1991 Chevrolet Suburban DIESEL,RARE 1/2 TON - BEST BODY STYLE EVER!

I truly LOVE this thing(and I honestly wish that I didn't ever have to sell it) but currently I just have tooo many vehicles at home and for sure either this one or my 1996 GMC Diesel pickup that I'm also listing has to go.

This is a life-long Texas SUV. I'm its 3rd.owner and in the past 5 years I've only put like 3k miles on it and it's always done me right!

Mechanically,it runs/drives AWESOME!!!

It has some paint peeling, currently,it needs an ac switch(or possibly a fan blower motor),but rest of ac system is GREAT!

And it needs a few other TYPICAL odds/ends but nothing big(just your average stuff from being 23 years old).

I LOVE these old 6.2's,they are tanks, they will run forever if you treat them right and with this only having 184k mls.on it,it definitely has lots of life left.

For my liking,I add aluminum trim inside instead of the woodgrain(like 1981-1988 year mdl's have) and I also added for my like a very high $ set of American Racing Daisy 200S wheels(these averagely do $2k here on eBay,c 4 yourself).

Also, just a few k mls.ago it had it rear end and transmission rebuilt.

NO RUST REALLY(REMEMBER IT IS A LIFE-LONG TX SUV),but,it foes has typical LITE rust formation around quarter panel seals where they ALL get them(absolutely NO BIG DEAL)!

Last 5 pics.were taken last week, first set of outside pics.were taken 4 years ago-LOOKS THE SAME!

Please only respond IF U R SERIOUS W/$ TO PAY FOR IT AND HONOR MY SELLING TERMS!

If u r a RARE DIESEL guy like me,hen you will love this baby!

Plus,no doubt this AWESOME body style will only go up in value/will always be sought after, thanks for looking!

Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?

Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards

Tue, 27 Nov 2012

Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:

Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face. But Docherty is optimistic and says she has a plan for the brand. We recommend heading over to Ward's for a closer look at the full read.
