Recently purchased a larger vehicle for towing, so we are selling this 2000 Chevy Venture LS minivan.

This is a very clean good running van which was used occasionaly by my wife, we bought it at 91227 miles, and it now has only 111875 in the three and a half years we drove it. So about 5900 mi. per year. That includes one 2000 mi round trip to Florida.

It is currently on ther road, inspected in PA until March 2014 and is still being driven occasionally.

The van has no problems except the fuel gauge, which has never worked since we bought it.  We just push the odometer and get gas at 250-300 miles, but range is about 420 miles.

The front wheel bearings, brake calipers and pads were changed about a year ago.  A transmission line replaced around the same time. I replaced the alternator also.

A few weeks ago I replaced the starter, only because I didn't like how it sounded.  The old one still worked.

The interior is clean and seats are in great shape.  The front floor mats are a little grungy, but they did their job and the carpet is still nearly perfect.

Headliner and dash are clean and have no cracks, tears or marks. All five seats in the back fold down or can be removed entirely for the trips to Home Depot.

This model has the self leveling suspension feature, with a small compressor in the left rear.

The engine runs fine and the trans has no issues.  The fluid was replaced when I replaced the line, which was rusty and started to leak.

I have the clear PA title on-hand, and require we go to the notary before it leaves.

KBB places this vehicle at the stated mileage between $3396 fair and $4096 excellent, but I want to actually sell it soon so my price is only $2995.

Please check out all the photos and message me if you have any questions.

Thanks, Randy

GM to squeeze out more production capacity for midsize trucks

Tue, May 26 2015

General Motors was predicting a strong showing for the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon before they debuted, and demand among dealers for the midsize trucks even exceeded company's expectations. The positive situation has left GM with a problem, though: finding ways to increase capacity for the pickups at the Wentzville Assembly plant in Missiouri. With a third shift already running, GM has continued to look for ways to build just a few more of the trucks at the plant. The company has plans to hire as many as 1,000 more workers for the Saturday and Sunday shifts to construct an additional 2,000 pickups a month, according to unnamed insiders at the factory speaking to Automotive News. The little adjustments even extend to getting rid of an unpaid break to add 18 minute of assembly time over the course of a day, which equals about 3,500 more vehicles a year. All of this effort comes because the trucks are in such high demand. According to GM's figures, the company has delivered a combined 35,720 units of the Colorado and Canyon from January through April 2015, and the Chevy was the fastest-selling truck in the US for the previous three months. In May, it spent an average of just 12 days in showrooms before being snapped up. And even better for the company, 43 percent of these buyers came from other brands. According to Automotive News, the most popular trade-ins have included the Ford F-150, Toyota Tacoma, and Dodge Dakota. Related Video:

Next Chevy Silverado could get this built-in tailgate step

Thu, Feb 2 2017

General Motors just received patent approval for a tailgate step in a pickup bed. And given the timing, don't be surprised if you see this on the upcoming 2019 Silverado pickup (not the mention its GMC Sierra twin), expected to arrive in late 2018. According to the patent, granted in December of last year, the whole mechanism is housed in the tailgate assemble. The magic happens when a portion of the top half of the tailgate swings down and a step folds out. There's also a handle that locks into position to help climb up into the bed. As trucks get bigger and taller over the years, it gets harder and harder to access the cargo bed. Ford's solution with the 2009 F-150 was a step that slides out from the end of the tailgate. Back then, Chevy made an ill-advised ad highlighting the feature for Ford. And while Howie Long mocked the F-150's "man step" Ford saw almost a third of its trucks with the option in the first year. The GM design seems to improve on Ford's idea as it appears to be wider and has a back to the lower step. That is, you don't have to worry about stepping through the ladder-rung design as on the F-150. Ford's tailgate step later spread to the F Super Duty, and other cargo access assists have proliferated through the truck world. On the most recent redesign, the Chevrolet Silverado took a trick from the Avalanche and added cutouts to the corners of the rear bumper that act as a foothold. Ford also offers a deployable side step, Chevrolet has running boards that scoot rearward with a kick of the boot, and Ram offers fixed wheel-to-wheel side rails. Nissan is in on the game too, with an optional folding step that tucks under the rear bumper. We don't expect Chevrolet to comment on when or if we'll see this feature in the showrooms. But given that engineers are already hard at work on the next Silverado and the timing of this patent lines right up with the new truck's development cycle, we'll be disappointed if this patent stays in the file cabinet.
