up for auction is this 1984 chevy one ton 4x4 cab and chassis dually which was ordered from the factory as a wreaker. I have all the orginal paper work where it was ordered and the company who added the wreaker bed at the time. I have a clear north Carolina title, it has a 454 engine and a 3speed manual transmission with low gear (granny). it has the PTO unit on back of trans, locking front hubs, front and rear wheel simulators and brake lock. the cab is in excellent shape with no rust holes in floor pans or rockers there is a small amount of surface rust near the windshield and paint is chipping on the windshield wiper cowl panel. the gear ratio is 410 front and rear. the engine has the orginal block which has the stamped vin # but the heads are (pass) and date code is 11-74. engine runs excellent with no smoking and has a new holley carburetor on it. truck runs and drives but needs the left front tire changed as I have one to be put on.the PTO tank has been removed as well as the drivers side gas tank. a/c compressor was left off when headers were added. the dash has some splits in it as well as the bench seat is warn. the power window motor both right and left work very good. the truck is in Lincolnton, nc . winning bidder will be responsible for shipping. a deposit of 500.00 will be required within 24 hr of bid ending and transaction must be completed with in 3 days. GM recalling nearly 4,000 vehicles over airbag concerns
Thu, 31 Jan 2013Four different General Motors vehicles from the 2012 model year are being recalled over a potential airbag issue. The driver's side airbag shorting bar in the 2012 Buick Verano and 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, Cruze and Sonic might make contact with the airbag terminals, even during a crash. If so, the airbag won't deploy when it should, possibly increasing injury to the driver.
The recall is expected to begin on February 13 for the 3,896 units that might be affected. GM will notify owners who can then take their vehicles to dealers to have the airbag coil replaced. A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration below has more info.
GM investing $167m in Spring Hill for new midsize vehicles
Tue, 06 Aug 2013General Motors has announced a large investment in its Spring Hill, Tennessee facility. The former home of Saturn production will be getting a $167 million addition to a previously announced $183 million, to cover a pair of new midsize vehicles. The investment is expected to create 1,800 jobs at the factory.
That $350 million is being divvied up for a pair of programs at Spring Hill. The first will take the bulk of the money ($223 million) and create 1,000 of the 1,800 jobs, while the other will take the remaining $127 million and generate the leftover 800 positions. But GM says the investment will cover "midsize vehicle programs." So what could they be?
The leading candidate in our minds is a new crossover for Buick, called the Anthem, that will slot between the Encore and Enclave, but will be slightly smaller than the Equinox and Terrain. As we've explained, the new model will likely be the first product to sport GM's new D2UX platform, which will eventually replace both the Delta and Theta platforms. Spring Hill is already building the Equinox, so there could be some credence to this theory.
Suzuki recalls 2 million cars globally
Wed, Apr 22 2015Suzuki is recalling two million vehicles across the globe, including a number of Chevrolet Cruze sedans that it builds for General Motors, because the ignition switches may begin to smoke. None of the Cruzes being recalled were sold in the US, though. This recall is limited to the Japanese, European and Australian markets. In Suzuki's home market, 1,873,000 vehicles are being recalled, including the Cruze and a number kei cars built for Mazda (the Carol and AZ-Wagon), as well as the automaker's own Alto, Wagon R and Swift. Affected vehicles were built between 1998 and 2009. The remaining 133,000 vehicles include Cruzes and other Suzuki products sold in Europe and Australia. There have been no reports of injuries or accidents due to the 67 reported incidents, all of which come from the Japanese market, a Suzuki spokesperson told Automotive News. Related Video:
