Up for auction this week is a 1973 Chevrolet Nova 2 door Post Car. Built 350 motor with rebuilt Turbo 350 transmission. Engine and transmission and rear end are all numbers matching! Bought from a older gentleman who really loved this car and it shows. Custom headers and whole exhaust is new including mufflers. Sounds perfect for the car. New eldelbrock intake manifold and carburater and alternator as well as battery and Mallory electronic distributor with new cap and plugs and 8mm wires.  Starts right up every time with out fail.
Body when i purchased the car was faded but was holding up nicely. Needed to be refreshed that's it.  Car was from Eastern Washington which is considerably drier than the likes of Seattle, it was always garaged in a heated garage and it shows.  Chrome bumpers on this car look NEW. No warps or POW's or scratches. The guys here in Bellevue, Washington did a great job on the paint job.  Yeah I know, Oooooo Macco.  Actually if you go in every day and buy lunch for the guys who work on your car, you would be surprised at how well of a job these guys did on this car.  Laser straight and clean. Few road nicks from rocks here and there but overall its a great paint job.
ALL the jams on the car were painted. Both door jams and trunk and engine compartment. All new weatherstripping were installed after the paint cured.  New NOVA fender emblems were bought, old had pitting.  I know this car is not a SS Nova but the old grill had a couple of squares of the grill busted out so I opted for the SS grill and emblem and it looks sharp.  Honestly who is gonna know the difference while driving around town. It could be your little secret.
The inside of the car has held up amazingly as well.  Front bench seats bottom seat is nice but the seam by the driver corner had to be sown back to save the rest of the seats look.  Back seat has never been sat in it looks like.  Rear package tray is nice but not MINT. Headliner is gorgeous and dome light even works every time.
Car has drum brakes. Sorry, i didn't order the car from the factory, but they all have been turned and new wheel cylinders were installed with new shoes. Stops fine for a drum brake car. Should since its so light.  2 door post cars do not have all the frame work in the ceiling as coupe cars do. That's why drag racers love these light cars.  Rubberized factory mat is in gorgeous condition with no wear in it at all.  Both sides and rear seat area's look great.  Dash pad has one crack towards the passenger side.
Glass on the car all looks vintage and nice.  Nothing leaks in or off this car!!!! Dry trunk area with factory splatter paint was applied when at paint shop and then clear coated to seal.
Car still has the factory moon hub caps with matching color to car rims. This car is stock in appearance driving down the street. Bone stock.
The strip on the car is stock for that year Nova and was applied by a professional. He put it on dry! No water used for a better stick to the paint.
If there is a photo of the car you would like to see and do not, let me know and I would be glad to put that picture up for you to see.  I also would ASK QUESTIONS about the car.  I would if I was buying a car sight unseen from where you are. Or have a 3rd party come and take a look. This car has nothing to hide.  Runs and drives and stops great and everything thats hooked up works.  AC not hooked up nor do i have the compressor to make work, but everything is there to make it work.
I have tried very hard to best describe the car to the best of my ability.  If i have not and you still have some concerns or questions for me.  Please email me and i can share what i know about the car so both of us can be on the same page about the cars condition.
The car is being sold locally as well and is being sold in AS IS condition with no expressed warranties.  Please ask your girlfriend or wife if its ok to purchase car. I have heard a lot of excuses why my finger hit the BUY button and WON the car after several other potential customers lost out.  Please have you ship together and make this transaction roll smoothly.  I WILL! Feel free to call or text me a message about the car and we can go from there. 425-454-6629.
I use a great shipper who ships world wide to just about anywhere.  Royal Auto Transport out of LA and Ameer does a great job at being competitive with his pricing and works hard to give you a feeling of comfort during the process till the car gets to you.  I will assist to load or help where ever is needed.
Thank you for looking at this NOVA and have a great day.

Weekly Recap: Autonomous driving goes commercial in Nevada

Sat, May 9 2015

Nevada granted Daimler Trucks North America the first license to run an autonomous commercial vehicle on public roads in the United States Tuesday, marking another milestone in the technology's rapid advancement. Gov. Brian Sandoval and Daimler truck chief Wolfgang Bernhard promptly used the license to lap Highway 15 near Las Vegas in a newly revealed Freightliner Inspiration Truck. It was a clear signal that autonomous driving is big-rig reality, though it's still a long way from widespread use. Nevada certified two of Daimler's Freightliner Inspiration Trucks, which use the company's Highway Pilot system with a stereo camera, radar, and lane-keeping collision-prevention features to regulate the brakes and steering. The radar component has a long-range sensor that can cover 820 feet at an 18-degree angle and a shorter-range unit that stretches 230 feet at a 130-degree angle. The Inspiration trucks are based on the existing Freightliner Cascadia Evolution model used on US roads. In addition to the autonomous technologies, it also has futuristic design cues, including blue lighting in the front and a new hood and grille. While there are only two Freightliner Inspiration trucks in existence, Daimler expects to bring the Highway Pilot system into mass-produced big rigs by 2025, in time to capitalize on the market's predicted growth. The German truckmaker predicts the global hauling market will triple by 2050, and the United States will be a key part of that growth. Trucks carry 69.1 percent the nation's domestic freight tonnage and hauled 9.7 billion tons of freight in 2013, according to the American Trucking Association. Daimler expects autonomous driving to augment this growth, and perhaps evolve the role of the truck driver. Still, the company points out autonomous tech is not meant to replace drivers, but to assist them and relieve fatigue and monotony on long hauls. The driver has to stay in control for passing, in city traffic, and when hooking up the trailer. The company said autonomous driving also offers the potential for improved fuel economy – tests showed a five-percent gain – and lower maintenance costs. Daimler also said the technology could reduce congestion on the road. Much of this is attributable to the constant flow of traffic, which is aided by autonomous driving. While the benefits are becoming increasingly apparent, autonomous technology is still met with skepticism.

Looking back on our favorite cars of Mad Men

Tue, Apr 7 2015

The second half of the seventh and final season of Mad Men debuted this week, set to cap a run of public and critical acclaim. A decade's worth of interesting cars also made for good television, if you were paying attention. Vehicles didn't often steal the spotlight from Don, Betty, Roger, Joan and the gang, but they added meaningfully to the tone and beauty of the series. We sorted through the wheeled extras from Mad Men's archives, and choose some of our favorites to highlight. The list consists of cars that had at least a small impact on the plot of an episode, though certainly there are worthy gems hiding in just about every street and driving scene. Check out our subjective top five, and then let us know which of the Mad Men cars would be on your list. 1962 Cadillac Coupe DeVille – Season 2 Don Draper's Cadillac Coupe DeVille, all 500 feet of it, shows up in a few seasons of the show, but it's the first appearance that sets the tone. A Cadillac salesman, cut from the same cloth as Draper, asks what Don drives right now. "A Dodge," Don admits. "Those are wonderful if you want to get somewhere," allows the salesman, "this is for when you've already arrived." For a man on the move up corporate and social ladders that's a powerful message, and a pitch-perfect car. 1961 Lincoln Continental – Season 3 The most stylish Lincoln Continental ever is perfect set dressing for the mod show, of course. Though it's interesting that the car isn't cast as dapper Draper's ride, but rather his father-in-law's. Grandpa Gene does what all great grandfathers are bound to: lets his granddaughter Sally drive the big Lincoln while he works the pedals. Generational bond secured, in fine fashion. When you go back through the first three seasons of the show, you'll notice that Continentals show up more than once, too. There's nothing quite like them to evoke the best of the early '60s. 1963 John Deere 110 – Season 3 The only non-standard passenger vehicle on the list, no self-respecting gearhead/Mad Men fan should quibble with the inclusion of the John Deere 110 riding mower. For starters, the Deere is lovely to look at; a miniature version of the American Heartland icon in its green and yellow duds. The 110 appears as if milled from a solid block of steel, just the opposite of today's sleek, plasticky lawn minders (we're scouring Craigslist for one to bring home). The John Deere also has dear ramifications to the plot, too.

Meet the mother-daughter team that's worked on almost every Chevy Volt

Sun, May 11 2014

It's Mother's Day, and we're soft enough we love our mothers enough to share a new video from General Motors with you. In it, we meet Monique Watson (left) and Evetta Osbourne, a mother-daughter team that works at the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly where GM makes the Chevy Volt (along with all of GM's other plug-in hybrids: the Opel Ampera, Holden Volt and Cadillac ELR). The two work side-by-side and have installed the lithium-ion battery pack on almost all of those vehicles - nearly 80,000 of them - since GM started making the pre-production Volts in 2009. In a prepared statement, Watson said that she likes working next to her mom, day in and day out, and they the two are totally in sync when it comes to putting the 400-pound, 16.5-kWh packs into the vehicle undersides. They two can also share stories throughout the day, and Watson said, "The arrangement has absolutely improved our relationship." Osborne started working at Detroit-Hamtramck in 1999, Watson since 2006. If you're driving a Volt today, you probably have them to thank for doing a bit of the work putting your car together. See a short video of them in action below. It's Always Mother's Day for Detroit-Hamtramck Duo Mother, daughter install lithium-ion battery pack in nearly all GM electric vehicles 2014-05-08 DETROIT – For Detroit resident Evetta Osborne, every day is Mother's Day. That's because she literally works side by side with her daughter, Monique Watson, at General Motors' Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant. They have installed the lithium-ion battery pack on nearly every Chevrolet Volt, Opel Ampera, Holden Volt, and Cadillac ELR since production began. In fact, apart from vacation days and an occasional sick day, the mother-daughter duo has installed almost every battery pack since the Volt was in pre-production in 2009. The ELR launched earlier this year. All told – including Ampera – that's more than 80,000 electric vehicles. "We're a good team and our relationship is secondary when it comes to performing our jobs – but it's great to work alongside my daughter, said Osborne, a mother of five. Because the battery packs weigh more than 400 pounds each, automatic guided vehicles – robotic carts that use sensors to follow a path through the plant – deliver them just as the vehicle body structures glide into position overhead. The carts then lift the T-shaped packs, and Osborne and Watson guide them into the chassis and secure each one with 24 fasteners.
