1950 Chevy Suburban. I found this truck in Northern California about 8 months ago. Pretty decent truck. The seller bought it from Utah. It was found in a dry Nevada salvage yard and spent it's time being customized in Utah before being sold to my seller in NorCal. It was a running truck that was driven from Utah to California.

When I purchased the truck it was not running. It had an electric fuel pump that gave out. So it sat for over a year until the guy decided to sell it. He processed the paperwork and was able to title it in California. It currrently has a clean title and is registered to me today.

This is what I found from my inspection and the little paperwork that my seller had.

Chevy 350 engine, 700R4 transmission, B&M converter lock up control. Edelbrock 650 carb, Edelbrock intake manifold, HEI ignition, new wiring harness front/back, Powersteering, power disc brakes/ rear drum, Electric fan. Speedo, oil pressure, volt gauge works. Temp and fuel gauge not working. S10 factory brake booster, master cylinder, proportion valve. Factory S10 front swaybar. No sender unit in gas tank but wired. 14 inch steel wheels with a flipper hubcap. It was super low.

1990 S10 front subframe welded to a 1967 Chevelle rear frame with a factory 10 bolt rearend. E/brake not hooked up.

Body in good shape for it's age. Still has rust in the inner rear fenders, no inner front fenders, rear bumper brackets were welded to the stock chevelle frame to mount the bumper, no top support to tie in the front clip. A combination of cheap paint with actually cool graphics throughout. Wood headiner and running boards. Running boards have supports welded directly to the frame. Wipers do not work. Underside not restored. New side glass, rear barn door glass and window seals. Bear claw latches on both front doors that need adjustments. Passenger side door latch is stuck. Driver glass is cracked. Rear latch is factory and barn doors are working properly. Only front seat, home style cut loop carpet w/heat shield material undeneath. Seat upholstered in metal flake gold with inside panels to match. Side panel material is coming loose. Some type of factory import guages that fit directly into the stock two pods. They are sitting in the dash but not secured. Speedo has KPH and MPH fonts. And appears to look like a chevrolet spript from an early valvecover fabbed into the dash. Wow that is cool. Metal flake silver steering wheel.

Once I got it back to my shop on a flatbed. I let the burb sit for about 3 months until I started to fix, clean up and add parts to make the truck safe and reliable. I have 2 kids and a wife that can give me the dirtiest look if what she's riding even coughs on the road. So to avoid the evil eye it had to be run properly.

This is what I have done so far on this running truck. I replaced the electric fuel pump with a mechanical pump, new battery, plug wires,  Holley 650 carb, cadillac style air cleaner, trick stock style valvecovers in superflake gold with plug wires routed through the cover to the back towards the HEI instead of the Oldsmobile rocket covers that routes the wires to the inside of the intake. A much cleaner look and has never been done in this way. Yes everyone will flip when they see it. Also has a set of original "Royal" script car emblems mounted. Cleaned up engine compartment wiring, reinforced front clip (not perfect but functional), secured fuel tank with steel straps, new front Monroe shocks, new rear Monroe shocks, completed gas filler hose into tank, factory steel wheels 15x5 with new Michelin 205/70-15 in front and 15x7 with new Michelin 225/70-15. All matching tires. Wheels painted in oil rubbed bronze. Mounted and computer balanced. New Spider center caps. Installed a good used set of flowmaster mufflers with turndowns in front of the axle (previous were straight pipes).

Now the truck is presentable and can run in and around town. The work will need to continue but can be driven today. The truck is looking for a competent fabricator, body person or mechanic that can add their touches. Please do not expect a perfect truck. And please have the understanding of what your buying. It's not a field or barn find truck. It's not a shell for $3500 with no title or a full blown restoration for 45K plus. It's suited for a guy that has mechanical skills and can continue to refine it on their time. This is not the kind of truck to bring it to a Firestone tire shop and have a mechanic work on it. This is not the truck to do a full restoration back to stock.

I have disclosed as much as I know and what I have done. It's worth the effort because these trucks have vanished. My reason for moving this truck to the next owner is that I found my holy grail. A 1937 GMC 1/2 pick up already converted with late model drivetrain and an hour away. I'll ditch my wife and take the kids to the pool in a 37.

Thanks so much for looking at my auction and feel free to contact me should you have any questions. Suggest to have the vehicle transported. This is not fly in and drive out. This truck is being sold with no reserve. Yep bid to win. Will be advertised locally and can be sold before the auction ends.

GM seeks national mandate for zero-emissions cars

Fri, Oct 26 2018

DETROIT — General Motors says it will ask the federal government for one national gas mileage standard, including a requirement that a percentage of auto companies' sales be zero-emissions vehicles. Mark Reuss, GM's executive vice president of product development, said the company will propose that a certain percentage of nationwide sales be made up of vehicles that run on electricity or hydrogen fuel cells. GM says a nationwide program modeled on such a requirement in California could result in 7 million electric vehicles, or EVs, on U.S. roads by 2030. California wants 15.4 percent of vehicle sales by 2025 to be EVs or other zero emission vehicles. Nine other states, including Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York, have adopted those requirements. In January, California Governor Jerry Brown set a target of 5 million zero-emission vehicles in California by 2030. The Trump administration criticizes California's ZEV mandate, saying it requires automakers to spend tens of billions of dollars developing vehicles that most consumers do not want, only to sell them at a loss. Reuss told reporters that governments and industries in Asia and Europe "are working together to enact policies now to hasten the shift to an all-electric future. It's very simple: America has the opportunity to lead in the technologies of the future." A national mandate also would create jobs and reduce fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and "make EVs more affordable," Reuss added. GM, the nation's largest automaker, will spell out the request Friday in written comments on a Trump administration proposal to roll back Obama-era fuel economy and emissions standards, freezing them at 2020 levels instead of gradually making them tougher. Under a regulation finalized by the Environmental Protection Agency at the end of the Obama administration, the fleet of new automobiles would have to get 36 miles per gallon by 2025, 10 mpg higher than the current requirement. But the Trump administration's preferred plan is to freeze the standards starting in 2021. Administration officials say waiving the tougher fuel efficiency requirements would make vehicles more affordable, which would get safer cars into consumer hands more quickly. GM on Thursday said it doesn't support the freeze, but wants flexibility to deal with consumers' shift from cars to less-efficient SUVs and trucks.

Motor Trend wheels the 2015 Corvette Z06

Tue, Nov 25 2014

The new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is capable of some absolutely wild metrics. Want proof? Carlos Lago from Motor Trend is here to break it all down. 60 miles per hour? 3.2 seconds. 60 to 0? 91 feet. Lateral acceleration? A staggering 1.16g, a figure that is the highest MT has ever recorded for a vehicle that isn't a race car. It's an utterly astonishing piece of work, this Z06, and just when you think it can't possibly get any more impressive, Randy Pobst hustles an auto-equipped Z06 around Road Atlanta in just 1:30. Aside from the eight-speed auto, Pobst's Z06 had the most aggressive aerodynamic package, the so-called Stage III. Take a look at the 650-horsepower Z06 in Motor Trend's latest video.

NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.
