4 Sale is our 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS 4X4 , this truck is in good used condition , no dents worth mentioning , no rust either , interior is clean and in good shape for the year , Truck cleans up very nice and paint still has good shine . High mileage of 189415 from a lot of highway travel , but the motor runs GREAT, Transmission shifts perfectly , AC blows ice cold, the 4x4 system works great !!  and most everything works exactly as it should , This is a great vehicle for the money and with a few $$ towards a few needed repairs , this truck should perform well for a many more years . We bought this truck back in 2007 or so and it had around 59000 miles on it when we got it . We have driven it and enjoyed it for the past 7 years with really no issues besides your normal maintenance type items . It has run with Mobil 1 synthetic oil since the day I got it ( I use this in all my vehicles ) and all services and maintenance has been performed when due and was needed .Brakes are in good shape and it stops as it should , tires have about 70% of the tread left and this vehicle was aligned less than a year ago . Most recently all the transmission cooler lines have been replaced , this was an inherent problem with the trailblazer , the factory routing of these lines caused them to rot out over time ,and at 160,000 miles thats exactly what happened but they they have been completely replaced ( at a cost of near $600 ) so this is a none issue for the new owner of this vehicle .

Now I will listsome of the repairs or items that will need attention

As I mentioned the truck runs and drives fine however there is a bearing noise coming from the drive train that will need to be repaired , If you have ever heard what a bad wheel bearing & hub sounds like then you will understand the noise I am trying to explain . I Have replaced BOTH front wheel bearings and hubs on this vehicle about a year ago and the noise I am describing is not coming from there . On a lift with the truck in gear and wheels turning the noise is coming from the tail of the transmission and I was told it was the output shaft bearing that has gone bad , not a big deal but I wanted to mention it to any possible buyer as I believe in being totally honest . This should be a relatively inexpensive repair and once it is complete it will drive perfectly and noise free !!

The other items are somewhat minor but again I am trying to cover everything , the radio / cd player in the dash works good but half the lights on the radio do not work

The Air Bag light on the dash comes on every so often ( seems to be when its raining or gets wet ) but its never caused an issue for me

There are no check engine lights on at all , battery is pretty much brand new , The motor is tight and basically leak free ( does not leave any spots on the ground ) radiator and antifreeze has been flushed and serviced , rear wheel bearings and seals all replaced and rear fluid flushed and refilled , front struts were replaced in 2011

Thats about all I can think of at this time . Overall this is a good truck that needs some relatively minor repairs to make it 100% but of course keep in mind this is a 14 year old vehicle with mileage so the truck will be sold AS IS WHERE IS with NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED , WRITTEN or IMPLIED

This vehicle has been with us for 7 years and we have enjoyed it for that time period , it is now for sale because it has been replaced with a 2010 Dodge Journey we purchased back in October

Price set for quick sale ,If you have any questions or require more information never hesitate to ask

Good Luck

GM recalling 521,817 cars in two campaigns

Tue, May 12 2015

General Motors is issuing two, separate recalls covering a total of 521,817 vehicles worldwide. The larger campaign covers 468,887 units of the 2011-2012 Chevrolet Malibu. Specifically, 437,045 of these are in the US, and the rest are outside the country. In these sedans, a steel cable that connects the seat belt to the vehicle can fatigue and separate. GM knows of 36 claims about the problem but only one minor injury. According to The Detroit News, this happened when a taxi driver hit his head. To fix things, dealers will replace the "outboard lap mounting bracket," which will move the tensioner rearward. They'll also inspect and if necessary replace the steel cable and lap pretensioner. In the second campaign, 52,930 examples the 2015 Chevy Colorado and 2015 GMC Canyon have seat frame attachment hooks that were installed incorrectly during assembly. GM hasn't received any reports of crashes, injuries, or fatalities about this problem. Dealers will inspect the affected trucks and repair as necessary. GM spokesperson Alan Adler told Autoblog that he didn't yet have a specific date when affected owners would receive official mailings about either of these recalls. GM Statement General Motors is recalling 48,309 2015 model year Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon midsize pickup trucks in the U.S. because certain seat frame attachment hooks were not properly attached to the vehicle body during assembly. Dealers will inspect the potentially affected seats for proper installation and repair if necessary. GM knows of no crashes, injuries or fatalities related to this condition. The total vehicle population of the recall is 52,930 including 4,620 vehicles sold in Canada. General Motors is recalling 437,045, 2011-2012 model year Chevrolet Malibus in the U.S. because the flexible steel cable that connects the safety belt to the vehicle can fatigue and separate over time as a result of occupant movement in the seat. Dealers will replace the outboard lap mounting bracket to relocate the tensioner slightly rearward. Dealers will inspect the cable and, if necessary, replace the lap pretensioner. GM knows of 36 claims, no crashes or fatalities and one minor injury reportedly related to the condition. The total vehicle population of the recall is 468,887 including Canada, Mexico and exports.

Top horsepower-per-dollar cars in 2017

Tue, Feb 17 2015

Bang for the buck. That quasi-scientific statistic is bandied about by motor heads everywhere from classrooms to barrooms, though the truth of the matter is that it's exceedingly complex to measure. A fair performance-per-dollar index would include something like cross-referencing MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) with point-to-point times on a track or driving route, which is obviously hard to do comprehensively. But, for the sheer joy of talking about cars and playing with a big spreadsheet, there's always the horsepower-per-dollar index, which is more straightforward, albeit hilariously flawed. There are vagaries even with this simple formula, of course: MSRP for vehicles can change at a moment's notice, to say nothing of the bottom-line shifting that happens with local deals or showroom negotiation. For this list we're running with the straight MSRP wherever possible, and as recently reported as we can get it. All the vehicles on this list are 2017 models, and all trims are reported where the lowest price and differing power levels intersect. Some choices were made for personal preference and some for sanity, avoiding things like all 48 trim levels of the Ford Transit, all with the same horsepower). If this list were a simple top ten, or even a top fifty, you'd be bored to tears with all the red, white and blue that is represented. Following perfectly with conventional wisdom, American cars really do lead the world where hp/$ is concerned. So, for the sake of variety (and the sheer joy of seeing a minivan 'win' one round of this thing) I've sorted out some top five and bottom five lists for broad power categories. Let's dive in. Less Than 100 Horsepower Okay, okay, this is hardly a category we'll grant you. But we've often tried to click off all the sub-100-hp cars on sale in the US, and making this list gave us an excuse. It also illustrates that none of these smallish vehicles bring cheap horsepower to the table - for that you'll need a motorcycle. The segment-leading Chevy Spark (above) asks just over $139 for each hp, and that Smart Fortwo Electric Drive has hp on sale for about the same price as its very distant family cousin, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (insert your favorite Smart joke here... we know you want to).

GM follows up Lambda CUV stop-sale with tire recall

Mon, Feb 9 2015

In late January, General Motors announced a stop-sale for about 6,281 examples of the 2015 Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave because of the possibility for the treads cracking on their 18-inch Goodyear Fortera HL tires. At the time, GM said that this would also eventually lead to a safety campaign to repair the problem, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has just published those details. GM's recall covers 5,876 of the three Lambda platform crossovers to replace their tires. According to NHTSA, if the treads crack, there could be a loss of pressure and possible failure. Goodyear already announced its own recall of the tires after internal testing found small tread cracks. The company did not believe this was safety issue, but the problem did put the rubber out of compliance with federal laws. The business's safety campaign covered an estimated 48,512 tires. Of those, around 32,000 were reportedly made for GM to either be fitted to vehicles or sold as replacements. The remainder went to the aftermarket. Goodyear's portion of the recall is expected to begin around February 20. RECALL Subject : Tire Tread Cracking/FMVSS 110 Report Receipt Date: JAN 28, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V044000 Component(s): TIRES Potential Number of Units Affected: 5,876 All Products Associated with this Recall Vehicle Make Model Model Year(s) BUICK ENCLAVE 2015 CHEVROLET TRAVERSE 2015 GMC ACADIA 2015 Details Manufacturer: General Motors LLC SUMMARY: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Buick Enclave vehicles manufactured December 9, 2014, to January 14, 2015, 2015 Chevrolet Traverse vehicles manufactured December 9, 2014, to January 20, 2015, and 2015 GMC Acadia vehicles manufactured December 9, 2014, to January 16, 2015, and all equipped with Goodyear P255/65R18 Fortera HL tires. These vehicles are equipped with tires that may experience tread cracking. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 110, "Tire Selection and Rims and Motor Home/Recreation Vehicle Trailer Load Carrying Capacity Information for Motor Vehicles with a GVWR of 4,536 kilograms (10,000 pounds) or Less." CONSEQUENCE: If the tire treads crack, a loss of tire pressure and possible tire failure may result, increasing the risk of a crash. REMEDY: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the tires that were manufactured within a specific date range, free of charge.
