My father is still the original owner of this beautiful garage kept silverado 3500 1 ton 4x4 truck . Its has been garage kept from day one when not on vacation . He ordered it new from Purfoiy Chevrolet in Ft Lupton Colorado . He only used it on vac and weekend summer camping trips to the lake . He hauled a lance slide in camper on it and pulled his 20 foot fish @ Ski boat with it . My father is an extremely meticulas clean freak ! No one was ever allowed to have any food or drink of any kind in the cab ! He would not even take it on trip if there was any chance of hail where he was going ! He would stay home an cancel his trip ! The engine compartment still looks brand new ! The interior in brand new and still has than sheen to it including the carpet ! The pic don't do it justice ! Its bright and not faded at all ! The maint on this truck is impecable ! This is probaly the nicest 92 in the country or even the world ! Its almost a shame at this point to use it for anything other than a show truck ! But will make an exellant truck for what ever you choose at a price far less than a new one ! The black paint is almost flawless ! He uses very special waxes and is very careful not to get any swril marks in the paint ! The only shame back in about 1996 or 97 the right rear tire blew on the way to Okla for vac and put some scratches on the rt rear quarter panel. Dad refused to take it for repair because he did not want any over spray on the rest of the truck or to ruin the new interior smell from being in a body shop and asorbing all the odors from body shop . So he just lived with the scratches . The truck runs drives and looks and smells like its a brand new 92 ! The Micheln tires are like new as are two new batteries . The truck is camper ready with all tie downs and is air bagged in the rear if you have a heavy camper if needed . You really have to see this truck in person to appreciate the condition it is in ! Its absoluly stunning ! The pics don't do it justice ! Please call me before bidding so you have a complete and accurate discription of the truck. If you want a new 1 ton big block gas powerd 4x4 with out the new price this is a close as you will ever come I think ! Truck has never been in snow or a gravel road ! Dad won't go to any lake or camp ground that is not paved ! I don't think its ever even been in 4 wheel drive ! He only ordered it with 4 wheel because he knew when it came time to sell it would be more valuable ! He recently purchased a new larger camper and needed a dually that is why he is selling it .  Truck is for sale locally so reserve the right to end auction early. Truck is extreamly nice but it is a used vehicle so sold as is no warranty expressed or implied . Call me at 720-333-1680 If any other questions. Thank you.

Chevy Volt 'acceptable,' Nissan Leaf 'poor' in new IIHS safety tests

Thu, Jul 31 2014

Ford C-Max Hybrid also scored "acceptable" rating. With US Nissan Leaf sales up almost 30 percent during the first half of the year, the only thing that might be able to stop the battery-electric vehicle is a good, stiff barrier. Unfortunately, thing's aren't always pretty when that happens in the real world, according to new tests from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Things with the Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in are a little bit rosier, though. The two plug-in vehicles were part of a batch of a dozen vehicles that just went through the IIHS's "small overlap" test, in which the driver's side front corner of the vehicle is crashed into a rigid barrier at 40 miles per hour. Out of the dozen, only the Mini Cooper Countryman was given a "good" rating. Five vehicles, including the Volt and the Ford C-Max Hybrid, were rated "acceptable," two were "marginal" and two, including the Leaf, were "poor." Plug-in vehicles are unique in the crash-test context because of their relatively large battery sizes. In the Volt's case, the driver had a "low risk" of injury, said the IIHS. But the Leaf's crash substantially pushed back the instrument panel and steering column, creating a scenario where the driver was "likely" to sustain leg injuries. The batteries in both the Leaf and the Volt passed safety tests specifically targeted at things like thermo and electrical properties and overall integrity. "Nissan is proud of the Leaf's 'Good' rating in all other IIHS tests, a 4-star NCAP rating from NHTSA and its IIHS Top Safety Pick rating in all previous years since the car's release," the company said in an e-mail sent to AutoblogGreen. "As for the performance of the 2014 Leaf in the 'small overlap frontal test,' Nissan will continue to review these and other results from the IIHS 'small overlap frontal test' as we seek opportunities for improvement." Check out the IIHS's press release and small car crash-test video footage below. Range of ratings: Small car ratings run the gamut in challenging small overlap front test The Mini Cooper Countryman is the only small car to earn a good rating among the latest group of 12 cars subjected to the Institute's small overlap front crash test. Two electric models and a hybrid also are in the mix, with varied results. The electric-powered Chevrolet Volt (with a gasoline engine "range extender") earns an acceptable rating, while its battery-electric rival, the Nissan Leaf, earns a poor rating.

New Chevrolet Silverado to be revealed on Facebook on Thursday

Tue, 11 Dec 2012

There's not much to see here, but if you're one of those waiting for the reveal of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, above is the teaser image that Chevrolet posted on its Facebook page. We've seen the truck in form-fitting camo before, and even less can be made out here beyond those seriously punchy Silverado-esque fenders and the knowledge that the projector-beam headlamps teased previously do indeed work. We'll have to wait until Thursday for a full perusal of the "bold exterior design" and "careful attention given to every detail" we've been promised.
Gathering intel and rumors, magnesium and aluminum contribute to the Silverado's weight loss plan, the purported "High Country" top-tier trim will contribute to luxury pickup truck competition and profit margins and the next-generation small-block V8 will contribute to improved fuel economy. On the engine note, there have been rumors of available V6 engines, and when Facebook user John Jones asked "Where's your answer to that EcoBoost Chevy?", the Bowtie replied "stay tuned on the 13th. We think you'll be pleased...".
Along with the "Raise the Bar" tag, Chevrolet says of the Silverado, "You asked, we delivered." You can watch the reveal live on Chevrolet's Facebook page at 9:30 am EST, this Thursday, December 13. The GMC Sierra 1500 will also be there, and we'll see both in person at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

Use this PowerPoint when convincing your spouse to let you buy a Corvette

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.
