2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT extended cab four door pickup truck. One owner, 175000 miles. Does have the usual rust on the rocker panels. Leather interior in good shape except for the normal worn area on the driver's side armrest and cushion. All power options including heated, 6-way power seats (passenger side not working yet), power windows/locks, tilt, cruise, dual power heated mirrors, etc. Runs and drives but not currently tagged. Four wheel drive works fine. Has the 5.3 V-8, Z-71 package, 3.73 locking differential, transmission oil cooler, as well as tow receiver/8-wire trailer harness. New master cylinder, front rotors, brakes, left cv shaft, caliper, hub, rear calipers, fog lamps, and fresh oil change. Has three great tires and one fair used tire that is same size but different brand. Has bed liner and rubber mat, custom dual exhaust, 2" ball receiver hitch, and chrome step bars.

Runs and drives great.   The 4WD works as it should in all positions, just had some snow here so perfect for testing out.  I did do brake work and feel that the pedal is still soft.  I have bled the brakes several times.  I was told that it might have to be bled at a dealership due to the ABS module.  The brakes do work fine, just not the same pedal stiffness as my other 2002 Silverado.  The ABS works as it should.

The only thing it needs is probably an alignment and an exact matching tire which I cannot find in town.  The tire is a Dayton Timberline A/T 265 75 16.  Cannot tell if the a/c works due to the cold weather.  It has been too cold to get the compressor to engage, or it may need Freon.  The paint is in decent shape with a little clear coat coming off on the bed.  Has a few minor dings, hard to tell in pictures.

I highly encourage anyone interested to come and see the truck in person.  I live in Clarksville TN zip 37040, approx. 40 miles northwest of Nashville, TN.

I will update this listing if I find any other issues or get the passenger heated seat repaired as well as if it warms up enough to test the a/c.

 Clean, clear, notarized Tennessee title.
***Have title and Kentucky notarized bill of sale signed and ready to go if you are getting it titled in KY***

Please email or TEXT 931-436-1844 if interested to come and take a look.

Asking $5,500.00 or best reasonable offer.

Payment in cash is due within seven days or will relist.  500.00 deposit due via PayPal within 24hrs of auction end
Kelly Blue Book "Fair" value is: $7492.00
Not looking for a trade, especially one of lesser value, with the exception of a C-4 manual Corvette. Otherwise your trade would need to meet or exceed the KBB value of my truck.

On Mar-10-14 at 14:03:04 PDT, seller added the following information:

It warmed up to 65 degrees today.  The a/c compressor cycle on and off.  Not sure if it needs Freon or just not warm enough to run continuously.  I tried the a/c in my 2002 Silverado and it cycled on and off as well and I know it works.

The fan switch did NOT work on speeds one and two, but did work on speeds three, four, and five.

Ford GT dominates Le Mans qualifying, gets slapped with performance adjustment

Fri, Jun 17 2016

Fifty years after Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon drove the Ford GT40 to victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Ford is poised for a historic return to the Circuit de la Sarthe. The new Ford GT took the top two qualifying positions in the LMGTE Pro class, and four of the top five. Ferrari's 488 filled in the rest of the spots in the top seven, the first two from AF Corse. In other words, we're primed for a reboot of the classic Ford-Ferrari feud at this year's race. Or not, as the ACO, which organizes the 24 Hours of Le Mans, announced sweeping pre-race Balance of Performance (BOP) adjustments this morning that make this year's GT class anybody's race. In LMP1, last year's overall winner Porsche locked up the top two spots with the 919 Hybrid and will lead the entire field at race start. Toyota's two-car factory effort followed with qualifying times 1.004 and 2.170 seconds behind the pole lap. Audi rounds out the manufacturer-backed LMP1 class in fifth and sixth. Full qualifying results can be found here. The storyline for the GT cars is perfect - some say too perfect. Ford's class-leading times came after BOP adjustment to the Corvette Racing C7.R before qualifying. BOP is intended to level the playing field in the class by adjusting power, ballast, and fuel capacity. (Check out this explainer video for more, or even just if you love French accents.) But the process is riddled with unknowns and ripe for accusations of sandbagging. That is, if the Ford cars were intentionally slow in practice they could hope for BOP adjustment to improve their race chances. On the Corvette side, last year's GTE Pro winner went from the top of the field to the bottom, barely improving from practice to qualifying. If you think Le Mans is as rigged at the NBA Playoffs, well, it's not that simple. Because if Ford and Ferrari held back until qualifying - the eighth-place Porsche 911 RSR is three-and-a-half seconds off the class pole time - it was a pretty dumb strategy. This morning, the ACO tried to put things back in order by limiting the boost in the Ford GT's twin-turbo V6 and adding 11 pounds of ballast. Ferrari was also given extra weight but allowed more fuel capacity. The Corvette and Aston Martin teams were both given breaks on their air restrictors, which will allow their engines to make more power. Both Ford and Porsche also received extra fuel capacity.

GM invests $24 million to build more crew cab trucks in Fort Wayne

Thu, May 30 2019

The full-size pickup truck arms race continues unabated here in the United States as Ford, General Motors and Fiat Chrysler battle back and forth for sales supremacy. The Ford F-Series of trucks continues to lead the field in sales (214,611 units sold through the first quarter of 2019), but the race for second place has been a lot more interesting to watch. That's because Ram, long a distant third in truck sales, eked its way past Chevrolet late in 2018 and has managed to hold the position so far in 2019. Don't take this to mean that sales of GM's trucks have been poor across the board. In fact, the automaker reports that sales of its four-door crew cab pickups are up 20 percent in 2019 over the same period a year ago. And that's what makes GM's announcement today so interesting. The automaker is investing $24 million into its assembly plant in Fort Wayne, Indiana to build more Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks, and the focus will continue to be on crew cab models. "We are building Chevrolet and GMC crew cab pickups at record volume and mix levels to meet customer demand and the $24 million investment will allow us to build even more," said GM chief Mary Barra in a statement. "Crew cab sales have been very strong, and we are expanding customer choice with new models, more cab choices and innovative new powertrains." It's worth noting that, if crew cab sales are up 20% this year, but overall sales are down (over 15% for Silverado and around 2% for GMC), that means it's the cheaper regular cab and double cab models that are lagging. At the same time, sales of the midsize Chevy Colorado have surged 16%. And finally, if you combine sales of the Silverado and Sierra into one bucket, GM still has a comfortable lead over Ram overall. If there's a takeaway here, it's that trucks of all shapes and sizes have been, currently are and will surely remain hot in America, and automakers will continue to invest money into making sure they are able to satiate consumer demand.

GM reintroduces Tripower name in the worst way possible

Wed, Aug 1 2018

The story of General Motors' use of the Tripower moniker begins way back in 1957, when Semon E. "Bunkie" Knudsen, then General Manager of GM's Pontiac division, directed his engineers to inject more performance into his brand's line of V8-powered automobiles. Fuel injection was an option, but hot rodders flocked instead to Tri-Power (marketed way back when with a hyphen), which grafted a trio of two-barrel Rochester carburetors onto a single intake manifold. A legend was born. And that legend was born of performance. At idle and when full power wasn't required, Pontiac's Tri-Power system used just the middle carburetor, which helped make the setup easier to tune. Depending on the year and model, either a vacuum system or a mechanical linkage opened up the two outer carbs, thereby switching from two barrels to six, and allowing the engine to take in more fuel and air. And it was an easy marketing win – six barrels is better than four barrels, right? Because performance! So, when news filtered in that GM has resurrected the Tripower name, those of us who grew up attending classic car shows and wrenching on old Pontiacs did a double-take. And then we all collectively sighed. Turns out that today's Tripower refers to a trio of fuel-saving measures that include cylinder deactivation, active thermal management, and intake valve lift control, according to Automotive News. And, at least for now, it applies to GM's line of fullsize trucks powered by a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. We're all for saving fuel whenever possible. And we have zero say in how any automaker chooses to market its products and technologies. But, we'll offer our two cents anyway: Relaunching a storied name from the past is fine. Relaunching a storied name from the past while completely overlooking the reasons the name got famous in the first place is only going to irritate the people who remember the name in the first place. Couldn't they just call this new technology package something else?
