Up for auction is My 55 Chevy with a clean and clear title. This truck was completely restored 10 years ago and then gone through again last summer (upgraded). I drove it daily last summer, it a nice little classic cruiser. The small block V8 is from a 68 Impala and has a ton of performance mods, The transmission is a Turbo 400 and the rear end is a 10 bolt with air shocks. The front end was done right and is off a 70's Camaro. It has power disc, power steering and tilt wheel. Staggered 20" wheels, upgraded wiring harness including points conversion. All the switches, lights, gauges, dvd/stereo system things, are all brand new from last summer. Also the stainless and all the chrome are brand new bought and put on last summer.
The paint still has a great deep shine to it for being 10 years old but there are some nicks and scratches here and there (hints the primer and POR15 marks everywhere) As far as rust goes I cant find anything real serious, its a very solid ride. The glass has some cracks and the power windows are slower than they should be. The only complaint I ever had about this truck is the shifter being so tight but I never made the time to replace it, the truth is I just got use to it. It also is going to be too loud for most people as I had it strait piped off the headers.
I tried to get photos of all the angles but if You need more please let me know, If you would like to come see it please let me know, If You would like to have some sort of automotive professional come inspect it please let me know, If I forgot something please let me know, If you have any questions please let me know. Email works for me but if you want to text or talk, you can call my cell phone 253 226-0962 anytime.
I've sold more than a few cars here on Ebay over the years and never had any issues. I've found that cash payment in person works (if your coming to pick it up yourself) If not a bank to bank transfer is best for a non local buyer, I will also accept a cashiers check but I can't let the truck go before it clears (my bank isn't the fastest when processing checks) I expect some form of contact from the winning bidder with in 24 hours of the auctions ending and full payment with in 72 hours unless we agree on different terms, so please have your funds in order before bidding to own this rig. Also there is a lot of people that like to play games with these types of auctions from time to time, so I would like to ask them not to waste mine and other EBayers time and money, as we would never think of wasting yours.
I'm setting the reserve at half of what I would be asking if it had new glass and fresh paint (please don't ask what it is) and please don't ask what I would sell it for now by ending the auction early (I've put a lot more into it than the reserve). I'm only letting it go because I could use the money to get my 57 Belair finished and cruising this summer. If your coming to get the truck in person I will give You the Title and Bill of Sale then, If not I can express mail it after the payment clears. I have worked with and will work with your transport company as much as possible, I also can deliver the truck to a port in my local area free of charge. With the stance it has the front sits a little low so You might want to ask about that when getting a quote.
Thanks for looking and good luck finding your next classic car!
Here's a link for a couple short videos on it (sorry about the quality, I'm no camera man)

Consumer Reports no longer recommends Honda Civic
Mon, Oct 24 2016Consumer Reports annual Car Reliability Survey is out, and yes, there are some big surprises. First and foremost? The venerable publication no longer recommends the Honda Civic. In fact, aside from the walking-dead CR-Z and limited-release Clarity fuel-cell car, the Civic is the only Honda to miss out on CR's prestigious nod. At the opposite end there's a surprise as well – Toyota and Lexus remain the most reliable brands on the market, but Buick cracked the top three. That's up from seventh last year, and the first time for an American brand to stand on the Consumer Reports podium. Mazda's entire lineup earned Recommended checks as well. Consumer Reports dinged the Civic for its "infuriating" touch-screen radio, lack of driver lumbar adjustability, the limited selection of cars on dealer lots fitted with Honda's popular Sensing system, and the company's decision to offer LaneWatch instead of a full-tilt blind-spot monitoring system. Its score? A lowly 58. The Civic isn't the only surprise drop from CR's Recommended ranks. The Audi A3, Ford F-150, Subaru WRX/STI, and Volkswagen Jetta, GTI, and Passat all lost the Consumer Reports' checkmark. On the flipside, a number of popular vehicles graduated to the Recommended ranks, including the BMW X5, Chevrolet Camaro, Corvette, and Cruze, Hyundai Santa Fe, Porsche Macan, and Tesla Model S. Perhaps the biggest surprise is the hilariously recall-prone Ford Escape getting a Recommended check – considering the popularity of Ford's small crossover, this is likely a coup for the brand, as it puts the Escape on a level playing field with the Recommended Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Nissan Rogue. While Ford is probably happy to see CR promote the Escape, the list wasn't as kind for every brand. For example, of the entire Fiat Chrysler Automobiles catalog, the ancient Chrysler 300 was the only car to score a check – there wasn't a single Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Maserati, or Ram on the list. That hurts. FCA isn't alone at the low end, either. GMC, Jaguar Land Rover, Mini, and Mitsubishi don't have a vehicle on CR's list between them, while brands like Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Nissan, Lincoln, Infiniti, and Cadillac only have a few models each. Top horsepower-per-dollar cars in 2017
Tue, Feb 17 2015Bang for the buck. That quasi-scientific statistic is bandied about by motor heads everywhere from classrooms to barrooms, though the truth of the matter is that it's exceedingly complex to measure. A fair performance-per-dollar index would include something like cross-referencing MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) with point-to-point times on a track or driving route, which is obviously hard to do comprehensively. But, for the sheer joy of talking about cars and playing with a big spreadsheet, there's always the horsepower-per-dollar index, which is more straightforward, albeit hilariously flawed. There are vagaries even with this simple formula, of course: MSRP for vehicles can change at a moment's notice, to say nothing of the bottom-line shifting that happens with local deals or showroom negotiation. For this list we're running with the straight MSRP wherever possible, and as recently reported as we can get it. All the vehicles on this list are 2017 models, and all trims are reported where the lowest price and differing power levels intersect. Some choices were made for personal preference and some for sanity, avoiding things like all 48 trim levels of the Ford Transit, all with the same horsepower). If this list were a simple top ten, or even a top fifty, you'd be bored to tears with all the red, white and blue that is represented. Following perfectly with conventional wisdom, American cars really do lead the world where hp/$ is concerned. So, for the sake of variety (and the sheer joy of seeing a minivan 'win' one round of this thing) I've sorted out some top five and bottom five lists for broad power categories. Let's dive in. Less Than 100 Horsepower Okay, okay, this is hardly a category we'll grant you. But we've often tried to click off all the sub-100-hp cars on sale in the US, and making this list gave us an excuse. It also illustrates that none of these smallish vehicles bring cheap horsepower to the table - for that you'll need a motorcycle. The segment-leading Chevy Spark (above) asks just over $139 for each hp, and that Smart Fortwo Electric Drive has hp on sale for about the same price as its very distant family cousin, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (insert your favorite Smart joke here... we know you want to).
These are the 'Greenest' and 'Meanest' cars in 2015
Fri, Feb 6 2015As has become tradition, the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) has come up with a ranking of what it refers to as the "greenest" cars of 2015, and, by way of contrast, a list of the so-called "meanest" cars, so those who value eco-friendliness over all else can choose which vehicles they should or should not consider buying. As you may expect, electric cars make up the majority of the greenest cars on the list, but, perhaps surprisingly to many, the Tesla Model S didn't make the cut. It's worth noting, too, that where the electricity an owner uses to charge their electric vehicle has a big impact on its overall environmental impact. "A car that is charged using electricity generated from natural gas or renewables is going to have significantly less impact on the environment than one charged on a coal-heavy grid," says ACEEE lead vehicle analyst Shruti Vaidyanathan. The ACEEE's list for 2015 looks very different than it did in 2014. It's an interesting collection, though – and we're sure this goes without saying, really – we'd recommend doing a bit more research into each vehicle and how it might fit into your daily life before making any purchase decisions.
