Truck originally from Oregon. VERY solid body! Cab corners, steps, door pillars are all solid. Even the small deflectors under the cab corners are there and intact! Lower door hinge on driver's door has been previously welded (see picture). Front fenders and headlight openings, rear fenders, box steps are all solid. Tailgate is a bit beat up, and rusty where license plate was attached. Dash is intact with no cut-outs, floor is solid. Seat needs recovering. New rad, water pump, hoses, brakes and exhaust. Engine starts easily and runs well for being 56 years old but would need a rebuild. Haven't driven it on the road but have moved it around the farm easily. Forward and reverse gears all work, headlights and turn signals work. Tires are all 60 %, spare included. Body has MINOR dings here and there, but is in excellent shape for the most part.

Deposit of $500.00 within 48 hours required by PayPal. Balance within 7 days by cashier's cheque/bank draft or cash in person. I am located close to US border near Blaine, WA and will deliver to Canadian side of border for you. You load it up and take it from there! For Canadian buyers, all import documents are in hand to have this truck inspected and registered. Currently registered in Oregon.

If you are familiar with the Chevrolet trucks of this era, you will appreciate the condition that this truck is in. If you have hot-rodded or restored vehicles before, you will know that you are WAY further ahead to spend a bit more and buy a solid truck, than to buy a cheap piece of rust and start buying and welding in patch panels. The pictures speak for themselves!

All questions welcome. Serious buyers only please. I will not make any shipping arrangements, nor do I know what companies charge.

Chevy Corvette Stingray "colorizer" lets you chase the rainbow

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

After you've convinced your better half to let you buy a new Corvette, then comes the hard part... actually figuring out which 'Vette you want. While Chevrolet has yet to release the official configurator for the 2014 Corvette Stingray, it did give us something else to kill some time playing around with.
The C7 Corvette "colorizer" recently went online, and it lets you look at the car in all of its available colors and wheel options from four different angles so that when this car does go on sale, you know exactly which one you want. It includes the Corvette's full pallet of colors including Torch Red, Laguna Blue and the hue you see above, Velocity Yellow. Toss in the black wheels, and we're sold. If you have some time this afternoon, be sure to check it out the Corvette colorizer for yourself, and even if you don't have the time, we've put together a gallery with all of the possible color combinations.

Hot air balloons caught in high winds drag fullsize SUV

Mon, Jul 20 2015

A sudden storm front whipped up enough wind to send some hot air balloons flying into the air in Wisconsin over the weekend. One ballon proved so energetic that it was able to drag a fullsize SUV across a field and into a stand of tents. The freak accident occurred at Balloonfest in Waterford, Wisconsin. Spectators were horrified as balloons dragged handlers to the ground and launched with terrified pilots clinging to their baskets. Organizers had started packing up the colorful balloons due to ominous storm clouds when the wind kicked up. "Happened just like that; it was crazy," Nathan Fricke, crew member, told Fox 6. Winds were clocked at 40 to 50 miles per hour. A balloon caught in the wind dragged a large SUV (we think a Suburban or Yukon XL) hundreds of feet and into a cluster of tents on the edge of the staging area where balloons were on display for festival goers. Considering that the SUV surely weighs well over 5,000 pounds, it's lucky that no one was injured in the incident. News Source: Fox6Now Weird Car News Chevrolet GM GMC SUV

Chevy up to old EVs-equal-range-anxiety tricks in new Volt Olympics ad

Fri, Feb 14 2014

General Motors is at it again with a new Chevrolet Volt TV commercial. Viewers of the Winter Olymics (at least in some markets) recently saw a TV ad in between the skating and the skiing that made no mention of the environmental benefits or freedom from the power of Big Oil that electric vehicles provide. No, this one was based on pure survival instinct. In the video, a father is driving down a highway, perhaps through the Mojave Desert. His young son is sitting in the Volt's backseat and asks what happens when the EV's battery runs out. "We'll have to cross that burning desert with snakes and cactus until we make it back to civilization," the dad tells his son as they pass the skeleton of a fallen bull. The fine print makes it clear that the actual maximum range is 342 miles. But there is hope. The father tells his son, with a beaming smile on his face, that the gas generator has kicked in and they're going to make it through the desert. As they wend their way to the horizon, a voice over says that Volt drivers who charge up regularly are making it 900 miles between fill ups. The fine print makes it clear that the actual official maximum range before you need to either plug in or fill up is 342 miles. This theme that emphasized range anxiety has been utilized by GM since the extended range Volt was launched in late 2010, despite the fact that Chevrolet now offers an all-electric vehicle in the Spark EV. Volt fans are praising the commercial, called The New Freedom, on the GM-Volt forum and you can see for yourself below. This content is hosted by a third party.
