SELLER REMARKS |

Pickup trucks are just a popular segment in the classic car hobby as muscle cars are, and the early 50's Chevy 3100 is certainly one of the higher demand pickups to have. This 1952 Chevrolet 3100 brings traditional style and major custom touches to a package that is appealing enough to show or cruise around town in.
It's probably not hard to realize that the burgundy paint on this 3100 wasn't a factory option in 1952, but it's definitely hard to argue that the smooth hue doesn't look great on the body of this pickup. The handsome color lays flat on the truck's body panels and it's hard to find any flaws. That paint is highlighted by a great looking chrome grill up front with a 'Chevrolet' badge that appears to have seen very little wear or fading. There is a chrome bumper under that grill, and out back is another chrome bumper is topped by chrome tail lights. Take a peek inside that pickup bed and you'll fall in love with the stained oak panels that line the bed and look absolutely great. With that body sitting on 16'' 5-spoke Torque Thrust wheels it's an exterior package that looks very cool, but subdued at the same time.
Inside is a custom interior that is a welcoming environment for Sunday drives and Saturday cruise-ins. It features cloth bucket seats that have been sourced from a late model car. Between those buckets is a custom console that serves as an arm rest with a convenient storage compartment inside. The dash is painted silver and remains in its traditional configuration with the addition of four auxiliary gauges from Classic Industries to measure volts, fuel level, oil pressure, and water temperature. Controls for the air conditioning are mounted underneath, while a long gear selector for the transmission is within easy reach of the driver. Connecting the driver is a modern steering wheel that sits on a tilting column.
Lift the hood to a very attractive engine bay that features silver paint lining the fenders and firewall. Nestled inside is 350 cubic inch V8 that has been dressed up with a chrome air cleaner, chrome valve covers, and a polished alternator. That small block has been beefed up with a Holley carburetor, a Weiand intake manifold, Delco electronic ignition, and after market headers. Dual electric fans keep things cool, and it exhales spent gasses through a stainless steel dual exhaust system with glasspack mufflers for an aggressive sound. A 3-speed automatic transmission handles shifting duties, while an independent rear end from a Chevy Corvette takes care of the traction. A rack and pinion front end has been installed and supplemented with power steering and power four-wheel disc brakes.
This '52 Chevy 3100 is a great truck to take out and enjoy. You may be a little hesitant to take it to the hardware store for a sheetrock run, but you certainly won't think twice about showing it off at the local cruise-in and shows. Call today!

In a poll of drivers in Portland, more than 80 percent said they would be driving an EV in the next 10 years if they weren't already. The poll was small and not scientific, with just 218 votes cast, but it does reflect a slice of a certain population with changing attitudes toward electric mobility, and 80 percent is an impressive figure. Additionally, 43 percent of respondents planned to have an EV in the next five years, and only 18 percent said they prefer gasoline-powered vehicles. With EVs in many ways repeating the adoption process that hybrids went through a decade ago, the five- or ten-year timeframe for more widespread use seems only natural. His Chevrolet Volt has been ticketed for parking six times since he took office. Granted, those street-sweeping signs are tough to keep track of, but his car has been photographed blocking at a bus stop while grabbing a burrito (who hasn't sinned in the name of a delicious burrito?), and was even caught parked in a crosswalk. The tickets were all dismissed. Read more from the SF Gate. Tesla is looking for office space in Silicon Valley. As the electric car company continues to search for a place to build its $4- to $5-billion battery Gigafactory, it also needs some real estate to expand its operations near its Palo Alto home. Tesla has expanded from 3,000 to 6,000 California-based employees since the end of 2012, and plans to add 500 more by the end of the year. It is currently looking for 200,000 to 300,000 square feet of office space close to its Fremont factory, according to sources in the real estate industry. BYD has debuted a 60-foot electric bus at the American Public Transportation Association Expo in Houston, TX. The Lancaster bus, as it is called, has a 120-passenger capacity and can drive over 170 miles on a single charge. The articulated bus features low floors and no steps, thanks to in-wheel hub motors. BYD also displayed a 40-foot electric bus that drove the 1,500 miles to the show under its own power (recharging along the way, of course). Read more in the press release below. Honda says it will continue to sell hybrids in Europe, despite the fact that it has stopped selling the CR-Z and Insight due to slow sales. "Our focus at the moment is on our 1.6-liter diesel but we haven't forgotten about hybrid technology," says Honda Europe's Philip Ross. Honda will sell the next-generation Fit (badged as the Jazz) in Europe when it launches next summer, and will sell the next-gen hybrid version beginning in 2016. Honda sold 4,500 of the Jazz hybrid in Europe last year. Read more at Automotive News. XL Hybrids is selling its XL3 Hybrid Electric Drive System in California. The news comes after the California Air Resources Board issued an executive order allowing the aftermarket hybrid conversion for 2012-2014 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans. The XL3 Hybrid regenerative braking conversion increases real-world mpg by about 25 percent. Read more in the press release below. NRG eVgo has finished installing 60 charging stations at the Sony Pictures Entertainment studio lot and offices in Culver City, California. The Level 2 chargers, which will be managed by NRG eVgo, allow employees to charge their EVs during the workday. An average of 90 EVs and PHEVs park at the studio headquarters every day, thanks in part to Sony Pictures' Alternative Vehicles Incentive program for its employees. Learn more in the press release below. Pennsylvania's Public Utility Commission will allow operators of EV charging stations to set prices based on kilowatt hour usage. This change ensures that drivers pay for the actual energy they use, rather than the time they spend charging, since different cars can charge at different speeds. Car Charging Group has already begun using the per-kWh fee structure at its charging stations throughout the state. Other states that allow kWh pricing are California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, Oregon, Virginia and Washington. Read more in the press release below.

Bentley has been awarded the Carbon Trust Standard for reductions of carbon, water use and waste production in manufacturing. The Carbon Trust is an organization that helps groups such as businesses and governments reduce carbon emissions, use of energy and resources, and waste output. From 2011 to 2013, Bentley reduced CO2 emissions by 16 percent per car manufactured, curtailed water use by 35.7 percent, and saw significant waste reductions. Darran Messem of Carbon trust says, "Bentley is clearly passionate about continuing to improve its environmental performance, which is reflected by the fact the company has consistently invested in new technology." Read more in the press release below. Chevrolet is giving 12 Volts to MBAs Across America. The organization will use the range-extended electric cars in its efforts to help MBA students learn from and work with small business owners. As part of the MBAs Across America program's first year, four students drove 8,000 miles to provide entrepreneurs with free business counseling. The program has expanded, and this year, teams of MBAs will use the Volts to travel to 25 cities to offer their services. Learn more about the partnership between Chevrolet and MBAs Across America in the press release below. A professor from the University of Michigan has found fuel cycle analysis to be too flawed to be relied upon for measuring CO2 impacts of transportation fuels. Professor John DeCicco of the university's Energy Institute feels that the flaws in calculating the carbon footprint of liquid fuel production and combustion make such lifecycle analysis impractical. He suggests, instead, to focus to carbon capture. Since capturing CO2 directly from a vehicle is probably never going to happen, DiCicco believes the solution is to capture carbon from the atmosphere in sectors outside of transportation. Says DiCicco, "Research should be ramped up on options for increasing the rate at which CO2 is removed from the atmosphere and on programs to manage and utilize carbon fixed in the biosphere, which offers the best CO2 removal mechanism now at hand. Such strategies can complement measures that control the demand for liquid fuels by reducing travel activity, improving vehicle efficiency and shifting to non-carbon fuels." Read more at Green Car Congress. Global transportation energy consumption is expected to increase by 25.4 percent by 2035, according to a report by Navigant Research.
