I am relisting this truck, the person who bought the truck decided not to follow through with the transaction,so i refunded him his deposit and i am putting it up for sale once again.Up for auction is my 1942 Chevy truck. Am selling due to medical reasons. This is a rare truck due to its year and would make a great project truck for a father and son. The truck already runs, drives, and stops. All it needs is someone to finish it the rest of the way. I have done the following work to the truck: new fuel pump, new points, new condensor, new 12 volt coil, new ignition switch, rebuilt the master cylinder and wheel cylinders, new brake lines, and rebuilt the carb. The truck has a straight 6 cyl 216 motor with 3 speed manual trasmission on the floor. Odometer shows about 82K miles on it. Unsure if this is accurate or not. The front grill is complete and in good shape. The truck is very solid with normal amount of surface rust and dings and dents for its age. I would recommend updating the wiring and the truck will need a battery as the jump pack is not included in the sale. The seat will need recovered as only the frame and springs are there with no coverings on it. The blanket and Stroker Ace are NOT included in the sale either. It will also need the fuel tank cleaned out as the truck is running off of an auxillary tank at the moment. Did not have time to clean the tank yet and did not want to get crud in the freshly rebuilt carb. The front passenger window has cracks in it and there is NOT a rear window in the truck. Winning bidder will get a Clean and Clear Iowa Title. Truck is located in Stout, Iowa 50673, which is about 15 miles West of Waterloo/Cedar Falls Iowa. This is a used truck. There are NO WARRANTIES expressed or implied about the truck. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 319-239-5238. All bidders with less than 10 positive feedbacks need to contact me prior to bidding. Upon completion of the auction, a $500 deposit is due via PayPal. Balance of the purchase price is due within 7 days of auction close in CASH. Thank you for looking! |

2016 Chevy Colorado Duramax gets 31 mpg highway
Mon, Nov 9 2015The 2016 Chevrolet Colorado Duramax and its similarly diesel-powered GMC Canyon sibling are the most fuel-efficient new trucks on the market in America. The Environmental Protection Agency estimates 31 miles per gallon highway, 22 mpg city, and 25 mpg combined for two-wheel-drive Colorado and Canyon diesels. That's just good enough to take the pickup fuel-economy title from the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel HFE, which carries EPA estimates of 29 mpg highway, 21 mpg city, and 24 mpg combined. Four-wheel-drive models offer slightly lower economy figures of 29/20/23, respectively. Drivers can cover quite some distance, too – the GM twins' 21-gallon tanks mean a maximum range of 651 miles.
Your browser does not support iframes.
Diesel's reputation may be somewhat tarnished in the US after Volkswagen's emissions scandal, but Chevy wants to assure potential customers that there are no tricks with the Colorado's figures. The pickup's engine features NOx-reducing tech like exhaust gas recirculation, and the EPA and California Air Resources Board recently chose the truck to take the additional step of real-world emissions tests. The 2.8-liter Duramax four-cylinder with 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque had no problems with the more stringent evaluation, and "the agency expressed no issues or concerns," according to the company's statement. The diesel Colorado goes on sale this fall, and the Duramax costs $3,730 over a similarly equipped V6 model. We've gone ahead and included dueling press releases from both Chevy and GMC below for your reading pleasure. The EPA-estimated highway fuel economy for 2016 Colorado four-wheel drive diesel is 29 mpg. The EPA has issued a Certificate of Conformity for the Chevrolet Colorado Duramax diesel. The agency expressed no issues or concerns following its recent extensive testing and evaluation of the emission control system on the Colorado Duramax diesel.

What we know, and think we know, about the 2016 Chevy Volt
Wed, Aug 13 2014With the next-gen Chevy Volt due to make an appearance at the Detroit Auto Show early next year, bits and pieces about the new car are making their way into the press. Perhaps most importantly, the new Volt is going to have better "fuel economy and efficiency," according to GM executive vice president Mark Reuss. The current Volt gets 98 MPGe and 37 miles per gallon on premium fuel. It also has a 38-mile electric-only range. We don't know how GM will improve the efficiency or to what degree, but the logical options include making the car lighter, giving it better aerodynamics and/or improving the powertrain. To that end, one of the big things we don't know for sure includes information on the new gas-powered engine. Forbes says it will be a downsized 1.0-liter, three-cylinder mill instead of the 1.4-liter, four-cylinder used in the current model, which could certainly help the car be more efficient. The new Volt is also going to have more technology, which shouldn't surprise anyone. GM is now openly talking about how it will change the way it markets the Volt, shifting away from the mass-market mentality to focus on the regions where the car is already popular. "There's a Northeast and West Coast market for Volt, and there's nothing wrong with that," Chevy chief marketing officer Tim Mahoney told Forbes. There are rumors that the new Volt will have seating for five by adding a seat in the back. This is something a lot of current Volt owners would love, but we've heard nothing official hinting that this would be the case. We expect the battery to be the new 17.1-kWh version, or maybe even have a capacity increase, so GM would have to seriously repackage the pack to eliminate the ridge that runs from between the front seats and then back to the rear two seats. If you've heard anything official, do let us know.
