1972 Chevrolet Rally Nova

Here we have a 1972 Rally Nova, Matching number car with "Sky Roof"

1972 and 1973 were the only years the sky roof was available in the Nova line. Out of a total of 349,733 Novas built in 1972, only 6,822 units received the sky roof option. For 1973, it was still an option, and 3,259 were installed.

Everything on the car is original, however anything on the car that was changed was at least an option offered.
I have owned the car since 2006, and I am the third owner.
The car runs great! It starts right up, has a great sound from the Cat-back exhaust, and really moves down the road from the 650 Holley Carb and beefed up Hedman headers.
In 2006 I had the motored pulled and completely rebuilt, gone through and cleaned. I have kept up with nearly every receipt of anything I did to the car just as the owners did before me. I have yet to see another Rally Nova on the road, at a car show, and especially with the "Ventura Sky Roof". This car turns heads everywhere it goes.
The car has the original 3 speed manual transmission and factory manual steering.
The car came with AC, but when the headers came on the AC came off. I have the AC in storage, but will need to track it down.
All original Blue Bench seats, with the "Deluxe Nova" Interior.
Originally an Arizona car, almost completely rust free. Any rust on the car is surface. There are some bubbles coming up under the vinyl top.
In 2012 the car was given a paint job, and new decals. However, the gentleman who put on the decals did not do it correctly and they did not take. You can see in the pictures how the car looked with the new paint and decals, and what it looks like now.
The same year my father backed his lawn mower into the car, put about a 6 inch dent on the bottom of the door. (Not a happy son)
Back to the cool stuff, The car has the original Rally Wheels and Center Caps and era correct tires with spare. All the chrome on the car is perfect. Again, this was an Arizona car and garage kept. I have a great Kenwood sound system in the car, so roll the windows down, put the sunroof back and cruise.
I have the original owner's manual, stickers, and documentation that came with car. (Reference Pictures)
This car is a lot of fun to drive. It turns heads everywhere it goes. Constantly asked questions about the Sky Roof option. It seems everyone has heard of the option, but never got to see one in person.
The body is straight and 99% rust free. Just needs a little TLC.
I absolutely love this car and in no hurry to sell. I'm just wanting to get some feelers out there. Please email me if interested.

Sinkhole Opens Up In National Corvette Museum, Swallows Eight Cars

Wed, Feb 12 2014

More cars are being moved inside the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Ky. to avoid falling down the same sinkhole that swallowed eight classic sports cars early this morning, Autoblog reported. Museum officials said the hole was discovered when motion sensors activated around 5:45 a.m. The rescue mission can be viewed on the museum's live feed cameras, which weren't working after the sinkhole emerged. A 1993 ZR-1 Spyder and a 2009 ZR1 "Blue Devil," both on loan from General Motors, were among the cars that fell into the sinkhole. The museum owned the other affected Corvettes, which included a 1963 Corvette, a 1984 PPG Pace Car and the 1 millionth Corvette ever produced. The state of the cars at the bottom of the hole isn't known, but trial lawyer and sinkhole expert Ted Corless said the cars may be a total loss for the museum and GM. "Most states, including Kentucky, exclude damage caused by sinkhole activity," he said. "There will be, in all likelihood, a claim made, but a lot of policies would specifically exclude these kinds of damages." Corless has 15 years experience dealing with sinkholes. He said that typically neither the building, nor the cars themselves are protected under their insurance policies. "I would have to say, more likely then not, they're going to have an uninsured loss measured in the hundreds of thousands of dollars." The museum is closed Wednesday while a structural engineer assesses the damage. Here are all the cars GM is axing as part of its restructuring

Tue, Nov 27 2018

GM plans to kill off a couple of great and a few meh cars as part of its restructuring. Here's a rundown of all the cars being phased out of production. None of the vehicles GM axed were SUVs or crossovers. Instead, it was an action reminiscent of what Ford recently decided to do by discontinuing U.S. sales every Blue Oval sedan. GM just didn't explicitly say, "We're killing our cars," like Ford did — probably a smart move by GM. Keep scrolling down to see the full list of deceased GM models. Chevrolet Volt This one was the most surprising of all the cars GM decided to can, primarily because cars with plugs are supposed to be our future. However, maybe consumer demand just isn't quite there yet for a plug-in like the Volt. We came up with all sorts of ideas for what was to blame for the untimely demise of the Volt, so go check that out for a full breakdown of the situation. Cadillac CT6 Here's another car we'll be sad to see go. Cadillac's flagship sedan was such a joy to drive, and it served as the conduit to deliver GM's semi-autonomous Super Cruise system, which still hasn't been surpassed by any other company's technology in our books, even Tesla's Autopilot. That being said, GM does plan to produce the CT6 until March, with the last cars coming off the line set to be twin-turbo V8 V-Series models. If it's going to go, this seems like a pretty great way to make an exit. We'll be patiently awaiting the next flagship Cadillac once this one finally fades away. Chevrolet Impala The Impala is actually a pretty good car. It doesn't sell terribly, and we think it's a completely satisfactory car to drive. However, people would rather have a Traverse or Equinox these days, making the Impala one of the vehicles to find itself on this list. Chevrolet is keeping its smaller brother, the Malibu, but a big, full-size sedan just isn't what people are ordering up these days. It's unfortunate to see it go, but we won't be broken up over it. Chevrolet Cruze We wouldn't rank the Cruze at the top of the compact car class, but if you were looking for a small, cheap American car, it was either this or the Focus. The Cruze had the potential to be a true small performance car if Chevy had ever wanted to make it into one. But sadly, we're seeing it bow out before Chevy ever tried to slot a hot engine and suspension in there to make it competitive with other hot hatches. A Cruze SS would have made enthusiasts take notice.

First 2016 Chevy Volt commercial rocks us to sleep

Fri, Jan 30 2015

The 2016 Chevrolet Volt, with its thorough restyling and increased all-electric range, is an exciting evolution of Chevy's groundbreaking plug-in hybrid, so it's only fitting that the commercial campaign to sell it to the masses also be engaging and vibrant. Well, the first ad has just been officially released and it rocks... us to sleep. Now, we get that General Motors didn't want to repeat past Volt-commercial mistakes. No one wants to see dogs licking feet or dumb (and weirdly horny) aliens again. Nor would it be smart to slam all-electric vehicles, since it now sells the Spark EV and has just revealed its 200-mile Bolt concept. So, what does that leave? How about a mostly computer-generated spot that relies on cliche images and an upbeat synthetic soundtrack to communicate that the Volt is now as boring as other four-door appliances? An intro, featuring a lightly-bearded gentleman peering at his tablet through designer glasses launches us into the action as the Volt makes its way across a city bridge, then a curvaceous country road. Chevrolet doesn't include voiceover to inform you that the new Volt has a 50-mile battery-only range. There's no mention of its gas mileage once its electric charge is depleted – items that just might be of importance to hybrid buyers. The ad also makes no attempt at establishing an emotional connection, either through drama or comedy. There are, however, lots of fast cuts of the new, normalized interior, including a two-second detail shot featuring the windshield wiper switch. We imagine that this is only the first in a series of spots that will tell the Volt story and motivate potential buyers to run down to their local dealer, hopefully the next spots will be more interesting and informative.
