I have  for sale my 1976 chevy nova. I bought in 6 years ago to  build and restore.  Its done.  had  a 6 cyl in it when I got it.   I put a  1991 chevy 350 engine in it  from a   C10 pick up truck.  It has  center bolt neads.  I had the car painted electric blue, and poly coated. Its very nice looking still.  has a few blisters coming thru. I will try to list this all. but its a lot.  I did this car as my hobby.  theres nothing,  I didn't do.  The interior is all black, New bucket seats,  hurst ratchet floor shifter, tach, 2 sets of autometer gauges,  crager chrome wheels, ceramic headers,  high rise manifold, holley street avenger card/650 cfm,  mild camshaft, endelbrock fuel pump, stainless steel fuel line front to back, brand new gas tank, new tires, the rear tires are firehawks, 12" wide.  the exhaust system is flow master with dual super 40's, side cut outs  just behind the doors, the engine is mostly chrome. block is painted, valve covers are chrome plated aluminum, very nice. distributor is a MSD, I had the heads rebuilt, new valves, lifters and rods.  I installed uner hood mirrors, custom made for the year. very eye catching at car shows. I installed  blue led lights thru out the engine compartment, it really shows nice at the shows. Brakes are new, master cyl new, installed a line lock front braking system, controlled by a switch.  The rear is brand new, from a shop in Florida, it has 331 gears, all new brake plates, cyls, parts.  It really roars to life. The body was primed, painted and clear coated.  it has 4 years on the paint, theres some blisters around some trim. Car is very fast, sound incredible.  When I start it the house shakes.  Its more dependable then a new car.  I installed a electric fan, and a new summit aluminum radiator. New water pump, chrome  pulleys, chrome alternator, billet air cleaner.  Im sure I missed some thing.  Nothing was not redone.  What a great car. I won about 10 trophys with it.  Its  a head turner, needs NOTHING.  Just put the key in it and go. Has a new radio/ cd player/ ipod. I enjoyed building it, and probably have too much money in it to get it back.  I am into other ventures and think its time to sell.  Its local here in NJ.  All the electric wiring is good, everything works.  What a flashy car. If your seeking a hot rod that is already done for you, this is it.  All I ever ran in it is Sunoco ultra and octane booster.  I raced a mustang on the high way and left him in my rear view mirror.

Body shop manager stole over $500,000 worth of government trucks and parts

Fri, Jan 27 2017

The US Department of Justice announced yesterday that the manager of a collision and restoration business in Virginia admitted he helped misappropriate and sell vehicles and parts from the State Department. Specifically, he sold 12 Chevrolet Suburbans, a Hummer, and $7,500 worth of tires and wheels. He pled guilty to charges to commit theft of government property and wire fraud. He will likely see 18 to 20 months in prison, a fine of $4,000 to $40,000, and has already agreed to pay restitution of $416,020 and asset forfeiture of the same amount. According to the Department of Justice, the body shop manager, James Ratcliffe, worked with the owner of the business and a State Department official, both unnamed, to obtain the property. It started with the wheels and tires, which were delivered and sold on two occasions, one in 2011 and another in 2012. The trucks came later, and were sold throughout 2011 and 2013. Ratcliffe and the shop owner kept most of the profits, and shared some of the leftovers with the government official. In addition to the vehicles that were sold, the government official also gave Ratcliffe a pair of Suburbans for his own personal use. The Department of Justice estimated the total value of the SUVs at $96,400. In total, the group misappropriated $512,420 worth of property. Related Video:

GM diesel pickups first to undergo extra EPA, CARB testing

Tue, Sep 29 2015

The effects of Volkswagen's long-running diesel emissions evasion are starting to spill over to other automakers, but General Motors is taking things in stride. The 2.8-liter, four-cylinder Duramax in the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon is the first engine to get extra scrutiny by the Environmental Protection Agency and the California Air Resources Board, Automotive News reports. Rather than just the usual in-lab test, it's also being checked on the road. However, the extra evaluation shouldn't have any impact on when the trucks with his mill hit dealers later this fall. "We're in our final stages of the EPA certification, and our launch is on track," Chevy spokesperson Otie McKinley tells Autoblog. The four-cylinder diesel in the trucks makes 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, and the automaker is touting low NOx production. In the announcement for the Colorado's specs, the company calls it "the cleanest diesel truck engine ever produced by General Motors." The tech includes exhaust gas recirculation to lower combustion temperatures and improve emissions. There's also a urea tank like on the bigger diesels for full-size trucks, and it gets refilled in time with oil changes. An indication on the instrument panel lets drivers know when that's needed, too. Even with the more demanding testing, the company doesn't seem too worried about the four-cylinder passing. "Part of our development process is on-road and off-road [laboratory] testing," Scott Yackley, Chevy Trucks assistant chief engineer, said to Automotive News. In the wake of the VW scandal, the EPA has pledged more rigorous testing. Before, on-road emissions evaluations were largely limited to heavy-duty vehicles, but the agency has decided to apply the checks more often to other models. There's also now greater cooperation with Canadian authorities.

Dale Earnhardt, Jr. puts his Callaway Corvette and '55 Chevy on eBay

Sat, Jan 24 2015

Dale Earnhardt, Jr. has put a couple of his personal cars up for sale on eBay. The first is a 1955 Chevy Bel Air that Junior had reworked by Funkmaster Flex, a bit of a diversion from Flex's more common Ford efforts. Junior's ride has a replacement chassis from Jim Meyer Racing, a 434 small-block tuned by Sharioff Racing to 500 horsepower, and truly thin rubber on what appear to be aluminum billet rims with Junior's former number 8 on the center caps. The interior is all custom and painted to match the outside, and those seats have been completely reupholstered. The second car is a 1999 Callaway C12, the 18th of 19 C12s built that year and featured in a 2002 issue of AutoWeek. It joined Earnhardt's private collection in 2004. Built on the base of a C5 Chevrolet Corvette and using a lot of technical know-how from Callaway's European racing program, the BMW #287 Blue Pearl C12 had its V8 bored out to 6.2 liters and graced with Callaway's Supernatural upgrade; it also has a Callaway coil-over suspension with adjustable dampers. There's new bodywork all around, and when new it cost about $200,000. At the time of writing bidding on the Bel Air was up to $80,100, the C12 was at $63,100. The auction ends Monday morning, and the winning bidders have the option of having their prizes autographed and retrieving the keys from Dale Jr himself if they're willing to go to Moorseville, NC.
