1987 Chevy S-10 Pickup Hot Rod 350 Restomod Easy Project, No Guess Work !! Nr on 2040-cars
West Palm Beach, Florida, United States
1987 Chevy S10 V8 Conversion NO RESERVE ! It has a 350 V8 and a Turbo 350 Trans. Great Father/Son Project or Weekend Wrench Guy.....Cheap Fun...No Reserve !
This was a running and driving truck. I have had all different cars, some big buck ones but this car was a blast...Just Cool This thing was a rocket...... (Some of the best fun I had since I was a kid) "LIKE THE OLD DAYS" without the worries of a 6,000 paint job or a frame off restoration... About 5 months ago the engine broke. I have no idea what happened, I went to start it one day and it would not crank right, Then the oil came out of the breather as I was cranking it and then it wouldn't even do that. So I think its safe to say its (Broke Bad). I have had zero time to fix it. Thought I would thats why I kept it this long (but it isn't happening) time to sell :( The rest of it I will try to describe as best as I can.... The Good news: The V8 Conversion is already done and been tested. This truck is fast and mean when running, its got the sick flowmaster tone and the turbo 350 shifted great. I kept the stock serpentine system. The blinkers work, the power steering works, I never tested the heat (FLA) but I pretty sure it works too. ( Its just a swap over or fix to get this baby rolling again). Carb,Cam, Headers, alum. radiator, electric fans, full flowmaster exhaust all the way to the back, Full Autometer gauges (and they all work including gas gauge and speedo are all hooked up already) Interior is pretty nice, the little fold out seats are cool and mint. Custom Dash plus all covers under hood etc. and I am sure I forgot something. This truck is very soild and is not rotted out or nothing. This truck drives nice and tight/ there were no crazy rattles and goes straight as an arrow. All the nickel and dime stuff that you will need to start from scratch on a base project........$$ The Bad News: (Besides the internals in the engine) The clearcoat is peeling most on the hood and roof. Picture This ( Hot Rod Black on Hood Roof and both front fenders for a paint layout and leave it from the doors back blue.) or something cool like that......That was my plan... Some little dents, the worst is the top of front fender (pass side) and the back driver side corner and driver tail light got cracked. (backed the boat into it.. ouch), but I have a good set of stockers that come with it). There is a tear in the driver seat base. The front bumper is tacked to the frame rails because somebody at one point damaged the tips where it connects (Bumper looks Ok) (SEE PIC) The radio is not connected only because I never did the final cover on the custom console. The a/c is there, it just needs a couple of parts to get that working too. I had z28 camaro wheels on it (Sorry their on my other car now) So I put the stock wheels back on it to get it around. (SLEEPER?) If you decide to keep these on here, you will need tires. Yes, this truck needs some stuff but it is an easy project without all the guess work, (Just the fun we knew on these NO BRAINER BULIDS) and I hope some of the younger guys are still getting into this "Great Hobby" as well. Plus save some money, LOTS OF VALUE IN PARTS HERE and have some fun in the process. Its not a 30 grand car.....Fix the motor/ Slap on some Primer and have a blast without the big bucks that never get done anyway.... Its one of those cars...( IS THAT NOT WHAT THIS IS ALL SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT ANYWAY?) This auction is budget minded for someone who really wants it and does not have a lot to spend, that wants something thats to cool and complete to part out...... (The price is what the metals worth) NO RESERVE.......... If you are coming to get it or have it picked up I will of course help the driver get it loaded on the hauler anyway I can. It will need to be picked up in Port St. Lucie FLA. (about 45mins from West Palm Beach) .........Thanks !! The Item is described to the best of my knowledge and is used and therefore is sold as is and I have the right to end the auction early due to local sale. Item will not ship until full payment is clear. |

Looking back at the Citation IV concept that likely shaped the GM EV1
Wed, Aug 20 2014Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it. We're not sure how that applies to the GM EV1, but we'd still like to share something from Autoline Daily, an online automotive new show with our friend John McElroy. He's been covering the business for decades now and recently found something interesting: pictures of the 1984 Chevrolet Citation IV concept, seen above. Displayed half a decade before the first electric concept that would become the EV1 (inset), McElroy says it's now clear that the elegant, aerodynamic EV1 took a lot of styling cues from the Citation IV, which was developed in part thanks to GM's new-at-the-time Aerodynamics Laboratory. We agree with him that the spats over the rear wheels, the flush glass, and the covered headlights all bear a certain kind of similarity between the two cars. That the colors almost match is a nice coincidence. The Impact (the concept version of the EV1) looked "frumpier," McElroy says, because it wasn't as long as the Citation. You can read a lot more about the Citation IV here and check out McElroy's thoughts in the video below. Find the Citation starting at around 3:45. This content is hosted by a third party. GM claims it's first to sell million 30+ mpg vehicles
Fri, 04 Jan 2013As we continue to put together all the data for the year-end edition of By The Numbers, General Motors has announced that it sold more than a million vehicles in the US last year that achieved at least 30 miles per gallon on the highway. More impressively, GM managed this feat using multiple strategies including small vehicle size, turbocharged engines and hybrid or plug-in technologies across four brands (Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC) accounting for 13 separate models. This number will grow even more in 2013 thanks to cars like the all-electric Spark, the diesel Cruze, the range-extended Cadillac ELR and the Buick Encore compact CUV.
GM's small car sales were up 39 percent last year helping to attain this million-sales mark for 30-mpg models, and almost 40 percent of all GM sales consisted of cars with fuel-efficient I4 engines. In regards to more advanced means of improving fuel economy, GM says that it plans on having 500,000 vehicles with "some form of electrification" on the road by 2017.

Chevrolet To Oversee Restoring Sinkhole Corvettes
Fri, Feb 14 2014What Mother Earth devoured, Chevrolet plans to resurrect. The carmaker said Thursday it will oversee restoration of the classic cars swallowed by a huge sinkhole beneath the National Corvette Museum in Kentucky. General Motors Design in Warren, Mich., will manage the painstaking work to repair the eight prize vehicles, the automaker said Thursday. The cars were consumed when the earth opened up early Wednesday beneath a display area when the museum in Bowling Green, Ky., was closed. No injuries were reported. The museum was open Thursday except for the area where the sinkhole occurred. Mark Reuss, GM's head of global product development, said the damaged vehicles rank as "some of the most significant in automotive history." "There can only be one 1-millionth Corvette ever built," he said, referring to one of the damaged cars. "We want to ensure as many of the damaged cars are restored as possible so fans from around the world can enjoy them." Just how the cars will be pulled out of the ground remains to be seen, said museum executive director Wendell Strode. The local fire department estimated the hole is about 40 feet across and 25 to 30 feet deep. The hole opened beneath part of the museum's domed section. "We feel pretty confident that most of the cars can be extracted," Strode said Thursday. "And we hope and believe that with just a little bit of luck, that all eight cars can be extracted and be part of the restoration." Chevrolet spokesman Monte Doran said some of the cars look to be in good shape, while others are buried in rubble. "It will likely be several weeks until we can get the cars out and assessed," he said. The GM Design team has helped restore other historic cars, but the Corvette project looks to be its biggest, he said. "These Corvettes are part of our history, and they want them restored properly," Strode said. "We're thrilled they're doing this." The cars looked like toys as they plunged into the hole, piled in a heap amid dirt and concrete fragments. The museum owns six of the cars while two - a 1993 ZR-1 Spyder and a 2009 ZR1 Blue Devil - are on loan from General Motors. The other cars damaged were a 1962 black Corvette, a 1984 PPG Pace Car, a 1992 White 1 Millionth Corvette, a 1993 Ruby Red 40th Anniversary Corvette, a 2001 Mallett Hammer Z06 Corvette and a 2009 white 1.5 Millionth Corvette. Pictures of the sinkhole showed a collapsed section of floor with multiple cars visible inside the hole.
