1952 3100 Chevrolet

235/3 speed on column all original, second owner.  Truck has completed a full frame on restoration sometime in the past.  This truck has never been kept out in the weather.  I have been under this truck, in this truck, all over this truck.  I can’t see any rust issues anywhere on it.  I took this truck in on a trade-in so I can only tell you what I see.  New bumpers, new grill, new glass, all new interior, new exhaust system, new shocks, new bias ply Goodyear tires and new rubbers all around.

The electrical system has been converted from 6 volt to 12 volt.  New wiring and lights and blinkers work correctly.  As do all gauges.  Has new speedometer cable but at this time, it is stuck on 70 mph.  I will try to have fixed before auction is over. Truck also has new 12 v battery.  Truck still has the original floor starter and works correctly. Truck runs and drives great.  Remember the old day’s, it takes a few minutes for the tires to warm up before the vibration goes away.

Truck has had a full repaint.  Original color, Old Man Tan. Paint seems to be single stage. Truck has all new bed floor (oak) also stainless steel bed stripes in the floor. Everything on this truck works as it should as an all original truck.  Could you drive this truck at 70 mph?  Absolutely not!  Truck drives comfortable at 55 mph as it is designed to.  I can  not yet confirm or deny that this motor has been gone through.  With all assumption, I would say it has been.  It does not smoke or rattle. Motor has a Wayne Alum. Value cover and lifter cover.  That looks like the only thing keeping this from being an all original looking engine compartment.

This truck is not perfect.  It does have a few scratches, a few rock chips and a few runs in the paint.  The photos will not show any of the runs.  I might be over estimating the quality of this truck.  But it is a really nice rust free  driver.  Truck has 67,000 miles and I’m pretty sure that is the original miles,  not the miles on this motor though. i do not know the timeline of the restoration but someone spent a lot of money . i dont want in anyway to downplay this truck but i too dont want you to be disappointed in any way this is a nice truck .

Truck is located in Jackson, MS.  It can be viewed at any time while truck is up for auction.  If you intent to have an inspector view this truck it must be during the auction, NOT AFTER you have won the truck.  Please do not bid if you do not intend to buy.  I don’t need help selling this truck, I do NOT want trades.  You have 5 working days to pay in full after the close of the auction, or you will forfeit to second bidder.  $300 Paypal deposit is required within 12 hours at the end of auction.  Non- Refundable.  Truck is licenced an registered in mississippi now .

I do not need a Transporter for this truck.  Winner is responsible for arranging transportation.  I will assist in getting truck to transporter for you.

I have a clear Mississippi open title that will not be released until truck is paid in full.  I will next day air it to you.

I do not have a buy it now price but I am willing to take offers.

I reserve all rights to end this auction at any time if I so choose too.  If you have any questions you can reach me, Mike at 601-941-1320.  I AM NOT A DEALER.

Impala SS vs. Marauder: Recalling Detroit’s muscle sedans

Thu, Apr 30 2020

Impala SS vs. Marauder — it was comparo that only really happened in theory. ChevyÂ’s muscle sedan ran from 1994-96, while MercuryÂ’s answer arrived in 2003 and only lasted until 2004. TheyÂ’re linked inextricably, as there were few options for powerful American sedans during that milquetoast period for enthusiasts. The debate was reignited recently among Autoblog editors when a pristine 1996 Chevy Impala SS with just 2,173 miles on the odometer hit the market on Bring a Trailer. Most of the staff favored the Impala for its sinister looks and said that it lived up to its billing as a legit muscle car. Nearly two-thirds of you agree. We ran an unscientific Twitter poll that generated 851 votes, 63.9 percent of which backed the Impala. Muscle sedans, take your pick: — Greg Migliore (@GregMigliore) April 14, 2020 Then and now enthusiasts felt the Impala was a more complete execution with guts. The Marauder, despite coming along later, felt more hacked together, according to prevailing sentiments. Why? On purpose and on paper theyÂ’re similar. The ImpalaÂ’s 5.7-liter LT1 V8 making 260 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque was impressive for a two-ton sedan in the mid-Â’90s. The Marauder was actually more powerful — its 4.6-liter V8 was rated at 302 hp and 318 lb-ft. The ImpalaÂ’s engine was also used in the C4 Corvette. The MarauderÂ’s mill was shared with the Mustang Mach 1. You can see why they resonated so deeply with Boomers longing for a bygone era and also captured the attention of coming-of-age Gen Xers. Car and DriverÂ’s staff gave the Marauder a lukewarm review back in ‘03, citing its solid handling and features, yet knocking the sedan for being slow off the line. In a Hemmings article appropriately called “Autopsy” from 2004, the ImpalaÂ’s stronger low-end torque and smooth shifting transmission earned praise, separating it from the more sluggish Mercury. All of this was captured in the carsÂ’ acceleration times, highlighting metrically the differences in their character. The Impala hit 60 miles per hour in 6.5 seconds, while the Marauder was a half-second slower, according to C/D testing. Other sites have them closer together, which reinforces the premise it really was the little things that separated these muscle cars. Both made the most of their genetics, riding on ancient platforms (FordÂ’s Panther and General MotorsÂ’ B-body) that preceded these cars by decades. Both had iconic names.

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.

Former Fisker CEO has some advice for Tesla Motors

Wed, Oct 22 2014

Former Fisker Automotive CEO and ex-Chevrolet Volt vehicle-line director Tony Posawatz has some words of caution for Tesla Motors. The long-time automaker executive questions the California automaker's long-term viability – and gives some praise – in a talk with Benzinga, which you can listen to below. While the all-wheel-drive D that Tesla unveiled earlier this month in Southern California wowed a packed crowd, Posawatz (starting at around minute 4:45 in the interview) says Tesla would've been better off taking the resources it expended toward that Model S upgrade and directed them towards speeding up the development of a more affordable plug-in. Perhaps a number of investors agreed, since the company's stock fell the day after the D was announced. Posawatz says Tesla has been over-reliant on the sale of ZEV credits. Posawatz also says that Tesla has been over-reliant on the sale of zero-emissions vehicle credits in California for its earnings and questions whether the automaker will ever work at a large enough scale to sufficiently drive down costs and make consistent profits. Tesla CEO Elon Musk would take issue with this characterization. Posawatz first made his mark in the plug-in vehicle world when he was the vehicle-line director at General Motors for the Volt extended-range plug-in from 2006 to 2012. Later that year, he joined extended-range plug-in maker Fisker Automotive as its CEO, though quit that job during the summer of 2013 as the company was descending into insolvency. He joined the Electrification Coalition this past March. News Source: Benzinga Green Chevrolet Fisker Tesla Electric PHEV Tony Posawatz
