1952 Chevy Hot Rod Custom Built Pickup on 2040-cars
Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States
Completely built from the ground up on a 1994 Chevrolet S-10 frame with Advanced Design Engineering of California's subframe kit by Tom's Rod's and Customs. Body and bed were media blasted, primed and painted with PPG Silk Blue and a metal flake added to the clear coat on the cab for that "60's look". Tom had a sign painter create a logo for the doors....I like it, but if the new owner does not, a quart of the PPG paint comes with the truck. All receipts and manuals, wiring diagrams, etc. are included.
New GM Goodwrench crate 350 CID/290 HP engine with quadrajet carb, GM TH350 automatic transmission from Summit Racing, Lokar shift linkage on the floor. Mallory HEI ignition, Holley electric fuel pump, new power front disc brakes and wheel bearings, rebuilt front end on Belltech drop spindles, Monroe Reflex rear shocks, rear drum brakes. American Autowire wiring harness, new 30" steering column with tilt, Lobeck steering components, pedals and throttle linkage, Haneline gauge package, custom dual exhaust. Power-assisted steering. New chrome Vintique 15"x7" rear wheels, 15"x6" front wheels shod with Coker American Classic radials (235 and 215). New Vintage Air Conditioning/Defrost/Heat made expressly for this series of Chevy trucks, and it blows cold air. Temp gauge never gets over 190*. Cab roof and doors have been soundproofed and insulated. New headliner. New outside rearview mirrors. New Stainless and Pine bed. Wood treated with Minwax Spar UV protected satin polyurethane. All the glass and rubber are new. Truck was built to be super dependable and be a good driver and it is. A few minor scratches here and there, and the hood support springs vibrate a bit. Removed the little stereo Tom had in the glovebox but had to remove it to make way for the Vintage Air ductwork...but there is some good space behind the glovebox door for items, just not deep enough for a radio. Speakers are still in the doors. There are several AM/FM stereos that fit in the dash without cutting...just remove the plate behind the plugs. Classic Parts of America sells one for $180.00 and there are others to choose from. |

Chevy Crossvolt name kept alive in new trademark application
Fri, Dec 26 2014In April 2011 General Motors submitted a trademark application with the US Patent and Trademark Office for the word "Crossvolt." In November of this year, the application expired for lack of a statement of use. But in August of this year, GM applied again for the same trademark, leading some to believe that it intends to apply the name to a vehicle. That vehicle could explain the mule in sliced-and-diced Chevrolet Orlando bodywork caught in several spy shots this year, theorized to be some kind of Toyota Prius V or Ford C-Max Hybrid competitor; or it could be a production version of the Chevrolet Volt MP5 concept showed off at the Beijing Motor Show in 2010, which was about the same size as the Chevy Orlando. Or it could be none of those things – but the fact that Chevrolet is keeping it current makes us believe it will be... something. 2015 Chevrolet Silverado Custom glitzes up volume model [UPDATE]
Thu, Feb 12 2015UPDATE: The original prices listed in Chevrolet's press release did include destination charging, despite not being specifically called out as such. We've edited the story to reflect this. The Chicago Auto Show's reputation as the home of special edition debuts grows stronger today, as Chevrolet is complementing the news that it'd unveil the Silverado Midnight Edtion and Colorado GearOn special editions in the Windy City with the debut of the Silverado Custom. And yes, it's different than the higher-spec Custom Sport that debuted just last month in Detroit. What's so custom about the Silverado Custom, you ask? Well, not a whole lot. The new truck is based on the popular Silverado LS Double Cab, and adds, among its most noteworthy features, a set of 20-inch, five-spoke wheels. From there, chrome is the order of the day, with shinier front and rear bumpers, mirror caps and door handles. The top portion of the front bumper, which is finished in black plastic on the standard LS, is matched to the body color on the Custom model. Standard LS interior features, like the 4.2-inch MyLink system with 4G LTE wireless internet, 40/20/40 cloth front seats, remain in place on the Custom, while it's a similar story with the powertrain. Choices below the sheetmetal will force buyers to choose between a 5.3-liter V8 or a standard 4.3-liter V6, and two- or four-wheel drive. Chevy is pricing a V8-equipped Silverado Custom 4x2 at $33,820 (including $1,195 in destination charges). Adding four-wheel drive brings the price up at $37,800, although as we said, selecting the 4.3-liter V6 will yield a more affordable Custom. Check out the full press release on the newest member of the Silverado clan, available below. 2015 Silverado Custom: Back to Basics, with Style $33,820 starting price for a well-equipped double-cab V-8 CHICAGO – Chevrolet takes aim at the heart of the pickup market with the Silverado Custom, which offers Chevy Truck capability and dependability in a stylish package, priced within reach of many truck customers. "The economic recovery has led to booming sales of high-end pickups like the Silverado High Country," said Sandor Piszar, marketing director for Chevy Trucks. "But there are also millions of customers in the heart of the market who want a great looking, well-equipped truck at an affordable price.
GM to add 1,200 workers at 2 Michigan factories
Sat, Feb 29 2020DETROIT — General Motors is adding 1,200 jobs at two Michigan factories to build midsize SUVs and two new luxury sedans. GM said Friday that its Lansing Delta Township plant will get a third shift and 800 more workers to build the Chevrolet Traverse and Buick Enclave SUVs, which have three rows of seats. The Lansing Grand River plant will get a second shift and 400 more workers to build two new Cadillac sedans, the CT4 and CT5. Employees laid off at other GM factories will fill the new jobs first, then workers will be added, GM spokesman Dan Flores said. The company has not determined yet how many new people will be needed, he said. Both additional shifts will start working sometime between April and June, the company said. Lansing Delta Township now employs about 2,500 salaried and blue-collar workers, while the Grand River plant has 1,400. GM sold more than 147,000 Traverse SUVs in the U.S. last year, a 0.4% increase from 2018. Enclave sales were up 3% to just over 51,000, according to Autodata Corp. Related Video:
