Up for auction is a 1986 Chevrolet Suburban 2x4 model. This is a one family two owner vehicle, father then son. The condition of the Suburban is Excellent. Pictures do not do it justice looks better in person. Unmolested example. It has been either garaged or under a cover when not in use. It has a factory 454 (7.4 liter)  Engine mated to a Turbo 400 transmission. Engine is original and still runs strong with no smoke or issues. All smog emissions equipment in place. The transmission was rebuilt at a cost of over $1300 dollars at 141k. The entire brake system was bled and the front end aligned at the same time. Air conditioner is functional and blows cold, system was rebuilt not too long ago. All new dual exhaust was recently installed using high quality mufflers from the exhaust manifold to the tail pipes (finished by chrome tail pipes) about $750 dollars.  Carburetor was rebuilt a few months back. Newer rear shocks. Radiator was re-cored not too long ago as well. Rear diff. was serviced and new seals installed. New main power door lock and main driver side windows recently replaced using LMC replacement parts. New battery installed. New front grill. Serviced not too long ago included: plugs, wires, distributor parts, air cleaner, oil, drive belts, etc.. It has aluminum wheels with new chrome centers and new shiny chrome lug nuts. Tires are 16 inch BF Goodrich tires 33 inch with more than 70 percent thread. Front disc brakes with rear drum brakes. The exterior was repainted in it's original white color by a legitimate local body shop, at that time the front windshield and weather strip were replaced. The rear side window weather strips were also replaced. After painted it was buffed and has a very nice luster a cost of $2,900 dollars. Even the top roof area is shiny.The body is straight with no dents. No rust. Chrome on the exterior is in great on condition as well. There is a small scrape on the passenger side rear bumper. The exterior mirrors are in great condition. It has a factory roof type rack and running boards. It has provisions for a rear hitch. The gray interior is in near mint condition. No tears on the front or rear seats. The carpet is clean and free of stains. It even has the original GM vinyl floor mats and owners manual. Lights work, and has a JVC CD player installed. The Suburban is very clean and shows pride in ownership. Receipts for some work performed.  I am selling this truck for my brother-in law. He drives it regularly and takes it to Big Bear frequently so it is reliable Title is under his name and title is clean as well as free of any liens. Vehicle registration is current. Some 2012-13 Chevy Volts may not have enough battery coolant

The 2012 and 2013 model year Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in vehicle may have a battery glitch caused by low coolant levels. No recall has been issued and General Motors is taking care of the issue at no cost to drivers. Some of the affected Volts may have lower-than-advisable coolant levels because of some pesky air pockets in the car's cooling circuit. When the coolant levels get too low, the charging system for the battery powering the car's onboard generator (i.e. the Rechargeable Energy Storage System, or the RESS) may be shut down, turning one's Volt into a run-of-the-mill gas-powered car, and a pricey one at that. The Car Connection says GM is advising owners of the '12 and '13 Volts to contact their local Chevy dealer for a free fix. GM representatives didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from AutoblogGreen for more details. We believe this is a separate issue than the one that brought 8,000 Volts back to the dealers for a battery coolant fix, what GM called a "voluntary customer satisfaction effort," a few years ago. General Motors sold 23,094 Chevy Volts last year after selling 23,461 Volts in 2012, so that fix-it list may get fairly lengthy. There's a growing hubbub in the plug-in vehicle community over what looks like some ridiculously cheap replacement batteries for the Chevrolet Volt going up for sale. GM Parts Online, for example, is selling a replacement Volt battery with an MSRP of $2,994.64 but, with an online discount, the price comes down to $2,305.88. For the 16-kWh pack in the 2012 Volt, that comes to a very low $144.11 per kilowatt hour (kWH). But is it a real deal? How can it be, when a Chevy dealer may quote you a price of up to $34,000 to replace the pack? For a 16-kWh Volt pack, $2,305.88 comes to a very low $144.11 per kWh. But is it a real deal? Battery packs in alternative propulsion vehicles are usually priced by the kWh and, historically, they've been thought to be in the range of $500-per-kWh for OEM offerings. Since automakers are understandably secretive about their costs, we still don't know what the real number is today, but we do know it varies by automaker. Tesla, for example, has said it pays less than $200-per-kWH at the cell level but, of course, a constructed pack would be more. Whatever is going on, li-ion battery prices are trending downward. So, $144.11 certainly sounds great, but what's the story here? Kevin Kelly, manager of electrification technology communications for General Motors, reminded AutoblogGreen that GM Parts Online is not the official GM parts website and that, "the costs indicated on the site are not what we would charge our dealers or owners for a replacement battery. There would be no cost to the Volt owner if their battery needs replacement or repair while the battery is under the eight year/100,000 mile limited warranty coverage provided by Chevrolet." A single price tag also can't be accurate for everyone, Kelly said. "If the customer needs to have their battery repaired beyond the warranty, the cost to them would vary depending on what needs to be replaced or repaired (i.e. number of modules, which specific internal components need replacement, etc.)." he said. "So, it's hard for us to tell you exactly what the cost would be to the customer because it varies depending on what might need to be repaired/replaced. As a result, the core charge would vary." But, is the $2,300 price even accurate for anyone? Thanks to a reader comment, we see that this similar item on New GM Parts makes it look like the lithium-ion modules that Kelly mentioned – where a lot of the expensive bits are – are not included.

Can A Fleet Queen Become a Fullsize King?
On paper, the Chevrolet Impala is a pretty strong seller, posting annual sales that have hovered right around 170,000 units for the last two years, but it only takes one trip to practically any rental car agency to discover where the majority of those sales have come from. In fact, General Motors told Autoblog that a full 70 percent of Impala sales last year went to fleet companies for things like rental cars and government vehicles. Logic tells us that this is neither good for resale values nor name equity, so Chevrolet is getting ready to roll out an all-new Impala with improved comfort, styling and technology, hoping to turn the tables on its retail-to-fleet ratio.
Chevrolet's sedans have come on quite strong in the last few months with the introduction of the Cruze diesel and the SS sedan, but while these will likely be low-volume sellers, there's more pressure for the new Impala to perform well as GM looks to slash fleet sales and compete with the wide variety of full-size sub-luxury sedans. Riding on a platform shared with the Buick LaCrosse and Cadillac XTS, the 2014 Impala will compete against the Hyundai Azera, Ford Taurus and Toyota Avalon on the more traditional side, while also looking to take a bite out of somewhat sportier models like the Chrysler 300/Dodge Charger twins and the Nissan Maxima. We headed to sunny San Diego to see if this totally new Impala can stand on its own without the assistance of fleet companies and rental agencies. [w/video
