Las Cruces, New Mexico, United States
UP FOR SALE IS THIS 1972 NOVA YENCO TRIBUTE. THIS CAR APPEARS TO ME A NUMBERS-MATCHING CAR BECAUSE IT SHOWS IT WAS AN ORIGINAL 307 ENGINE WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION BUT I'M NOT SURE. I LOOKED AT THE NUMBERS ON THE BLOCK AND IT SHOWS IT'S A 1970-1972 PASSENGER CAR 307 SO IT'S DEFINITELY PERIOD CORRECT. YOU ARE LOOKING AT A PRETTY CLEAN 72 NOVA, 2 DOOR THAT RUNS AND DRIVES PRETTY GOOD. IT'S NOT A RESTORED CAR OR A CAR SHOW QUALITY. THIS CAR IS A NICE EXAMPLE OF A CLEAN DAILY DRIVER, BUT IT IS STILL CONSIDERED A PROJECT BECAUSE IT NEEDS A FEW THINGS AND HAS A FEW FLAWS... FIRST THING I WOULD TAKE CARE OF IS BLEEDING THE BRAKES, I PUT NEW BRAKES ALL AROUND AND A NEW WHEEL CYLINDER THAT WAS LEAKING. AFTER DOING THE BRAKES AND THE WHEEL CYLINDER IT STARTED TO FEEL SPONGY I HAVE BEEN TOLD IT NEEDS BLEEDING. I WOULD ADVICE TO MAYBE REBUILD THE FRONT SUSPENSION IF YOU WANT A SUPER NICE RIDE. ALSO, NEEDS DOORS AND TRUNK WEATHER STRIPPING, GAS GAUGE DOES NOT WORK. WINDSHIELD HAS A CRACK AND PAINT HAS A FEW DINGS AND SCRATCHES HERE AND THERE BUT LIKE I SAID ITS A NICE DAILY DRIVER. SEATS LOOK LIKE NEW, CARPET DOOR PANELS AND HEADLINER APPEAR TO BE ORIGINAL AND IN GOOD SHAPE. IT HAS A NICE RADIO WITH SPEAKERS AND AMPLIFIER THAT SOUND REALLY GOOD. TIRES WILL NEED REPLACING IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO DRIVE LONG DISTANCE (TO BE SAFE). ALL LIGHTS WORK INSIDE AND OUT. IT HAS AN AFTERMARKET DISTRIBUTOR, HEADERS, ALUMINUM INTAKE AND CARBURETOR, B&M FLOOR SHIFTER, HAS ALL 4 ORIGINAL GM CORVETTE RIMS AND CAPS. I'M JUST TRYING DESCRIBE THE CAR TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE SINCE YOU ARE NOT PRESENT. THIS CAR IS A REAL HEAD TURNER EVERYWHERE I GO, THIS COULD BE YOUR FATHER-SON/DAUGHTER PROJECT. IT COULD BE YOUR NEW WEEKEND HOBBY TO GET OUT OF THE HOUSE OR BUILD A MONSTER MUSCLE MACHINE TO TAKE TO THE TRACK OR ENJOY IT AS IS TO WEEKEND EVENTS OR TAKE YOUR GIRLFRIEND/WIFE FOR A SPIN DOWN MEMORY LANE. THIS IS A GREAT STARTER BECAUSE THE BODY LOOKS REALLY GOOD AND FLOORS AND TRUNK LOOK REALLY SOLID. CAR IS 98% COMPLETE. ALL LIGHTS WORK AND WIRING IS NOT BUTCHERED... PLEASE ASK FOR PICTURES OR QUESTIONS IF YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS. DON'T ASSUME AND KEEP IT SAFE!!!! I WILL ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE. Watch the live reveal of the 2014 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra [UPDATE]
Thu, 13 Dec 2012UPDATE: The trucks have been revealed. Click here for all of the official details.
As promised, Chevrolet and GMC are offering a live webcast of the world premiere for the all-new 2014 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500. After being teased with spy shots and blurry images like the one above for ages, now is the time to see the trucks in the metal, for real (well, as 'real' as it gets on a webcast, at any rate).
Shift your eyes down just below to see the reveal as it happens, starting at 9:30 AM EST. We anticipate having loads of images full technical information to share after the webcast, too, so truck aficionados should stay tuned. We'll also be bringing you live images of both trucks too, when we see them on the show floor at next month's Detroit Auto Show.
Why 2015 is going to be a huge year for trucks
Thu, Jan 22 2015Nissan chief executive Carlos Ghosn took center stage to introduce the 2016 Titan last week at the Detroit Auto Show. He spoke of the truck's new features, impressive Cummins V8 diesel engine and the extensive amount of time and money required to build a modern, competitive pickup truck. "We have done all of this because we see opportunity – an opportunity in the unmet needs of today's American truck customers," Ghosn said. He was speaking about the Titan, but his thoughts echo the industry's mindset: When it comes to trucks, find an opportunity and attack. Even with CAFE regulations looming and fickle consumer preferences, investing in trucks is a no-brainer for automakers. Some consumers will always need a truck for their job or lifestyle. And some people will always want one, whether they need it or not. With that in mind, here are four reasons why the pickup-truck sector is more important than ever and poised for growth in 2015. View 24 Photos The Nissan Titan Is Back Okay, it never left, but the Titan hadn't been redesigned since its launch in 2003, and Nissan sold more NV200s than Titans in 2014. It's an understatement to say the truck was languishing. That all changes with the 2016 model. The Titan will come in two variants, a traditional fullsize competitor and the Titan XD. The XD will lead the market launch, and it arrives late this year. It's pitched as a "whitespace" offering, Nissan sales and marketing vice president Fred Diaz said. The idea is to offer something in the general size and price range of a fullsize truck, but also have some of the capability of a heavy-duty truck. The XD uses a fully boxed ladder frame, the chassis design from Nissan's commercial division, and the wheelbase is about 20 inches longer than other Titan models. The XD, which Nissan is calling the flagship of the line, will be the only model with the 5.0-liter Cummins turbodiesel V8. It produces 310 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque, while being able to tow 12,000 pounds. V6 and V8 gasoline models will also be offered on the Titan XD and the standard, non-XD model. When production ramps up, the Titan will be sold with several cabs, beds and trims. New features include trailer sway control, an integrated trailer brake controller, more storage options in the cabin and even laminated front and rear side glass to reduce outside noise. All of this has given Nissan fresh confidence in an area where it admittedly has been lacking. "We can compete," Diaz told Autoblog.
General Motors CEO Provides Few Details In Appearance Before Congress
Wed, Apr 2 2014It was only two months ago that Mary Barra, freshly crowned as the new General Motors chief executive officer, visited Washington DC as an esteemed guest of First Lady Michelle Obama for the State of the Union address. On Tuesday, Barra returned to the Capitol under more strained circumstances. For more than two contentious hours, she took questions from members of a House of Representatives subcommittee investigating General Motors years-long delay in initiating a recall of millions of vehicles that contained a defect that has killed at least 13 people. Why did GM accept faulty ignition switches that were below the company's set specfications? Why did GM learn about the problem in 2001 yet take no action until 2014? Will GM compensate victims' families even though the company's bankruptcy may limit its liability? Those were a few of the questions members of the House Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee asked. Few concrete answers were forthcoming. For her part, Barra sidestepped most of the questions, saying she wouldn't have information needed to answer them until an internal review is completed. David Friedman, the administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, testified after Barra. The biggest news that emerged from the hearing was that General Motors has retained attorney Kenneth Feinberg to advise the company on its civil and legal responsibilities. He has made a career of resolving disputes and serving in a 'fixer' role, serving as the chief of the federal government's September 11th Victim Compensation Fund, as an administrator of compensation fund for victims of the BP Deepwater Horizon disaster and a similar fund for victims of the Boston Marathon bombing. Barra, who has been GM's CEO since January but been with the company since 1980, expects to meet with Feinberg on Friday, and have a concrete plan within the next 30-60 days. Yet Barra would not say for certain Tuesday that GM would compensate the victims at all. Despite repeated questions from Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Colo.), Barra did not outline the company's intentions. "I assume GM is hiring (Feinberg) to help identify the size of claims and then compensate the victims? Is that right," DeGette asked. "Is GM willing to put together some kind of a compensation fund for these victims that Mr. Feinberg will then administer?" "We've hired him to help assess the situation," Barra replied. "So really, there's no money involved at this point," DeGette asked.
