1955 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup Truck First Series Short Stepside Original on 2040-cars

Year:1955 Mileage:44100
Location:

Kalama, Washington, United States

Kalama, Washington, United States

Up for sale is the very last of the First Series Chevrolet 3100 half ton short step side pickup trucks. 1955 was a split year for the Chevrolet truck. The first half of the 3100 model line of 1955 production was called the 'First Series'. At the mid point of Chevrolet's 1955 truck production they switched to an entirely different 'Second Series' truck, called the 'Task Force' series. This 1955 half ton 3100 model is a very nice find in that this truck is very rust free for a non restored vehicle. In the state we live in the roads are not salted in the winters. Therefore this truck does not have enormous amounts of rust usually found in other vehicles from states that do salt the roads in the winters. BOTH doors open and shut as flawlessly as the day this truck was built with ZERO slop at the hinges. The cab corners are absolutely rust free, as are the floorboards and the bottoms of the doors. There are dings and small dents in several places throughout, but as you can see from the supplied pictures these are minimal. Comes with stock seat, the original tin wraparound panel at the bottom of the seat, stock steering wheel and column.  The stock gauges are all in place and the dash is uncut and undamaged in any way. All the wheels are stock 16 inch and it comes with three original hubcaps and even the spare tire and spare fender mounting rack. I have loaded as many pictures as eBay allows me to (24 in all) to assist you in deciding if this truck is right for your plans. Missing engine and transmission. Someone removed the steering box but we have loaded, unloaded and moved this truck around the shop by adjusting the wheels by hand while we move the vehicle wherever we need it to be. The vin plate is in place, is clearly marked with its serial number and has never been damaged in any way. Truck comes with a clear Washington state title. It is NOT a salvage or reconstructed title. If you have any questions please email us and we will find the answers for you as fast as possible. $500 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit required within 48 hours of close of auction. Full payment required within 7 days of auction's close. Winning bidder must arrange shipping but we will assist with loading the vehicle at time of pick up of this truck. Vehicle is sold as is, where is with no warranty either expressed or implied. Good luck on the bidding!!

Chevy rolls out Silverado HD High Country

Wed, 09 Apr 2014

It's been a good week for heavy-duty truck buyers. First, Ram revealed the Black Package for its HD trucks, then it rolled out its new Power Wagon, and now Chevy's getting in on the action with its Silverado High Country HD. Okay, so it may not pack quite the attitude of Ram's latest 2500-series offerings, but the High Country HD will come as a welcome addition to the Chevy Trucks range to those looking to pull their horse, boat or other trailer without skimping on creature comforts.
Rolled out a little under a year ago, the High Country trim is Chevy's answer to the likes of the GMC Denali, Ford King Ranch and Ram Longhorn. It has until now only been offered on the light duty, 1500-series Silverado, but now extends to the 2500 and 3500-series HD models, as well.
So what sets a High Country pickup apart from lesser Chevy trucks? You'll be able to pick it out based on its chrome horizontal grille, body-color bumpers, 6-inch tubular side steps, 20-inch chrome wheels (18-inch on the 3500 and 17-inch on the dualie) and, of course, plenty of special badging. But it's inside where the High Country makes its mark, with a cabin decked out in saddle brown perforated leather, seats that are both heated and cooled, eight-inch touchscreen with full MyLink suite, Bose audio and park assist functions front and rear to keep those color-keyed bumpers looking fresh. (Though Chevy hasn't yet showed us the interior of the HD model, it'll presumably look mostly the same as the cab in the 1500 High Country in the gallery below.)

First privately owned Corvette Stingray blitzes 1/4 mile in 12.23 at 114.88 mph

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

Chevrolet's latest road rocket, the Corvette Stingray, is a very quick car. If one needs further proof of that, we recommend they take a look at this video from Hennessey of what is claimed to be the first privately owned C7 Corvette to make a pass down the quarter mile. Not just any quarter mile, mind, this black C7 blitzed its way down the tuner's primary testing dragstrip. The Chevrolet ran the quarter in just 12.23 seconds at 114.88 miles per hour. That is a very quick time for a stock car.
Equipped with the Z51 package and a six-speed automatic transmission, not only does the C7 run a solid time, but it does so with little to no drama. That won't last though, as Hennessey will likely return it to its owner with far more power - we just hope they show a drag run of the completed product. Take a look below to watch the C7's 12.23-second run on video.

PickupTrucks.com's latest test results in a familiar winner [w/video]

Wed, 19 Jun 2013

PickupTrucks.com has gone and thrown the latest batch of half-ton pickups into a cage match to see who would come out on top. The site put the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, 2013 Ford F-150, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan through a battery of tests. Those included 0-60 miles per hour acceleration, 60-0 mph deceleration, fuel economy, a hill climb, and payload and towing. They even threw the rigs on an autocross course to evaluate overall handling. Each truck was given points based on how it scored in each evaluation.
Who came out on top? Somewhat surprisingly, the 2013 Ford F-150 walked away with the gold, though fewer than 50 points separated first and fourth place. Head over to PickupTrucks.com to read the full evaluation and the final results. You may be shocked to see exactly where some of the segment's newest additions placed. You can also watch a video on the test below.
