1957 Chevy Pickup- SWB V-8 Apache Project. It has a small block V8 engine with 350 automatic transmission. Has front clip with power brakes and steering. I've had this truck for a while, and had big plans to complete but was not meant to be. It don't really need that much to be road ready, needs a little wiring. Pipes hooked up and new power steering hoses. and other stuff I have overlooked. It has good engine and trans but has been sitting up. The previous owner let the hood fly up and dented the cab. That is why the hood is a different color. It also needs hood hinges. I have the original title in my name and currant tag receipt. It is titled as a 57, but it may have some 55-56 parts? It's a pretty cool old truck. Very little rust. Much better than most. A friend of mine came over a few days ago and cranked it but I think he messed with timing and carb and got the timing off. I am selling as is. I love the old truck but just don't have the patience any more. Pleas remember it is not road worthy yet. Will have to be trailored. Please call me for a better description. Corvette Z06 and Viper TA square off at the strip
Wed, Jan 21 2015There are many long-standing grudge matches among automobiles: 911 vs GT-R, Mustang vs Camaro, Ferrari vs Lamborghini... but as far as high-end American metal goes, it doesn't get much more legendary than Viper vs 'Vette. So after Chevy released the new Corvette Z06, we knew it was only a matter of time before it would have to square off against the Viper TA. And what better place to pit these two parallel pillars of American performance than on the drag strip? Fortunately that's just what we have here. In one corner, the 2014 Dodge Viper TA, with its 8.4-liter V10 pumping out 640 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque. In the other, the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, the supercharger on its 6.2-liter V8 more than making up for the discrepancy in displacement and cylinder count to produce 650 hp and just as much torque. But numbers don't tell the whole story, so watch the video clip to see which reaches the end of the quarter-mile first. Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept blends the past and the future
Wed, 19 Nov 2014The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo is the rare concept car that salutes a seminal moment in history, yet also borders on science fiction.
Revealed Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the concept uses the name of one of Chevy's historic racing partnerships, with Chaparral Racing, which dates to the 1960s. Chaparrals raced successfully at a range of levels, including IndyCar, Trans-Am and SCCA competition.
But the history ends there, as the concept's main purpose is as a racecar in a downloadable update for the PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo 6.
