2005 Chevy Chevrolet Trailblazer Ext Lifted 3 Rows / 7 Passenger Off Road Fun! on 2040-cars
Glendale, Arizona, United States
I have owned this truck since 6/22/2011, so just under 3 years. I have put about 48,000 miles on it in that time. It works great, looks unique & presentable, and I would drive it anywhere. I am selling due to not needing such a large vehicle anymore...we bought a bmw 325i to replace this.
$5000 This Trailblazer is a 2005, with 178,832 miles. This is an EXT...so it has the somewhat uncommon THIRD ROW SEATING. Has the 4.2 liter inline 6 cylinder Vortec. I have current tags on it and I did an emissions test back in november (i have the registration but can't find the emission printout--actually, the MVD may have taken it when I got the registration). No trouble codes, runs and drives perfect. There are a few MINOR issues: 1. The stepper motor on the tachometer and battery gauge are worn out and those two gauges frequently get stuck and do not read correctly. Speedometer, temperature, fuel level, oil pressure all work fine. 2. Few dings in the paint...but it looks pretty good...not like your typical Arizona car, the clear coat is there and it is shiny. There are some rock chips on the front edge of the hood, headlights could use one of those resurfacing kits, and the truck could probably use a good washing and wax. (The interior was just shampoo'd and steam cleaned). 3. I have the front bumper cover but it needs to be painted if you want to put it back on. I removed it so the aux lights could be mounted and to gain a little more nose clearance. 4. The air conditioning works & blows cold, but it is not extreme cold, I suspect it could use a recharge. That's it, everything else works! Radio, cruise control, 4x4 hi/lo, AWD, all electric windows, front and rear wipers, all lights, the rear struts to hold up the tailgate, and the remote key fob...all of it is there and works like it should. Also, some upgrades have been done to the truck: * 3" suspension lift kit. * 31" BFG Off road tires WITH full size matching spare *Custom K&N cold air intake *Custom Exhaust - Flowmaster 40 series 1 into 2, with custom done dual exhaust with one exit on each rear corner. This was shop done, not a hack job. The Flowmaster DOES add a little growl, so be aware (it is not obnoxious however). *Truck has POWERLITE limited slip rear end. *KC Off road lights, wired to the stock fog light dash switch. *3 gauge pod mounted on a pillar (gauges are removed, but it is there and ready for you to put in whatever you want). *New battery less than a year ago (Interstate Battery) *New rear door lifts about 6 months ago. *4 of the 6 ignition coil boots have been replaced with new. *New exhaust manifold less than a year ago *New brake pads and new front rotors about 1 year ago. *New spark plugs 8 months ago. *New serpentine belt 1 year ago. *Probably a couple hundred dollars worth of towing balls/bars are included! Title is in hand, regular/non-salvage, no liens. Truck is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to void the auction should it sell locally. $200 non-refundable deposit via PayPal within 24 hours of auction close. The rest in CASH upon pickup. Vehicle must be picked up within 10 days of auction close in Glendale, AZ 85308. NO SHIPPING!! |

GM announces 3 new recalls affecting 1.7M vehicles in North America [w/video]
Mon, Mar 17 2014Still embroiled in the ongoing ignition switch recall, General Motors announced today three more discrete recalls, affecting a grand total of 1,546,900 vehicles in the US. The Detroit News reports that some 1.7 million vehicles are affected overall in North America. The first and largest of the trio of new recalls concerns some 1.18-million Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia crossovers from the 2008-2013 model years, Chevrolet Traverse from 2009-2013 (pictured above) and Saturn Outlook vehicles from 2008-2010. All of the crossover utilities may have an issue with the wiring harness for their seat-mounted side airbags. Apparently, the vehicles are equipped with a Service Air Bag warning light that, if ignored, "will eventually result in the non-deployment of the side impact restraints." Those restraints include the side airbags, a front-center airbag if the vehicle is so equipped and seatbelt pretensioners. Dealers of affected vehicles will be instructed to remove driver and passenger side airbag wiring harness connectors, and then "splice and solder the wires together." The second recall affects 303,000 Chevrolet Express (pictured right) and GMC Savana vans from model years 2009-2014, and with gross vehicle weights under 10,000 pounds. Said vehicles do not comply with a head impact requirement for unrestrained occupants, and will need a reworking of the instrument panel material to be sent back on the road. It doesn't sound as though there's a quick fix for this one, as the GM press release states: "Unsold vehicles have been placed on a stop delivery until development of the solution has been completed and parts are available." Finally, the third recall affects 63,900 Cadillac XTS luxury sedans from model years 2013 and 2014. A brake booster pump may be susceptible to corrosion by way of the relay, potentially causing and electrical short, overheating, melting of plastic components and even engine fires. GM says it is aware of two engine fires in unsold XTS models and two cases of melted parts. Repairs for the issues affecting the XTS have not not mentioned by GM in the release. The Detroit News is also reporting that along with news of the triple-recall, GM is taking a $300-million credit to help pay for the repair costs, and to deal with the ongoing costs associated with the ignition switch recall. In an attempt to explain just what GM has been doing in the face of these very serious issues, newly minted CEO Mary Barra has addressed the issues in a new video.
Autoblog's guilty pleasure cars
Tue, Mar 10 2015Guilty pleasures are part of life – don't even try to pretend like you don't have one (or two, or six). In the non-automotive space, this could come down to that secret playlist in your iPhone of songs you'll only listen to when you're alone; or think of that one TV show you really do love, but won't admit to your friends. I've got plenty, and so do you. Going back to cars, here's a particularly juicy one for me: several years ago, I had a mad crush on the very last iteration of the Cadillac DTS. Oh yes, the front-wheel-drive, Northstar V8-powered sofa-on-wheels that was the last remaining shred of the elderly-swooning days of Cadillac's past. Every time I had the chance to drive one, I was secretly giddy. Don't hate me, okay? These days, the DTS is gone, but I've still got a mess of other cars that hold a special place in my heart. And in the spirit of camaraderie, I've asked my other Autoblog editors to tell me some of their guilty pleasure cars, as well – Seyth Miersma, as you can see above, has a few choice emotions to share about the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Read on to find out what cars make us secretly happy. Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG This decadent convertible is the epitome of the guilty pleasure. It's big, powerful, fairly heavy and it's richly appointed inside and out. It's a chocolate eclair with the three-pointed star on the hood. Given my druthers, I'd take the SL65 AMG, which delivers 621 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. That output is borderline absurd for this laid-back convertible. I don't care. You don't need dessert. Sometimes you just crave it. The SL line is about the feel you get on the road. The roof is open. The air, sun and engine sounds all embrace you. It's the same dynamic you could have experienced in a Mercedes a century ago, yet the SL gives you the most modern of luxuries. An Airscarf feature that warms my neck and shoulders through a vent embedded in the seat? Yes, please. Sure, it's an old-guy car. Mr. Burns and Lord Grantham are probably too young and hip for an SL65. I don't care. This is my guilty pleasure. Release the hounds. – Greg Migliore Senior Editor Ford Flex I drove my first Flex in 2009 when my mother let me borrow hers for the summer while I was away at college. The incredibly spacious interior made moving twice that summer a breeze, and the 200-mile trips up north were quite comfortable.
Recharge Wrap-up: NEDC's NOx problems, autonomous Chevy Volts
Mon, Dec 7 2015The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) found a significant difference in NOx emissions in Euro 6 diesel cars in NEDC and WLTC testing. While 88 percent of the cars tested met emissions standards for NEDC, NOx emissions averaged five times higher under WLTC, with only 27 percent of vehicles under the limit. WLTC is considered to be a more realistic driving cycle, using hot starts and factoring a higher top speed as well as harder and more frequent accelerations than the NEDC. Employees will be able to use a carsharing app to reserve a car, which will then drive itself to the set destination. The project will allow GM to collect important data and experience to help the company more quickly develop autonomous driving technology. The lithium-ion batteries used to power the EV were recycled from other Renault EVs. With the electric Trafic, Carwatt – a company that converts vehicles to use electric power – aims to demonstrate the "circular economy" of batteries, which can provide more value through a longer lifecycle. Read more in the press release below. Carwatt presents a unique automotive application for second-life batteries from electric vehicles. On the sidelines of the COP21 summit, in the Solutions Gallery running from 2 to 9 December 2015 in Le Bourget near Paris, Carwatt and its partners —Renault, Paris City Council, BPI France, the Ales Ecole des Mines Engineering School, and the Bobigny Business Campus — are showing a very special electric Renault Trafic. This prototype vehicle, the only one of kind in the world, is powered by second-life lithium-ion batteries recycled from Renault electric cars. Circular economy at work with electric vehicles When, over time, the batteries of a Renault electric vehicle fall the performance threshold specified for their initial automotive power duty (around 75% of initial capacity), they can still provide valuable service in "second-life" applications before end-of-life disposal at a recycling centre. Experiments are already under way on power storage applications, for example.
