1978 Chevy Nova. Was originally a 250 straight 6 motor (which is included and in good mechanical condition) swapped out for a 350 from a Camaro and bored .060 over to make a 360CI, Solid motor mounts, Edelbrock aluminum intake, comp cam XE268, Roller tipped rockers, Heads were professionally re-done with all new everything before the motor was built, 650 true double pumper with mechanical choke, electric fan wired into temp sensor which kicks on at 180 degrees and has never been over 210, Howe aluminum race radiator, Jegs electric fuel pump with regulator and fuel pressure gauge, Hedman Hedders, Accel plug wires with billet distributor . Car has 57407 actual miles from the little old lady who owned it previously. Interior is as close to perfect as a 78 car can be. It has a three on the tree manual transmission. The car has no rusted through areas only very minor surface rust in some places. Passenger headlight bezel is cracked from a pheasant that just had to get across the road. Sub frames and underside still have original undercoating on them. Could use some new paint but still only faded from the years of weathering. This car would make a perfect restoration project. also comes with factory blue-moon eyed wheels and factory tires which are flawless so entire car could be put back to stock. GM issues stop-sale for 3 SUVs over incorrect MPG rating
Fri, May 13 2016This week, GM sent a memo to Chevy, GMC, and Buick dealers to tell them to stop selling three SUVS. The 2016 Chevy Traverse, the GMC Acadia, and the Buick Enclave all have EPA window stickers that show higher fuel economy ratings than the vehicles actually have. Unlike other recent – and very public – fuel economy ratings problems from VW and Mitsubishi, it doesn't seem like GM did anything wrong with the testing for these vehicles, it just misprinted the labels. New labels are being printed and should arrive at dealerships this weekend and early next week. After that, the SUVs will be able to be sold and delivered again. The official fuel economy rating for the three SUVs are all the same. The correct numbers for the all-wheel drive versions are 17 miles per gallon combined, 15 city, and 22 highway. The stickers say the SUVs get 17/24/19. The front-wheel driver models were also incorrectly labeled, and the total number of affected vehicles is 59,823. In the memo, GM said the problem was caused by an "inadvertent error," Automotive News says. GM is working with the EPA to solve the issue. 2014 Chevrolet SS makes its live debut
Sat, 16 Feb 2013Chevrolet showed off the new 2014 SS in an airport hangar last night, its first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan in the US since the Impala SS from 1997. We'll have more to say about the SS later today, but this is the sedan that Chevrolet sees as the final piece in restoring its performance credentials. For those of you looking for a manual transmission, however, that wish will go unfulfilled - at least for now: the only two options buyers will have are the color and whether or not they want a sunroof.
We'll work on getting some more angles (in better light) today at Daytona International Speedway, but with fans seeing the car for the first time, we don't hold out much luck of getting a clear shot. So for now, enjoy the high-res gallery above.
The story of the 2014 Chevrolet SS: "Luxury, power, refinement, handling"
Thu, 07 Mar 2013Not including the women and men who built it, the 2014 Chevrolet SS has only been seen in person by a piddling number of people - fewer humans than would fill the gymnasium at a high school volleyball game. Not including the men and women who built it, no one has driven it. Even so, it is already saddled with two controversies: the way it looks and the way it shifts.
First to that shifting. Did we love the last Americanized Holden, the awesomely sportsome Pontiac G8 GXP, and its six-speed manual? Of course. Do we wish the SS came with a six-speed manual? Of course. But we'd like a toboggan to come with a manual transmission. We'd put a manual transmission on a weasel if we could because we're just wired that way; if it moves, it should come with a stick and a clutch. Or at least the option.
Let's climb down off the ledge, though. We haven't driven the SS and we have no idea how good (or not) the automatic is. And the Hobson's Choice in transmissions when it comes to sport sedans like the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Jaguar XFR-S and, oh yeah, cars-that-really-should-have-manuals like the Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R and Porsche 918 and every single Lamborghini and Ferrari, for instance, hasn't stopped us from enjoying what is clearly the gruesome, dual-clutched demise of Western automotive civilization. Because in spite of our ululations at the dying of the six-speed light, we understand.
