I'm selling it because the family moved to Florida and we no longer need it. You can drive it home from here if you want. It is just not needed anymore. It is in decent cosmetic condition but needs a good cleaning. The good: No engine light on. Starts right up and runs great, frame and underside very clean, all new brakes, all new wheel bearings, new brake lines, all fluids (trans, oil, diffs, etc) replaced. Ice cold air and great heat. New gas pedal sensor. Tow package, electric brake set up for trailer, hitch and center bed tow hook up for horse or other trailer. No leaks, burns no oil. Its a good solid work truck. The bad: Has dings scratches etc. Needs rear gate handle. Needs four tires. It needs an exhaust donut on the passenger side you can hear a slight leak when its cold. When it warms up it goes away. It needs the 4WD switch. It works 99% of the time but just trying to be honest. The blinkers blink fast sometimes. I think thats it. Camaro driver clocked at 171 miles per hour
Wed, Apr 13 2016Chevy's 2016 Camaro SS is a fantastic piece of automotive engineering. It is also, apparently, very, very fast. This latter fact was perfectly illustrated when, on April 8, a Camaro SS driver was nailed in Two Harbors, Minnesota for doing 171 mph. According to WFAA, the unnamed speed demon was flying down Highway 61 near Two Harbors when Hermantown, MN Deputy Police Chief Shawn Padden clocked him at an eye-watering 171 mph. He then recorded the speeder at 168 and 141. At the time, Deputy Chief Padden was working with Minnesota State Patrol on an anti-DWI program called "Toward Zero Deaths". Padden, who was interviewed by the Duluth News Tribune, said he was surprised at the driver's sheer speed. "When he went by me, it was a blur," Padden told the News. "You get used to seeing people going 65 or 70 and what that looks like. But I've never seen anything like this. It's like a rocket on wheels." Fadden chased the Camaro down eventually, but it took some doing. To catch the Camaro, he pushed his Dodge Charger Pursuit to 135 mph just to get into range so the Camaro could see his emergency lights. The speeding driver was ticketed for careless driving, but may lose his license due to a Minnesota law that gives courts the option of revoking licenses for drivers caught doing more than 100 mph. Why does the Corvette Stingray have so many vents? Here's why
Sun, 27 Jan 2013Just looking at the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, it's not hard to see that the car's design was created with aerodynamics at the forefront, but Chevrolet designers point out exactly what went into designing the iconic coupe in a pair of recently released videos. The videos show the Corvette going through early design phases, including clay models and wind tunnel tests, as well as talking to the car's chief engineer, Tadge Juechter.
Both videos help explain various aspects of the C7 Corvette, but it's the aero tuning of the car that is most interesting. This includes extra attention paid to the lower air dam and vented hood to help reduce drag and lift, while the rear quarter inlets are for differential and transmission cooling. Juechter said that some of these aero-tuned elements were inspired from GM's involvement in racing.
