Here is a 1953 Chevy Five Window Pick Up Truck in Awesome condition. As you can see; the pictures speak for themselves. The engine starts right up and the truck drives magnificently; everything is in working condition; there is no smoke at all and the transmission shifts very smoothly. As per the previous owner, the following was done approximately 5 years ago and the truck was driven only a few miles since: Engine was rebuilt, transmission and rear end were refreshed and new clutch installed, radiator was re-cored, brand new carburetor was installed, brand new alternator, brand new heater hoses were installed; complete electrical rewiring was done, brake drums were resurfaced and new shoes installed, new brake hoses were installed, new exhaust system was installed and I am sure I am forgetting a few things. All of the glass is in perfect condition. The truck is virtually rust free with perfect cab corners, rockers and bottom of the doors. The floors do show some surface rust on the passenger side(inside only)but they are solid as well. The gate is not original to the truck; neither is the bed floor(metal). Other than that, this is an extremely nice vehicle; very difficult to find in this almost original condition. You can either drive the truck as is or turn it into a rad rod, as you have the perfect platform to do so. You are more than welcome to inspect the vehicle or send an agent on your behalf as there is absolutely nothing to hide here. The truck is being sold "AS IS" with no warranties offered or implied.
I will ship worldwide and will store vehicle for a reasonable period of time until the buyer makes proper shipping arrangements. The truck is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime. I will consider "partial trades" for an MGA Roadster, a pre-1967 VW Bus, Old Porsche(356 or 911) or other Classic American or European Vehicles in good driving condition and with clear title. Please feel free to ask questions and I will try to answer them as quickly as possible.
Attention Overseas Buyers: I can put you in contact with a worldwide broker who can take care of your shipping needs to just about anywhere in the world. I can also assist in locating classic American and European automobiles; I have many references from overseas clients and shippers. Feel free to contact me with your needs.

Dodge vs. Chevy tug-of-war taken to the extreme
Mon, 17 Dec 2012They say "idle hands are the devil's playground," but said playgrounds grow to Disney-sized proportions when a pair of jacked-up trucks, two egos, a chain and an empty mall parking lot are involved. Proof of this is the video below, which shows a Cummins-powered Dodge Ram circa 2006 to 2008 chained tail-to-tail with what looks to be a gasoline-powered Chevrolet Silverado from the late 1990s or early 2000s.
We don't necessarily have to tell you who wins this battle, but we'll let you see for yourself the lengths the "winning" driver goes to prove his point. There's plenty of foul language in the video below, so beware that this might be Not Safe For Work, and not that we should have to tell you, but please, do not try this at home.

GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value
Thu, 12 Jun 2014Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.
