Up for sale is a 1956 Chevy Pickup. I purchased it in May of 2011. It has a clear Ohio title. I purchased it from a guy that had stored it in a barn in Ohio for the better part of 25 years. The engine did not run when it was purchased. The truck is setup for a manual transmission. I bought it with the intentions of making it a "shop truck" or "rat rod". I have a few other projects and this one has really just sat in the garage. I have decided to part ways with it to the highest bidder and finish another project. I have pulled the engine and transmission out because the engine needed to be rebuilt. It had a 283 V8 in it when I bought it with a manual 4 speed. I am selling the truck without the engine and transmission. The engine is torn down and I was going to use it in another project after rebuilding. I may sell the engine seperately for additional money. The truck is in really good condition and very solid for its age. The undercarriage of the truck has been degreased and power washed. The truck has been garaged since I have owned it. I have never had the truck running or driving so I want to make sure anyone bidding understands it needs some work to make it road worthy again. All of the glass is in excellent shape. It has a new radiator that will go with it. It has a new seat cover and many miscellaneous parts. I have taken many detailed pictures. If you have any other questions please just ask and I will answer them as quickly as possible. A $500.00 non refundable deposit is required at the end of the auction to pay pal. The remaining money can be paid in cash only at the time of pickup. The truck will not leave my possession without being paid in full and the buyer is responsible for all notary and title fees. The buyer is respondsible to arrange shipping or pickup of the truck no more than 15 days after the end of the auction. The truck is being sold as is with no warranty. Someone is going to get a great old truck. Good Luck!

GM expected to debut two new crossovers at Detroit Auto Show
Thu, Dec 15 2016Next month, General Motors is expected to debut two new crossovers at the North American International Auto Show. That's according to Automotive News and The Wall Street Journal, which reports that the successors to the aging Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Terrain will finally make their debut. The two crossovers have been on sale since 2009 and 2010 respectively and are due for updates as the competition has newer models on the market. Both crossovers play in growing market segments where sales success is crucial for the respective brands. GM, and the automotive industry as a whole, has been shifting its focus towards crossovers in the last few years. The Traverse and the Terrain are some of the oldest SUVs on the market and are in dire need of an update. GMC's Acadia, the former corporate clone to the Traverse (and Buick Acadia), switched to a new platform in 2016. And the Terrain's platform-mate, the Chevrolet Equinox, was revealed a few months ago. Both the new Chevy and GMC models are expected to go on sale late in 2017 as 2018 models. Look for a follow up to the Traverse's sister, the Buick Enclave, to make an appearance soon. Chevy Corvette Stingray "colorizer" lets you chase the rainbow
Thu, 14 Feb 2013After you've convinced your better half to let you buy a new Corvette, then comes the hard part... actually figuring out which 'Vette you want. While Chevrolet has yet to release the official configurator for the 2014 Corvette Stingray, it did give us something else to kill some time playing around with.
The C7 Corvette "colorizer" recently went online, and it lets you look at the car in all of its available colors and wheel options from four different angles so that when this car does go on sale, you know exactly which one you want. It includes the Corvette's full pallet of colors including Torch Red, Laguna Blue and the hue you see above, Velocity Yellow. Toss in the black wheels, and we're sold. If you have some time this afternoon, be sure to check it out the Corvette colorizer for yourself, and even if you don't have the time, we've put together a gallery with all of the possible color combinations.
GM dealers unhappy about pickup prices
Mon, 21 Oct 2013The backlash is beginning. Following General Motors' price hike of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra last week, dealers across the country are expressing their ire over increasing prices in the face of rebates and discounts on trucks from Ford and Ram.
Speaking to Automotive News, Sam Pilato, the general manager at Dimmitt Chevrolet in Clearwater, FL, Silverados are "selling very poorly." W. Carrol Smith, the president of Monument Chevrolet in the heart of truck country, Texas, said, "[GM's] position is that the vehicle stands on its own and it doesn't need a bigger rebate. That's not what the market is telling us."
According to AN, that's the general attitude amongst Chevy and GMC dealers across the country, where the twin pickups are getting butchered in sales by competitors offering up to $9,000 off their sticker prices. Part of the problem for GM is that its trucks are arriving on the market near the end of the current F-150's lifecycle, a fact that Ford has taken advantage of.
