Up for auction (OR MUSCLE CAR TRADES) is an attention grabbing 1932 Chevrolet Coupe Rat Rod. Let me begin by saying this is not a car for a kid or amateur, it will take some getting familiar with to operate this machine. Also, this is not a RUST FREE show car, it's about as rat as you can get for a rat rod. Its one hell of a build that looks and performs great!
This car is built on a 135" wheelbase and has a 6 " chop on an all steel body on a custom built frame. This car has no pedals, it is totally controlled through hand controls which frees up space for your feet and legs. It takes a little getting used to but 10 miles of driving and it's almost second nature. If you are uncomfortable with this set up it wouldn't take much to convert it back to foot pedals. Also if you think you may be uncomfortable with this set up please don't bid or buy it. The drivetrain is a 1970's Chevy C10 250 6 Cylinder engine with a healthy cam. It all has approx. 28,000 miles. It runs on 6 , YES 6 Synchronized 34mm Mikuni Snowmobile Carbs with water injection ( the bottle of J.D.!!) The transmission is out of a 1980"s CHEVY K30 Turbo 400 transmission (w/passing gear - button built into throttle control) Also used on the build is a 53' Mercury front drum brakes, Chevy S-10 posi spool rear end, Honda CRX front springs and 4 BRAND NEW TIRES!!!! - 16's in the front on ford spokes, 15's in the rear
vacuum brakes - with front chrome holding tank ( fire extinguisher tank) stops like a semi!!!
HEAT!! - heater core from a 740 BMW
ALL NEW WIRING - with 6 panel fuse block
NEW belts, plugs, cap , rotor, wires, radiator (large aluminum that runs at 160 degrees constantly), thermostat, water pump, flex fan, front and rear shocks, steering stabilizer, fuel tank sending unit,
new gauge pack
all new switches - headlights are an old lamp pull chain!! It has a functional AM/FM/AUX player in the "glove box" The car has adjustable timing (black lever on dash) which allows you to advance or retard the timing. Its currently running well but could use a little fine tuning to run perfectly. I am very confident in the braking system which is worth nothing, it really stops well. The red handle on the steering wheel loosens up to allow quick and easy removal of the cut away steering wheel. The speedo or odometer do not work but all other gauges are functional and the lights do work. For lighting it has KC daylighters as driving lights,
AIRCRAFT L.E.D. indicator lights, turn signals
postal jeep front axle with king pins
postal jeep steering box
postal jeep master cylinder
1940's boat throttle used as gear shifter
stainless boat prop shaft from left to right for all linkages interior for all hand controls - brake and throttle with quick release steering wheel
THE CAR COMES WITH A BILL OF SALE AND NEW HAMPSHIRE STATE VIN VERIFICATION , which in NY (the toughest state around with DMV ) accepts with no problem to register. There shouldn't be any issue getting this car titled in any state. |

Man spent $75 on a truck that lasted 38 years
Mon, Jan 5 2015Absurd as it is, some buyers today are worried about getting their car to last throughout the term of their seven-year car loan. Minnesota resident Bob Sportel has the opposite issue: his Chevrolet truck seemingly won't die. Sportel needed a cheap ride to get to work when he took a job at a farmer's co-op 38 years ago, so he bought a rusty 1957 Chevy pickup for $75 from a farmer; at the time, the 20-year-old truck was almost as old as Bob was. After nearly four decades of daily driving and an estimated 300,000 miles, Sportel is still driving the truck today. Bolts secure a fender, Bondo secures the lights, what looks like a whole roll of duct tape keeps him sitting on the bench seat instead of in it. For a 58-year-old pickup that's never seen a garage or a new coat of paint – but did get its oil changed four times a year – that's not bad; Sportel thinks his repair bill hasn't got above $1,000 for the entire time he's owned the truck. He still has no plans to get rid of it, saying, "It just becomes a part of you." You can watch his story in the video above. News Source: KARE11.com Chevrolet Truck Classics Videos
New auto loans could soon extend out to 84 months
Sun, Apr 22 2018Cars and trucks are more expensive than ever before. In order to boost sales and help consumers afford new vehicles, automakers are offering longer and longer terms for auto loans. This past week, Bloomberg reported that FCA's Ram Trucks division is currently offering the longest loans. Some stretch to 73 months. Jeep, Fiat and Chevy aren't far behind. More noteworthy is that we'll likely soon see lenders moving from 73-month to 84-month loans. That's seven years worth of interest. More than two-thirds of US auto sales come from light trucks like the Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado and Ram 1500. The average transaction price of a new vehicle is well over $30,000. It's not difficult to spec out a heavily-optioned truck up to $60,000. Vehicles depreciate from the moment they roll off a dealer lot, and these six or seven-year loans could hurt consumers and lenders both in the long run. The U.S. Senate voted last week to kill rules that would prevent discriminatory auto lending. These Obama-era guidelines were meant to curtail lenders who offered higher loans based on race, religion, sex or national origin. Who sold the most heavy-duty pickups in 2012? PickupTrucks.com investigates
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Domestic manufacturers enjoyed a good year for heavy-duty pickup sales in 2012. PickupTrucks.com has taken a close look at exactly how those sales broke down between each manufacturer and between three-quarter and one-ton pickups. Ford sold some 67,786 F-250 Super Duty models last year with the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD falling just behind at 56,359 units. The Ram 2500 HD came in third at 41,918, while the GMC Sierra 2500 HD earned itself fourth place with 27,616 deliveries. While Ford held onto the top spot in the one-ton market, Ram easily nailed down second place by selling more 3500 HD models last year than General Motors sold Silverado 3500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD trucks combined.
So, did GM manage to sell more trucks than Ford with its two brands? Very nearly. Ford sold a total of 119,338 heavy-duty pickups to GM's 111,555. Ram, meanwhile, moved a distant 77,583. But perhaps more interesting is the diesel take rate in this segment. PickupTrucks.com says 80 percent of all domestic one-ton trucks roll from the dealer lot with a turbo-diesel under the hood. Head over to the site for a closer look at the breakdown.
