XM Bose Audio Air Conditioning Convenience Accessories: Power Windows Power Door Locks Power Exterior Mirrors Push Button Start Keyless Entry Remote Start Turn-by-Turn Navigation System Cruise Control Tilt and Telescopic Steering Wheel Steering Wheel Audio Controls External Temperature Display Compass Auxiliary Audio Input and USB with External Media Control Universal Remote Transmitter (for garage door or security system) Dual Illuminating Vanity Mirrors Safety Features: 4-Wheel ABS StabiliTrak Traction Control Back-Up Camera Front and Rear Parking Sensors Tire Pressure Monitoring Bluetooth Wireless Data Link for Hands-Free Phone Remote Anti-Theft Alarm System Dual Front Airbags Dual Front Side Impact Airbags Dual Front Knee Airbags Front and Rear Head Curtain Airbags Passenger Airbag Occupant Sensing Deactivation Rear Door Child Safety Locks On-Star Roadside Assistance (subscription required) Misc: Original Owners Manual 110 Volt Home Charger Non-Factory Items: Current CA HOV Stickers (see pics) Previous owner tinted the Drivers and Passenger side windows to match the rear factory tint (see pics) Please contact me for any other additional information you may need. Corvette Stolen In Detroit Returned To Owner After 33 Years
Wed, Jun 25 2014A Detroit man had his stolen Corvette returned 33 years after it disappeared while parked on one of Detroit's main drags, according to ABC 7. The last time George Talley saw his 1979 Corvette was on a July day in 1981, when it disappeared from its parking spot on Jefferson Avenue in Detroit. He had given up hope of ever seeing his car again, until a phone call from AAA brought his sporty ride home. Authorities had come across a Corvette with a questionable VIN in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. When they ran the number Talley's stolen car report came up. The car is still in pretty good shape and only has 47,000 miles on the odometer. Talley wasn't sure how he could get the car back home, but General Motors stepped in and agreed to cover the cost of bringing the 'Vette home. Talley has always had a passion for Detroit-made muscle cars. "I've always liked Corvettes. It was attractive. The ladies like 'em," Talley told ABC 7.
A car writer's year in new vehicles [w/video]
Thu, Dec 18 2014Christmas is only a week away. The New Year is just around the corner. As 2014 draws to a close, I'm not the only one taking stock of the year that's we're almost shut of. Depending on who you are or what you do, the end of the year can bring to mind tax bills, school semesters or scheduling dental appointments. For me, for the last eight or nine years, at least a small part of this transitory time is occupied with recalling the cars I've driven over the preceding 12 months. Since I started writing about and reviewing cars in 2006, I've done an uneven job of tracking every vehicle I've been in, each year. Last year I made a resolution to be better about it, and the result is a spreadsheet with model names, dates, notes and some basic facts and figures. Armed with this basic data and a yen for year-end stories, I figured it would be interesting to parse the figures and quantify my year in cars in a way I'd never done before. The results are, well, they're a little bizarre, honestly. And I think they'll affect how I approach this gig in 2015. {C} My tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015 it'll be as high as 73. Let me give you a tiny bit of background about how automotive journalists typically get cars to test. There are basically two pools of vehicles I drive on a regular basis: media fleet vehicles and those available on "first drive" programs. The latter group is pretty self-explanatory. Journalists are gathered in one location (sometimes local, sometimes far-flung) with a new model(s), there's usually a day of driving, then we report back to you with our impressions. Media fleet vehicles are different. These are distributed to publications and individual journalists far and wide, and the test period goes from a few days to a week or more. Whereas first drives almost always result in a piece of review content, fleet loans only sometimes do. Other times they serve to give context about brands, segments, technology and the like, to editors and writers. So, adding up the loans I've had out of the press fleet and things I've driven at events, my tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015, it'll be as high as 73. At one of the buff books like Car and Driver or Motor Trend, reviewers might rotate through five cars a week, or more. I know that number sounds high, but as best I can tell, it's pretty average for the full-time professionals in this business.
Safety group pans GM’s new Marketplace in-dash shopping
Wed, Dec 6 2017When it comes to our cars, is the Internet of Things a godsend? Or a hidden menace that will create more problems than it will solve? On the same day General Motors announced it will equip newer-model cars with its in-dash Marketplace e-commerce app, a prominent safety group was shooting it down. National Safety Council President Deborah Hersman tells Bloomberg the technology will only contribute to distracted driving and hurt efforts to stem the tide of rising auto fatalities, which grew 5.6 percent to more than 37,000 in the U.S. in 2016. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says distracted driving was responsible for 3,477 fatalities and 391,000 injuries in 2015, the most recent year for which it has data. "There's nothing about this that's safe," Hersman told Bloomberg. "If this is why they want WiFi in the car, we're going to see fatality numbers go up even higher than they are now." Marketplace, developed with IBM, will allow drivers — or more often, one hopes, their passengers — to order coffee or food, find gas stations and reserve hotel rooms from their dashboard screens. The technology is set to be uploaded automatically to nearly 1.9 million GM vehicles model-year 2017 and later that are equipped with WiFi hotspots and compatible systems. By the end of 2018, about 4 million Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles will be equipped with Marketplace. The app will debut with a limited number of participating retailers, including TGI Fridays, Shell, Exxon Mobil and Starbucks, with more likely to join later. Online retail giant Amazon is also partnering with automakers such as Ford to bring e-commerce capabilities inside the car through its Alexa personal assistant. While convenience is nice, one other thing is becoming clear as the IoT wedges its way into our cars: It's taking aim at some decidedly first-world problems.Related Video: Image Credit: GM Buick Cadillac Chevrolet GM GMC Technology Infotainment in-car entertainment marketplace e-commerce
