.:VEHICLE DESCRIPTION:.

Here's your chance to own a very nice RUST-FREE SOUTH CAROLINA Chevrolet S-10 Crew Cab LS 4x4 at very reduced price. This Chevy Truck has spent its entire life in the Carolinas and has never seen salt. It runs and drives like it should and was just serviced.  It has a clear PA Title and is currently PA safety inspected until 05/31/14. This S-10 should give many years of faithful service to the new owner. This vehicle also has a clean AutoCheck history report.

We try our very best to describe our vehicles as precisely as possible, making mention of any imperfections so there will be no surprises on your part. Please read through the following sections thoroughly before placing your bid. Thanks for viewing our vehicle.

This vehicle is located 15 miles East of Erie, Pennsylvania, just off Exit 41 of Interstate 90. Feel free to make arrangements to test drive this vehicle.

.:MECHANICAL:.

This 4.3 Liter - 6 cylinder engine starts & runs excellent, and is smooth and quiet with no abnormal engine noises. The automatic transmission shifts like it should in all gears. We have just installed a new exhaust system including the catalytic converter. We have also installed 4 new shocks, new idler arm and new front anti-sway bar bushings.

The AC works and compressor kicks on, but it's not as cold as it could be and probably could use a charge.

The power windows work fine, but only from the drivers door controls. Recently serviced and PA safety inspected until 05/31/14.

This S-10 has evenly worn, NEARLY NEW GOODYEAR WRANGLER Raised Letter tires with 10/32 tread.

Two of the alloy wheels are missing the original 2 inch diameter Chevy center cap. Drivers door hinge has also recently been replaced.

.:EXTERIOR:.

This truck is as RUST-FREE as you will find. The exterior paint appears to be factory original and still looks great with only a few dings or scratches to report (see photos). We have inspected this vehicle and can find no evidence of exterior rust, previous accident damage or paint work. There is also a spray-in bed liner that is in nearly new condition. The bed appears to have been hardly used.

.:INTERIOR:.

The interior looks decent, however there are a few small spots on the drivers seat that have been repaired, likely caused by a cigarette (see photo), however, the interior does not have a cigarette smell. The center console is missing a coin box or something similar (see photo). The drivers seat is missing the handle to tilt the seat back. We believe it has been broken off. The plastic housing on the drivers door for the power windows and locks is a little bit loose and It also appears that someone cleaned the plastic drivers door panel with a solution that caused streaks in the plastic (see photo).

General Motors shaking up its marketing... again

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

One of the things that dogs the full comeback of General Motors is the instability of its marketing. That part of the automaker got yet another big shakeup today when GM confirmed what I have been tweeting for a few days - strong rumors that the Chevrolet and Cadillac ad accounts are walking to new ad agencies.
Cadillac, GM's luxury brand, is going into review from Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis and the indications are that Campbell-Ewald, Chevy's old ad shop, will end up with most or all of it. C-E just announced that it was moving from its long-time home in Warren, MI to a new downtown Detroit office next to Ford Field, just blocks from GM.
The other shoe to drop shortly will be the shift of GM's most important brand, Chevy, from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco to McCann-Erickson of Troy, MI. McCann used to be the agency for Buick and GMC, as well as GM's corporate advertising, and has retained some pieces of business over the last few years. Sources have even told us that it was McCann that did a lot of the creative work on Chevy's new ad platform, Find New Roads. (Not to be confused with a former McCann tagline for Saab, "Find Your Own Road.")

EcoCar2 is on the hunt for a better, cleaner Chevy Malibu [w/video]

Thu, Jun 12 2014

The students spent three years transforming an ordinary Chevy Malibu into a revolutionary vehicle. Not far from the building where General Motors once invented the Chevy Volt, a dozen or so college students are standing on the blacktop alongside a test track, watching a professional driver push the limits of a plug-in hybrid car they've built that's far more radical. These students, from Colorado State University, have spent the past three years transforming an ordinary Chevy Malibu into a revolutionary vehicle. At first glance, it still looks like a regular sedan. But under the hood, they've installed a hybrid powertrain that contains both hydrogen and electric power sources. Even by the standards of the Department of Energy competition they're participating in, it's an outlier. That's exactly what they had in mind. "We didn't want to come here and tell them how to build a better Volt," said Tom Bradley, faculty adviser for the Colorado State team. "They already know how to do that. We can tell them how to think about these possibilities in a whole new way." After three years of work, it all comes down to this. The Colorado State team was one of 15 that came to GM's Milford Proving Grounds last week for the final stretch of the EcoCar2 competition, which challenges regular college students who have no automotive experience to do nothing less than reinvent the American car. The teams have come from across North America, and include schools like Ohio State and Virginia Tech that have a long history of participating in similar competitions, and schools like the University of Washington and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University that are here for the first time. After three years of work, it all comes down to this. The teams have operated 24 hours a day for almost two weeks here at the Proving Grounds, running a gamut of tests that include a 310-point safety inspection, emissions and energy-consumption tests and road tests, in which professional GM drivers ensure they're road worthy. The winning team will be announced tonight in Washington D.C. Revolutionary cars, ordinary package While other green-car competitions encourage extreme designs, this one comes with a somewhat constraining twist: Yes, students must improve fuel economy and reduce emissions, but in the end, they still have to have a car that would appeal to mainstream customers. In practical terms, that means they must keep conveniences like air conditioning and trunk space.

Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 concept suggests a diesel off-road future

Thu, Nov 20 2014

"It takes the Colorado to a whole new place." – Mark Reuss The Chevrolet Colorado looks set to gain a more capable off-road version, with the company previewing a potential design direction with a ruggedized concept Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Called the Colorado ZR2, the concept brings back the name used on off-road-tuned S-10 and Blazer models in the 1990s and 2000s. The ZR2 has a track that's four inches wider than the Colorado Z71, which is currently the line's most capable off-roader. The ZR2 is fitted with a new grille, power-dome hood, custom wheel flares and off-road-style fascia that reduces overhang and has flip-out aluminum tow hooks. It's all slathered in an outdoorsy hue dubbed Cyprus Green. The are electronic locking front and rear differentials, skid plates and mono-tube coilover shock absorbers. It all rolls (or crawls) on 275/65R18 off-road tires wrapped around custom 18-inch aluminum wheels. There's also a spare tire assembly mounted in the bed, which has a spray-in liner and 48-inch lift jack should things go afoul on the trail. "It takes the Colorado to a whole new place," Mark Reuss, General Motors executive vice president of global product development, said at the reveal. Power comes from the 2.8-liter Duramax diesel engine making 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. This engine will arrive later in the year in the production Colorado. While the ZR2 remains only a concept, it suggests a new path for the Colorado – one we hope Chevy decides to take. Chevrolet Introduces Colorado ZR2 Concept Aggressively styled, more capable and driven by new 2.8L Duramax diesel engine LOS ANGELES – Chevrolet today introduced the Colorado ZR2 concept – a vision of how Chevrolet could take the all-new midsize truck's off-road capability to the next level. It also showcases the new 2.8L Duramax diesel engine that will arrive in the Colorado lineup later next year. The aggressively styled concept builds on the capabilities of the production Colorado Z71 and advances the legacy of Chevrolet's previous ZR2 production models. "From the bold stance to the trail-ready special equipment, the Colorado ZR2 is all about the fun of driving where the pavement ends – and doing it in characteristic Chevy style," said Tony Johnson, Colorado marketing manager.
