1976 Chevy Nova Concours * You are looking at a 1976 Nova Concours. This car came from the factory with a v8. The hugger orange paint is the original color to the car. This car has been a race car since 1978. The motor is a four bolt main 406. Steelhead 202. Solid lifter cam. The intake is a Team G aluminum with a 830 holley race carb. With a 2 year old set of a hooker headers. ------------------------------------------------------------------- * The drive shaft is a Denny's drive shaft from Denny's Drive Shaft Service Inc. ------------------------------------------------------------------- * The rear end is a Chevy 8.5" 10 bolt with moser axils with 373's. ------------------------------------------------------------------- * The cal trac suspension system is the latest edition to the car. ------------------------------------------------------------------- *I have owned this car since 1997. The car has never been in salt and the bottom side is perfect. With a set of 456 gears that I still have, this car consistantly ran 11.20 at 119mph in the quarter. ------------------------------------------------------------------- * Hughes performance Street & Strip TH350 automatic transmission. Tue, 19 Mar 2013This year's 12 Hours of Sebring wasn't exactly a foregone conclusion because we're still talking about racing, and anything can happen when the speeds are as high as the adrenaline and the desire. But we're still talking about Audi bringing it's two top-spec racers - and its huge budget and its nearly neurotic attention to detail - to a race that it uses as a test bed for The 24 Hours of Le Mans and as a way to open the endurance racing season with a victory.
Besides, 12 hours is a long time, especially at Sebring, and things didn't go all Audi's way. On top of that, although it was a pretty quiet race, behind the Audis things got even grimier, with plenty of battles, plenty of mechanical issues, and the new BMW Z4 GTE and Viper GTS-R being race tested. Oh, and that brand new chromed-out DeltaWing...
NHTSA closes book on Ford, GM probes of 600,000 vehicles
Thu, Nov 27 2014US safety regulators have closed a pair of investigations into some 500,000 Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis and Marauder sedans built between 2004 to 2007, and 100,000 Chevrolet Impala models from 2014. The Ford investigation focused on rusting heat shields, which may become dislodged and jam the steering, according to Reuters. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that this happened very rarely. In fact, of the ten incidents filed with the government safety watchdog, six came from a single police department, which evidently had some sort of problem with its reporting. As for the Impala, the NHTSA investigators attributed two incidences of "unintended autonomous braking" to user error. In both cases, the vehicles were involved in rear-end collisions. According to GM investigators, it's believed that drivers accidentally activated the electric parking brake, causing the collisions. The vehicles in question were rental cars.
