1952 Chevrolet 3100 Original Mobilgas Service Station Pickup! Amazing History! on 2040-cars
Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States
1952 Mobilgas Service Station Pickup This is a Real Deal truck from Mobil Gas Station in Raton, NM. This is one cool truck! It started its life out from day one at a Mobilgas Service Station in Raton, NM. It worked at the station until about 15 years ago. It was purchased from original owners family. As you can see it still has lettering from the station. Under a few paint jobs there are the old lettering on the door. Hard to beat an authentic truck used at an old gas station. The truck is in good shape for its use and age. It spent 40 years in the desert. This is not a rusted out truck! It was well preserved! There are a few dents that will pop out on fenders. The grill looks like it was used as a bush bar before the cool double bumper was added. The grill will likely need a replacement. There is little rust in the truck. The cab corners have some pinholes and bubbling, just like any of these trucks. The floors are very solid. There is slight rust in the corners of the floor, but from underneath its solid. The bed has some old steel that was layed over the wood. The wood and rails is still intact under the steel. The video and pictures show the truck well. I can take take any more pictures that are needed. Original 6cyl Motor, That turns over Free. Transmission shifts and clutch opperates well. The brakes will need servicing before driving this truck. It currently has original wiring, I would recommend rewiring as old wiring can be hazardous. All gauges operate and lights around truck as well. It is hard to find such an original truck with this history! It will make a great driver! The seat does not look to be the original seat, however it is in good shape and fits the truck. This truck had a radio at some point, Most just had radio delete plate. However it still has the Motorolla vintage speaker box under the dash. As well as the heater and blower fan. I am willing to update a few things that can be discussed after purchase. Rewire truck to 12v, Replace all glass and seals, service brakes and so on. Any questions on that, please let me know. Truck is located in Tulsa, Ok. If you are local contact me and I will be glad to schedule a showing. Any questions please send a message, I will be glad to discuss over the phone if you are a serious buyer. |

Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat vs. Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in latest Head 2 Head
Fri, Jan 30 2015"Olympian" is one of the terms we use to signify the greatest height, the seat of the gods. Yet Mt. Olympus is the second-highest peak in the Balkans ranges, overshadowed by the crest at Musala in Bulgaria's Rila mountains. Both great heights, but one is a little higher. That's how we get the Olympian Chevy Camaro ZL1 pitched at the Musalic Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat in Motor Trend's latest episode of Head 2 Head. The side-by-side spec sheet is filled with farcical numbers. For the ZL1, that's a 6.2-liter V8 with 580 horsepower, 556 pound-feet of torque, a 4,051-pound curb weight, 0-to-60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds, a quarter-mile time of 12.2 seconds and a base price of just $57,800. Opposing that, the Hellcat wrings out its 6.2-liter V8 for 707 hp, 650 lb-ft of torque, weighs 4,449 pounds, does the quarter in 11.7 seconds and has a base price of just $60,990. Except in the case of the Hellcat, when Motor Trend put it on the dyno the machine spit out a reading of 672 hp and 606 lb-ft at the wheels. If there's a 10-percent driveline loss through those beefed-up internals and heavy-duty eight-speed transmission, that means the Hellcat is actually rated at about 750 horsepower and 700 lb-ft. But once they get put on a closed-off strip of coast road in Northern California, there are only a few strands of hair between their respective performances. That's not the case for they sensations provide; host Jonny Lieberman calls one of them, "One of the most incredible cars ever made," and says, "It changes everything." Watch the video above to see who got the verdict and how. Related Video:
Chevy Silverado Midnight Edition, Custom ready to stand out in pickup line
Thu, Feb 12 2015Chevrolet spent its Chicago Auto Show introducing a pair of fullsize pickups that promise image-conscious buyers a truck experience that goes beyond the standard range, with the murdered-out Midnight Edition and the um, not murdered-out, Custom. Let's start with the Custom, which adds 20-inch alloys, as well as chrome bumpers, mirror caps and door handles to the Silverado LS. Available in both V6 and V8 varieties, and with the customer's choice of two- or four-wheel drive, the Silverado Custom is the decidedly mellower example of Chevy's special edition styling. The Midnight Edition, meanwhile, throws subtlety out the window with a menacing set of visual upgrades. Based on the Z71, the Midnight adds 18-inch wheels, a spray-in bedliner and unique Z71 and Bowtie badges, all in black, of course. The front and rear bumpers, headlamp bezels, tow hooks, mirror caps and door handles, are also finished in the stealthy shade. Check out our live images of both special edition trucks, and let us know what you think down in Comments.
Next-gen Chevy Volt will get 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine
Tue, Oct 28 2014As General Motors gets ready to unveil the new Chevy Volt at the Detroit Auto Show in January, it's starting to reveal a few more details about the updated plug-in hybrid. Today should be fruitful on that front, thanks to an event GM is hosting today that focuses on the new Volt, and we've just had the first bit of new: a bigger engine is coming. Since the beginning, the Volt has used a 1.4-liter, four-cylinder engine as a range extender when the battery runs dry. The second-generation model will instead get a slightly larger 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine that will be built in Flint, MI. That's a step up from the various engines that have been a part of the 2016 Volt's rumored mills, everything from a 1.0-liter or 1.2-liter three-cylinder to a 2.0-liter turbo. The confirmation about the new 1.5-liter powerplant was found in Automotive News, where we also heard again that GM is going to start building the new Volt's electric drive unit in Detroit, moving production up from Mexico. We will have more information on the 2016 Chevy Volt later today.
