I am selling at NO RESERVE this beautiful 1992 Chevrolet Silverado Step-Side pick up truck.  It is quite rare to find these step-sides available in this condition that are unmolested.  I know, because I searched for a long time to find this one!

I have sold two other antique very nice vehicles on E-bay this year, also at no reserve. One of my vehicles was shipped to FL, the other one to Australia, both site unseen and both buyers are extremely happy.  I expect whoever buys this truck will be happy with this purchase, as well.  That being said, I cannot provide a warranty and you are buying as-is.

As you can see from the many pictures, this truck is a beauty.  It always receives compliments whenever I drive it.  The factory sticker on the door states this truck was made in Fort Wayne, Indiana.   As far as I know, I am the second owner.  The original owner was a retired man, and used it as a camper, and in fact, the truck bed was spotless.  There are still a few signs of the silicone rubber caulking that he used to seal the camper.  The scratches on the truck bed are from when I regretfully used it to move some furniture once.  You could paint the bed or purchase a bed liner, if you wanted this to be a show truck.  There are no dents in the bed.  There is no rust on the vehicle that I can find.  There are also no leaks that I am aware of.  I keep it parked in my garage.  I would not hesitate to drive this truck anywhere.  I drove it from Nashville to Seaside, FL and back last summer for a family vacation and it worked marvelously.  The engine runs well.

I am not 100% positive that I want to sell this truck, and if the bids do not reach an acceptable level, I reserve the right to close the auction early, so BID EARLY if you are interested or I may just keep it.

It is a gorgeous Victory Red.  It has the original Chevrolet rubber floor mats.  It has a 5.7 liter engine, automatic transmission, cold air, Panasonic CD AM/FM radio and is XM capable, tilt steering wheel, sliding rear window, power windows and power door locks.  It has an exterior cargo light, with a dash switch inside the cab.  The seats, carpet, and headliner are in great condition.

The General Grabber tires on this truck are almost new and have a ton of tread left.  It has a heavy duty bumper, capable for a maximum 4,000 lb. trailer load.  It has two trailer hitches in different sizes, and has an opening slot for a third trailer hitch.  The bumper can handle a tongue load of 400 lbs. max.  It has brand new front headlights and lens and turn signal lens.  It has a new water pump.

I have had this truck for approximately 10 years and have enjoyed driving it.  I have not used it as a daily driver to work, it has been an extra vehicle for me, and used only when we needed to haul something.

This vehicle is 21 years old and looks amazing for its age, however it does have a few minor blemishes (see condition notes above.)  If I were to keep this vehicle, there are 2 primary things I would do are:  take the carburetor off and have it professionally cleaned and have the rotors turned.

Some info about this vehicle from the Chevrolet Silverado wiki page:
This model is a fourth generation Chevrolet truck. The fourth generation was manufactured from 1988 to 2000.  Development of these trucks began around 1984 and were introduced in April 1987 as 1988 models (known as the GMT400 platform), there were eight different versions of the C/K line for 1988: Fleetside Single Cab, Fleetside Extended Cab, Fleetside Crew Cab, and Stepside Single Cab, each in either 2WD (C) or 4WD (K) drivelines. All C/K models would ride on independent front suspension. Three trim levels were available: Cheyenne, Scottsdale, and Silverado. Engines were a 160 hp (119 kW) 4.3 L V6, a 175 hp (130 kW) 5.0 L V8, a 210 hp (157 kW) 5.7 L V8 and a 6.2 L diesel V8. A 230 hp (172 kW) 7.4 L V8 was available in the 3/4-ton and one-ton trucks.  A drastic difference between the 3rd generation and 4 generation GM trucks was the suspension. The 4th generation GM trucks used all independent front suspensions (IFS).
5.7 L V8:  Power:  190 hp (140 kW) @ 4000 RPM   Torque:  300 lb·ft (410 N·m) @ 2400 RPM

Next Chevy Silverado could get this built-in tailgate step

Thu, Feb 2 2017

General Motors just received patent approval for a tailgate step in a pickup bed. And given the timing, don't be surprised if you see this on the upcoming 2019 Silverado pickup (not the mention its GMC Sierra twin), expected to arrive in late 2018. According to the patent, granted in December of last year, the whole mechanism is housed in the tailgate assemble. The magic happens when a portion of the top half of the tailgate swings down and a step folds out. There's also a handle that locks into position to help climb up into the bed. As trucks get bigger and taller over the years, it gets harder and harder to access the cargo bed. Ford's solution with the 2009 F-150 was a step that slides out from the end of the tailgate. Back then, Chevy made an ill-advised ad highlighting the feature for Ford. And while Howie Long mocked the F-150's "man step" Ford saw almost a third of its trucks with the option in the first year. The GM design seems to improve on Ford's idea as it appears to be wider and has a back to the lower step. That is, you don't have to worry about stepping through the ladder-rung design as on the F-150. Ford's tailgate step later spread to the F Super Duty, and other cargo access assists have proliferated through the truck world. On the most recent redesign, the Chevrolet Silverado took a trick from the Avalanche and added cutouts to the corners of the rear bumper that act as a foothold. Ford also offers a deployable side step, Chevrolet has running boards that scoot rearward with a kick of the boot, and Ram offers fixed wheel-to-wheel side rails. Nissan is in on the game too, with an optional folding step that tucks under the rear bumper. We don't expect Chevrolet to comment on when or if we'll see this feature in the showrooms. But given that engineers are already hard at work on the next Silverado and the timing of this patent lines right up with the new truck's development cycle, we'll be disappointed if this patent stays in the file cabinet. 2015 Chevy Volt gets larger battery, though range remains the same

Sat, Jul 19 2014

The Chevrolet Volt isn't changing much for the 2015 model year. According to specifications uncovered by Inside EVs, though, the new Volt's battery does have a slightly larger capacity. According to the spec sheet, this doesn't translate to increased range. Real world driving, though, might tell a different story. The 2015 Volt's battery storage is slightly higher than the outgoing model's, up from 16.5 kilowatt-hours to 17.1 kWh. According to GM's manager of electrification technology communications, Kevin Kelly, speaking to Green Car Reports, the increased capacity is "a late change done in the cell... just another continuous improvement to surprise and delight our customers." The stated electric range, however, stays at 38 miles. Inside EVs followed up on its original report, and found that drivers could see some advantage to the battery tweak. When they spoke to Kelly, he told them, "As a result of this change, we would expect that some customers may see a slight improvement in overall EV range." It's worth noting that when battery capacity increased from 16 kWh to 16.5 kWh for the 2013 Volt, electric range increased by three miles to the current 38, while MPGe went from 94 to 98. The price of the 2015 Chevrolet Volt remains steady, at $34,995. The actual cost to the customer is considerably less with the $7,500 federal tax credit, as well as any local incentives.

First privately owned Corvette Stingray blitzes 1/4 mile in 12.23 at 114.88 mph

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

Chevrolet's latest road rocket, the Corvette Stingray, is a very quick car. If one needs further proof of that, we recommend they take a look at this video from Hennessey of what is claimed to be the first privately owned C7 Corvette to make a pass down the quarter mile. Not just any quarter mile, mind, this black C7 blitzed its way down the tuner's primary testing dragstrip. The Chevrolet ran the quarter in just 12.23 seconds at 114.88 miles per hour. That is a very quick time for a stock car.
Equipped with the Z51 package and a six-speed automatic transmission, not only does the C7 run a solid time, but it does so with little to no drama. That won't last though, as Hennessey will likely return it to its owner with far more power - we just hope they show a drag run of the completed product. Take a look below to watch the C7's 12.23-second run on video.
