1988 3/4 ton 2500, K20 Suburban in very good condition. 350, new transmission last year. New 35" BF goodrich tires in 2012. I have owned this truck for 4 years and hate to see it go but have other interests that I want to move on to. It starts, runs, drives very good. I take it on 60 mile trips to camp on a regular basis and trust it to run good every time. Minor surface rust on the frame but body has none. Paint looks very good overall but there are scratches/minor blemishes from some offroad use. Not beaten offroad, just put it in 4 low and crawled through trails and class 4 roads. This thing is a beast! The best part is the truck has 3 bench seats so you can throw 9 people in and go for a cruise.
Truck was always parked after hunting season (early december) and never brought out on the roads until late april/may (just took it out of storage last week) so no exposure to salt. The interior is in good shape. I covered the front seat as protection. Carpet in good shape. The radio works well, all lights work. Aftermarket horn installed. Rear passenger side cargo area window cracked but I have just been running it as is for a while now. New Drivers side window motor. The passenger side is slow and may need some attention but the motors are cheap on ebay (less than $50 if I recall). AC does not work...suspect it just needs a charge but never bothered to get it done, Heater makes a racket on high, Power locks do not work and need attention, Cruise works sometimes and sometimes not. You probably won't be on the highway with this anyway!
I've owned several project vehicles in varying states of disrepair prior to this truck. When I bought it, I bought it because I wanted something I didn't have to tow to the mechanic every week and that's what I got. The truck starts every time, runs good, looks good and when you have a bunch of people in it with a cooler, makes for alot of fun! Now if you think the truck is perfect and everything works like a new vehicle or restored show truck, please move on. It has some weekend projects left in it, but nothing that will prevent you from going for a ride.

EcoCar3 will convert Camaro to bitchin' eco rides
Sat, Apr 26 2014In the 47-year-history of the Chevrolet Camaro, there have been countless college-age kids spending a ton of time getting under the hood and souping 'em up. Now, General Motors is adding a twist to the concept by donating 16 Camaros for the EcoCar challenge that puts university teams together to wring out better fuel-efficiency out of various vehicles. No word on whether there will be donuts on anyone's lawn, as suggested by 80's punks the Dead Milkmen, but the idea's never a bad one. EcoCar3 will feature 16 teams such as Arizona State, Penn State, Ontario's University of Waterloo and, of course, Detroit's Wayne State University. They'll spend the next four years "[reducing] environmental impact, while maintaining the muscle and performance expected from this iconic American car," as the EcoCar organizers say. The goal is to maintain body design and safety standards while boosting efficiency and lowering emissions, but the actual process is far more complicated than that description suggests. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) and Bosch are among the sponsors of the contest, which is also put on by the US Department of Energy and managed by Argonne National Laboratory. Penn State won Year Two of the three-year EcoCar 2 competition with its E85 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle converted out of a Chevy Malibu. Opel CEO talks new EV, will likely be fresh face for Chevy, too
Wed, Jul 23 2014The rumored demise of the Opel Ampera has been confirmed, but there's good news, too. Opel CEO Karl-Thomas Neumann has been busy Tweeting information about the brand's next plug-in vehicle, admitting that the Ampera is on the way out but that plug-in vehicles are here to stay. His Tweets, in full, read: After the eventual run-out of the current generation Ampera, we'll introduce a successor product in the electric vehicle segment. Our next electric vehicle will be part of our massive product offensive – with 27 new vehicles in the 2014-2018 time frame. We see eMobility as important part of the mobility of tomorrow and we will continue to drive down costs & deliver affordability. As we learned earlier this week, the Ampera will not be refreshed when the current Chevy Volt is updated, most likely because of slow sales. Opel sold just 332 Amperas in the first five months of 2014. For now, General Motors is still building Amperas in Michigan for export to Europe. So, what might this new EV mean for the General Motors plug-in fleet? Official spokespeople are being quiet, but we think it's safe to say the new EV Neumann is talking about is not simply a rebadged Chevy Spark EV. This is the first official word about an entirely new EV, and we expect it will come to both the Chevrolet and Opel brands.
