I am listing this so called "politically incorrect " truck for a friend. He bought it from a gentleman who was tried of paying for government bureaucracy (taxes). Having no say in the governments decisions, he decided to express himself the only way he knew would get someones attention. He vented his frustrations along with his lack of power through his favorite old truck. Alas, "obama care" was born. This truck features his version of the medical equipment, quality of patient services, and prescription options he feels this plan could provide. This includes a real aluminum coffin for those unfortunates whom he believes may not fully benefit from our governments latest endeavor to make entitlement a continuous way of life. With various other pictures, bumper stickers and assorted paraphernalia, he also expresses his views on other hot political topics. This "rust-o-mode" rat truck(complete with rats)and visual political statement has been viewed all over the world via the net. The previous owner has recieved reports of sightings from the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. It draws a lot of attention where ever it goes.(Mostly positive) The gentleman who put this truck together says that if he had a dollar for every picture taken of it, he is positive he would be a millionaire. The patina is incredible.

OC is powered by a 250 CI 6 cylinder motor with approximately 45K miles. The transmission is a 3-speed column shift. All lights, turn signals, and wipers work properly. It drives good for its age, cruising @ 60-65 mph. The grille guard is a genuine"Smash Hit", made in Waco, Texas. The fuel cell is an 11 gallon plastic boat tank located in the bed. (I would replace it soon). The bed would need to be replaced for hauling heavier cargo.

New parts include:

Clutch, pressue plate & throwout bearing
4 New radial tires
Front and rear U-joints
All belts & hoses
Reconditioned stock radiator
New (4) wheel cylinders

Negatives:
Uses a little oil due to brittle valve guide seals
Passenger door requires an aggresive closing technic(push hard)
Both are easily repaired, but not necessary.

Please email question or offers and I will forward them to the seller. I will forward the phone number of any serious potential buyer to the seller as well. Please, no scammers, tire kickers, sports bidders. You attention to this request will be greatfull appreciated by all concerned.
Thank you and Happy bidding

GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes

Mon, 01 Oct 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.

Weekly Recap: Tesla loses money, still dominates the news

Sat, Aug 8 2015

Some people get an inordinate amount of attention. In politics, it's Donald Trump. In football, it's Jim Harbaugh. And in the auto world, it's Elon Musk and his always-fascinating electric car company, Tesla Motors. General Motors is spending $877 million to upgrade a factory. So what! US auto sales are up. Who cares? Tesla has a metal snake that will recharge your car! So was the week in Tesla – er, the industry. Snarkiness aside, Tesla did dominate the news cycle, led by the announcement the company lost $184 million in the second quarter. Tesla also said it expects to deliver between 50,000 and 55,000 vehicles this year, and is preparing for a full launch of the Model X crossover in September. Musk also made news during the earnings call by simply not answering a question about ride sharing, leading to speculation Tesla could be considering its own operation. While the financials were the arguably the most important company news, reports of a Model S cyber hacking were more compelling fodder for Tesla followers. Researchers were able to attack the sedan and bring it to a stop, though they required access to the car first. Tesla says it already has deployed a remedy for the situation. On a lighter note, Tesla published a video of its metal charger prototype that autonomously uncoils like a snake to power up the company's vehicles, provoking plenty of humorous comments and comparisons. Watch it and decide for yourself. While some of this might seem trivial, much of Tesla's recent attention has been warranted. It's the first startup US automaker in decades to launch from nothing and actually gain traction in the market. Sure, Musk is a lightning rod and Tesla always seems to be in the spotlight. But amid all of the publicity, it easy to lose sight of the new reality: Tesla is a force. OTHER NEWS & NOTES 2016 Chevy Volt lights up 106 MPGe The Chevy Volt's vitals are looking healthier for 2016. The second-generation plug-in hybrid racks up a gaudy 106 miles per gallon equivalent, which is an increase of eight MPGe from the 2015 model. The new Volt can travel 53 miles on electricity, a significant jump from the 2015 Volt's 38-mile range. The new car also has a 420-mile total range when factoring in the capability of the gasoline engine, which is 40 miles greater than the current car offers.

Take a close look at the guts of the Chevy Volt battery, powertrain

Sat, Aug 9 2014

Just how intimate would you like to get with the powertrain in a Chevy Volt? If you're anything like YouTube user d55guy, then spending a half hour filming yourself taking apart the battery pack, motor, inverter and more for a look inside sounds like your idea of fun. After all, this way you get to see the cooling system, the heavy safety kill switch and count up the individual cells in the battery modules. Fun! Turns out, we also enjoy languidly paced Volt dissection video goodness, and we think you might want to see it as well. So, we've embedded two videos below and if you don't have a better understanding of how the Volt is put together after watching them, well, at least you can't say we never tried to show you anything. Given that what's really happening here is the organized 'destruction' of an expensive and potentially dangerous object, let's talk safety. There's a serious disclaimer at the beginning of the videos and on the YouTube description page, but we feel the need to repeat the gist of it here: do not try this at home. The creator of the video says he is a trained engineer and has been doing things like this "for the better part of a decade," so he apparently knows what he's doing. With that in mind, watch it all below. When you're done seeing the insides of a Volt powertrain up close, if you need more filmed EV dissection/destruction, check out this video designed for first responders approaching a damaged Tesla Model S.
