THIS IS A CLASSIC CHEVROLET, I BELIEVE THE LONGEST RUNNING SUBURBAN BODY SHELL IN THE MODELS LONG HISTORY.

I HAVE PUT A LOT OF TIME INTO THIS CAR TO MAKE IT ONE OF THE FINEST EXAMPLES AROUND WHILE REMAINING IN THE 'EVERYDAY USABLE' CATEGORY.

I bought this car as only a two owner vehicle. It has been looked after throughout its life and presents as a much younger car.

The vehicle is ready to go with a long list of extras:

Powered by a 350 TBI motor that has been professionally rebuilt less than 30,000 miles go. The drive is via a TH400 transmission, also rebuilt around 25,000 miles ago.

The paint is new along with new A/C clutch, serpentine belt, oil and filter. New brake pads have been installed on the front (from Summit Racing). The body is really good although not a 'show' car, for a nearly 25 year old body you will be impressed!

The interior is in very good condition with only the carpets having a few dirty marks. The A/C runs cold along with the factory installed rear A/C. THE INTERIOR IS 9 OUT OF 10. The dash is not racked and has a new dash pad to protect it. A new antenna has been installed along with a brand new Kenwood KDC-X897 RB CD Bluetooth AHA/Pandora/iHeart USB MP3 with new front and rear speakers in the original mounts (no cutting) . In the trunk is a Kenwood KAC-5001PS amplifier driving a Kenwood KFC-W12PS 12 inch subwoofer.

The original third row seat is present and in great working condition.

Mechanically the car is in a really great condition with extras fitted that are both functional and make the car look extra tough. Fitted this year are a Pro-Comp suspension lift along with new Bilstein shocks and ORD braided brake lines.Pro-Comp 16x10 rims and new BF Goodrich AT tires. New WARN premium manual locking hubs have also been installed

The car has approx 156000 miles (very low for the year) although the dash only shows 105,000 as the speedometer stopped working and a replacement has been installed

THIS CAR IS IN EXTREMELY GOOD CONDITION WITH MORE THAN $5000 SPENT THIS YEAR TO MAKE IT ONE OF THE BEST EXAMPLES OF THIS CLASSIC CHEVROLET AROUND

Everything works, all windows (including the rear tailgate window from the dash and the key) power locks, 4x4, transfer case, power locks - everything!

The bad parts: there is a small dent (about the size of a nickel) that appeared after the re-paint and the carpets need a clean.

A car writer's year in new vehicles [w/video]

Thu, Dec 18 2014

Christmas is only a week away. The New Year is just around the corner. As 2014 draws to a close, I'm not the only one taking stock of the year that's we're almost shut of. Depending on who you are or what you do, the end of the year can bring to mind tax bills, school semesters or scheduling dental appointments. For me, for the last eight or nine years, at least a small part of this transitory time is occupied with recalling the cars I've driven over the preceding 12 months. Since I started writing about and reviewing cars in 2006, I've done an uneven job of tracking every vehicle I've been in, each year. Last year I made a resolution to be better about it, and the result is a spreadsheet with model names, dates, notes and some basic facts and figures. Armed with this basic data and a yen for year-end stories, I figured it would be interesting to parse the figures and quantify my year in cars in a way I'd never done before. The results are, well, they're a little bizarre, honestly. And I think they'll affect how I approach this gig in 2015. {C} My tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015 it'll be as high as 73. Let me give you a tiny bit of background about how automotive journalists typically get cars to test. There are basically two pools of vehicles I drive on a regular basis: media fleet vehicles and those available on "first drive" programs. The latter group is pretty self-explanatory. Journalists are gathered in one location (sometimes local, sometimes far-flung) with a new model(s), there's usually a day of driving, then we report back to you with our impressions. Media fleet vehicles are different. These are distributed to publications and individual journalists far and wide, and the test period goes from a few days to a week or more. Whereas first drives almost always result in a piece of review content, fleet loans only sometimes do. Other times they serve to give context about brands, segments, technology and the like, to editors and writers. So, adding up the loans I've had out of the press fleet and things I've driven at events, my tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015, it'll be as high as 73. At one of the buff books like Car and Driver or Motor Trend, reviewers might rotate through five cars a week, or more. I know that number sounds high, but as best I can tell, it's pretty average for the full-time professionals in this business.

Woodward Dream Cruise Photo Gallery | Classics and American muscle

Sun, Aug 21 2022

The 2022 running of the Woodward Dream Cruise just went down, and we were there from morning to evening drinking in the sweet sights and pre-emissions exhaust fumes. Yes, it’s a little smelly on Woodward Ave. this time of year. Just like always, the Dream Cruise invites all comers to cruise their machines on Woodward from Ferndale, MI to Pontiac, MI. Everybody is invited, but the original intent of the Dream Cruise was to highlight classic American muscle cars. YouÂ’ll see plenty of those in our mega gallery above, but weÂ’ve sprinkled it with a bunch of other vehicle types, such as modern muscle and other intriguing American vehicles. Similar to years past, though, sometimes the classics arenÂ’t the most entertaining thing to look at on Woodward. ThatÂ’s why weÂ’ll have other mega galleries coming soon, highlighting the weird cars and (great) dogs of the Cruise, all the imports and exotics you can imagine and a special one for all the trucks of Woodward — perhaps even more so than in years past, the truck population on Dream Cruise day was quite high. Click through above to see all the classics you wouldÂ’ve seen had you been roadside on the day of the cruise. And if you missed this yearÂ’s event, make sure you check out what happens next year. You wonÂ’t be alone, as itÂ’s estimated that over 1 million people attend the Dream Cruise to either watch from the side of the road or to sit in the most glorious traffic jam in the world. GM recalling 521,817 cars in two campaigns

Tue, May 12 2015

General Motors is issuing two, separate recalls covering a total of 521,817 vehicles worldwide. The larger campaign covers 468,887 units of the 2011-2012 Chevrolet Malibu. Specifically, 437,045 of these are in the US, and the rest are outside the country. In these sedans, a steel cable that connects the seat belt to the vehicle can fatigue and separate. GM knows of 36 claims about the problem but only one minor injury. According to The Detroit News, this happened when a taxi driver hit his head. To fix things, dealers will replace the "outboard lap mounting bracket," which will move the tensioner rearward. They'll also inspect and if necessary replace the steel cable and lap pretensioner. In the second campaign, 52,930 examples the 2015 Chevy Colorado and 2015 GMC Canyon have seat frame attachment hooks that were installed incorrectly during assembly. GM hasn't received any reports of crashes, injuries, or fatalities about this problem. Dealers will inspect the affected trucks and repair as necessary. GM spokesperson Alan Adler told Autoblog that he didn't yet have a specific date when affected owners would receive official mailings about either of these recalls. GM Statement General Motors is recalling 48,309 2015 model year Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon midsize pickup trucks in the U.S. because certain seat frame attachment hooks were not properly attached to the vehicle body during assembly. Dealers will inspect the potentially affected seats for proper installation and repair if necessary. GM knows of no crashes, injuries or fatalities related to this condition. The total vehicle population of the recall is 52,930 including 4,620 vehicles sold in Canada. General Motors is recalling 437,045, 2011-2012 model year Chevrolet Malibus in the U.S. because the flexible steel cable that connects the safety belt to the vehicle can fatigue and separate over time as a result of occupant movement in the seat. Dealers will replace the outboard lap mounting bracket to relocate the tensioner slightly rearward. Dealers will inspect the cable and, if necessary, replace the lap pretensioner. GM knows of 36 claims, no crashes or fatalities and one minor injury reportedly related to the condition. The total vehicle population of the recall is 468,887 including Canada, Mexico and exports.
