1986 one ton Chevrolet Truck (Dual Wheels on rear). I believe it has the 350 engine but not 100% sure. It does have a four speed manual transmission. The engine runs great. I have not had it on long hauls, usually not over 100 miles from home. I haven't had any problems with oil consumption, bad liquid leaks (none that I know of). Once in a while the gear shift will pop out of third gear. The tires look to be in pretty good condition. When it sits for days, as it usually does, the tires will bump when you first take off until they roll for awhile. I believe this is fairly common in the larger trucks. The transmission, other than popping out of third gear once in a while, works great. The frame, especially on the driver side is very rusty. I have hauled lumber, saw dust, junk, you name it, on the truck and have had no problems but I want to make you aware that the frame will need fixed or replaced. The truck has recently had the master cylinder, alternator and fuel pump replaced. The previous owner had some brake work done. The rear for sure, not positive about the front. The brakes work great. The heater works fine. There are some rust holes that let in the outside air, (floor boards for example). A couple of months ago the fuel filter started filling up with particles from the gas tank and after changing the filter about three times I disconnected the fuel line from the tank and am currently using a five gallon can. Not the safest way fix but I don't smoke nor drive it very often. The tank will need to be taken off and cleaned and the line reconnected. I do have a clear title. Mechanically, as far as I know, there is nothing wrong with the truck, other than the third gear issue. The body is rough, the windshield has a small area that is cracked, looks like a rock may have hit it. A picture is included in this listing. I currently have some left over lumber on the bed from a home improvement job so there is no pictures of the bed. I will have it unloaded before the end of sale. It does have a steel bed with metal racks. The truck did have a fifth wheel hitch that the previous owner had removed. The bed has at least one fairly small rusted through place on the bed. I remember it from when I was shoveling saw dust off the truck. Not major but can be an issue. I have tried to list everything negative that I know of, please see the pictures before bidding. If you have questions please ask and I will try and answer them. The truck runs good, it does have issues, rust for example. Lots of it. It is not very economical to drive. I think I usually get about ten to twelve miles per gallon. It is geared low so the slower that you drive it on the open road, probably the better the gas mileage. Other than the gas tank being disconnected, I would not be afraid to take off in it and head cross country. The truck will be your responsibility to move, no great hurry, a couple weeks or so will be fine. I am selling it as-is, no guarantees. The rust is pretty bad.

2016 Chevy Colorado Duramax gets 31 mpg highway
Mon, Nov 9 2015The 2016 Chevrolet Colorado Duramax and its similarly diesel-powered GMC Canyon sibling are the most fuel-efficient new trucks on the market in America. The Environmental Protection Agency estimates 31 miles per gallon highway, 22 mpg city, and 25 mpg combined for two-wheel-drive Colorado and Canyon diesels. That's just good enough to take the pickup fuel-economy title from the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel HFE, which carries EPA estimates of 29 mpg highway, 21 mpg city, and 24 mpg combined. Four-wheel-drive models offer slightly lower economy figures of 29/20/23, respectively. Drivers can cover quite some distance, too – the GM twins' 21-gallon tanks mean a maximum range of 651 miles.
Your browser does not support iframes.
Diesel's reputation may be somewhat tarnished in the US after Volkswagen's emissions scandal, but Chevy wants to assure potential customers that there are no tricks with the Colorado's figures. The pickup's engine features NOx-reducing tech like exhaust gas recirculation, and the EPA and California Air Resources Board recently chose the truck to take the additional step of real-world emissions tests. The 2.8-liter Duramax four-cylinder with 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque had no problems with the more stringent evaluation, and "the agency expressed no issues or concerns," according to the company's statement. The diesel Colorado goes on sale this fall, and the Duramax costs $3,730 over a similarly equipped V6 model. We've gone ahead and included dueling press releases from both Chevy and GMC below for your reading pleasure. The EPA-estimated highway fuel economy for 2016 Colorado four-wheel drive diesel is 29 mpg. The EPA has issued a Certificate of Conformity for the Chevrolet Colorado Duramax diesel. The agency expressed no issues or concerns following its recent extensive testing and evaluation of the emission control system on the Colorado Duramax diesel.
Bring back the Bronco! Trademarks we hope are actually (someday) future car names
Tue, Mar 17 2015Trademark filings are the tea leaves of the auto industry. Read them carefully – and interpret them correctly – and you might be previewing an automaker's future product plans. Yes, they're routinely filed to maintain the rights to an iconic name. And sometimes they're only for toys and clothing. But not always. Sometimes, the truth is right in front of us. The trademark is required because a company actually wants to use the name on a new car. With that in mind, here's a list of intriguing trademark filings we want to see go from paperwork to production reality. Trademark: Bronco Company: Ford Previous Use: The Bronco was a long-running SUV that lived from 1966-1996. It's one of America's original SUVs and was responsible for the increased popularity of the segment. Still, it's best known as O.J. Simpson's would-be getaway car. We think: The Bronco was an icon. Everyone seems to want a Wrangler-fighter – Ford used to have a good one. Enough time has passed that the O.J. police chase isn't the immediate image conjured by the Bronco anymore. Even if we're doing a wish list in no particular order, the Bronco still finds its way to the top. For now (unfortunately), it's just federal paperwork. Rumors on this one can get especially heated. The official word from a Ford spokesman is: "Companies renew trademark filings to maintain ownership and control of the mark, even if it is not currently used. Ford values the iconic Bronco name and history." Trademarks: Aviator, AV8R Company: Ford Previous Use: The Aviator was one of the shortest-run Lincolns ever, lasting for the 2003-2005 model years. It never found the sales success of the Ford Explorer, with which it shared a platform. We Think: The Aviator name no longer fits with Lincoln's naming nomenclature. Too bad, it's better than any other name Lincoln currently uses, save for its former big brother, the Navigator. Perhaps we're barking up the wrong tree, though. Ford has made several customized, aviation themed-Mustangs in the past, including one called the Mustang AV8R in 2008, which had cues from the US Air Force's F-22 Raptor fighter jet. It sold for $500,000 at auction, and the glass roof – which is reminiscent of a fighter jet cockpit – helped Ford popularize the feature. Trademark: EcoBeast Company: Ford Previous Use: None by major carmakers.
Refreshed 2014 Camaro confirmed for New York debut
Thu, 07 Mar 2013We've already seen leaked specs and potential spy shots, but the refreshed 2014 Chevrolet Camaro will make its official debut at the New York Auto Show in a few weeks.
Besides a tweaked exterior and the possibility of a high-output LS7 under the hood, we really don't know much else about the 2014 Camaro, but here's hoping for an improved interior, too.
In addition to the refreshed Camaro, Chevrolet will also be showing off the recently introduced Chevrolet SS, making its debut on the auto show circuit, and we'll also get our first look at the C7 Corvette coupe and convertible side-by-side.
