2005 Chevrolet SSR, Yes this is the 6.0 liter LS2,  great truck, lots of fun! Drop the top and go. Everything works like it should and in in Great condition. Aqua blur paint that turns color depending on the angle of the sun or lights at night, it turns from blue to green to purple, really cool. A couple of paint flaws to note, the (I call them splash guard on the lower front of the rear fenders) the clear is popping off and they need new clear coat. The hood needs to be buffed on the very top of it (from the sunshine) and a small cracked spot on the rear valance (see picture). Interior is in very good condition with only light leather wear on the drivers seat. This truck is loaded with options and they all work as they should, no problems with any of the accessories. The car is mechanically excellent, get in and go just like it should. I have added a K&N cold air intake and filter,( I will include the original factory air cleaner ) and a Diablo tuner, which is included so you can tune the way you like or put it back to factory. I have it tuned to the Diablo recomended  performance economy tune. These items were added just for kicks, I don't race it or anything. I chose to take the pictures of the car how I keep it instead of detailing it, this shows that I do take care of my cars. I run synthetic oil in my vehicles and change frequently. Car-fax shows this truck was involved in a no damage accident, I don't know what that was or means but the car is straight and gaps are perfect so there is no worries. Thank you and good luck bidding

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.

Chevrolet SS previewed by Holden VF Commodore SS V show car

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

It won't be long before we see the official, production-ready Chevrolet SS sedan (hint: it will be revealed this weekend). And to tide us over until all of the official details are released about the US-spec version, we have this: the Holden VF Commodore SS V show car, a performance-oriented brother to the Calais V that debuted earlier in the week.
What we really want to know about the SS V is what lies underhood, but General Motors' Australian arm is keeping that under wraps until the Chevy model breaks cover this weekend. Nevertheless, it's obvious that the SS V will be a serious performer, with all sorts of aggressive cues driving that home on the car's exterior. Take a look at those 20-inch billet aluminum wheels that hide big Brembo brake calipers up front, the sculpted hood and front fascia, the wide air intakes with LED running lights and the quad exhaust pipes out back. It's like the Pontiac G8 GXP never even left us.
Inside, there's a sporty-looking interior with aluminum accents that mix in with black leather and suede surfaces, all tied together in the middle with an eight-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment system. It looks great, and again, while we don't know anything regarding powertrain details, it makes us oh-so happy to see a manual shifter smack dab in the middle of the center console.

Use this PowerPoint when convincing your spouse to let you buy a Corvette

When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.
