For sale I have a 2007Classic 2500HD duramax 4x4 with a fair amount of work done to it. It has a Twin turbos, stock over an Industrial S475. It has a Merchant 6 speed automatic transmission. Wicked Fuel injection pump, ARP HeadStuds, EBC pads and rotors, Billistein shocks all the way around, MotoMetal wheels with Dynapro MT tires that have about 20 miles on them (wheels have about 30,000 miles). It has EFI Live with a 5 stage tuned by Nick. B&W turnover ball with Airbags. JL Audio dual subs behind the back seat, with JL audio HD amp. Edge Gauge Cluster Bose speakers, 6 disk changer. Heated leather, everything works. Drone mobile remote start (can use from smart phone or computer to start/shutoff, lock, un lock, disable vehicle, etc.) It has stainless steel rocker panels, and spray and bedliner. The truck has just shy of 152xxx miles, I had the twins and tranny done at 112xxx, the cp3 at about 117. Randalls Performance has done all the work for the truck. It is set up to tow, that's what I use it for. Never been raced, or in a pull. It has a salvage title, the story I got when I bought it was it was a theft recovery, I purchased in Tennessee, according to their law that warrants a salvage title. I still think it has been wrecked, but have had for over 2 and a half years and have never had a problem with anything. I have the title in hand. Within the last 6 months, I have done control arms and bushings, ball joints, shocks, u-joints, wheel bearings, starter, etc. Truck runs well, drives great, etc. I wouldn't hesitate to hop in and take off on a 3,000 mile trip. There are a couple scratches on the tailgate, rocker panels, etc. Normal stuff for living down a gravel road, some touch ups here and there wouldn't hurt it. Interior is in really good shape, no rips, tears, etc. in any of the seats. Both heated seats work great. I have the truck for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction at any time. GM laying off 500 workers to slow Chevy Sonic production
Sat, Oct 24 2015Due to slow sales of the Chevrolet Sonic and Buick Verano, General Motors is cutting a shift at the Orion Township plant that builds the pair. The move lays off about 500 workers, but most of them are expected to get offers to transfer to other factories, Automotive News reports. The move came just a day after GM announced adding 1,200 employees to the Detroit-Hamtramck plant. GM has been trying all year at the Orion Township factory to align production of the Sonic and Verano with their demand. The automaker first attempted idling the plant several times and eventually resorted to laying off about 100 workers. It also reduced the production rate there. With the huge rise in popularity of crossovers, demand for the plant's small cars is on the downturn. According to Automotive News, there's currently a 116-day supply of Sonics and 100 days of Veranos to sell. Delivers tell a similar tale because the Chevy is off 35.2 percent from January to September, and the Buick does little better with a 27.2 percent drop from the same period last year. While the situation at Orion Township might look rough now, big things are on the horizon. Soon, the new Chevy Bolt electric vehicle will be built there when it hits the market around 2017. Plus, the plant will also get a $245-million upgrade and 300 new jobs for another, unannounced vehicle.
China's rise, global restructuring wither GM's Korea division
Wed, Jan 7 2015An article in the Daily Kanban suggests the sun is setting on GM Korea, and it could already be well into dusk. GM Korea came about when General Motors, along with co-investors SAIC and Suzuki, bought Daewoo Motors from parent company Daewoo Group in 2001; it had a previous tie-up with GM, a joint venture that ended in 1992, although Daewoo cars were based on GM cars until 1996. Over the decade following the purchase, it became such an important part of operations that it was renamed GM Korea in 2011, "to reflect its heightened status in [the] global operations of GM." Just two years later, the printed rumors were that the subsidiary responsible for a fifth of Chevrolet's global production could be shutting down. The division's sales were down almost 21 percent through November of last year, counting domestic South Korean sales, exports, and CKD – Complete Knock Down – products. That makes the labor strife, already an issue for four years, even more acute, reports say the subsidiary will lose $36 million a year if it can't get the job and wage cuts it wants, and government concessions can't make up for the losses. And it gets worse, so head over to Daily Kanban to read the rest of the story.
Pics Aplenty: Meet the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra [w/poll]
Thu, 13 Dec 2012Today was a pretty big day for General Motors, debuting the all-new Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra light-duty pickup trucks ahead of their official showcase at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. And now that the dust has settled at GM's big reveal event, we've had a chance to snap dozens of photos of the new pickup pair from every angle.
We already told you the important bits earlier today (click here in case you missed it), but let's recap. Under the hood are three new engines - a 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 (you know, a version of the small-block that'll also be found under the hood of the C7 Corvette), all mated to six-speed automatic transmissions. The 2014 model year marks the return of the Z71 off-road package with Rancho shocks, front tow hooks and beefier underbody protection. Inside, there's a host of new technology and a greater focus on better quality and refinement.
Some of the nitty-gritty specifics (like engine output numbers and fuel economy) have yet to be revealed, and since we haven't driven the finished products yet, it's hard to say how these trucks will fare against rivals like the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150. For now, we can only judge these two books by their covers, and while we do like the designs of the new trucks, we Autoblog staffers are torn on exactly which one looks best.
