1966 Chevrolet Nova on 2040-cars
Cleveland, Tennessee, United States
For sale is a 1966 Nova SS. It was equipped with a 327 - 350hp engine (L-79) option, with a 4-speed,and a 12 bolt posi 3:73 gear ratio.
Unfortunately, The second owner still has the correct engine, but is unwilling to sell it. The 4 speed is also gone. The 3/8" fuel line is still attached to the car. The original engine was pulled and another engine was installed for drag racing. It has bucket seats and new interior panels not yet installed. Seats are in very good condition, but need new covers. The person I bought the car from decided he wanted to restore it but lost interest. Have numerous parts that were collected over the years. Surprisingly, almost no rust. What there is very minimal. Few small holes in the trunk, which you can barely see, and a couple of bubbles in the paint at the rear wheel wells. The floors, rocker panels, etc, etc. are rust Free! Have both bumpers and all exterior stanless mouldings which are in very good shape. Windshield, front and back and all glass is excellent. Passengers side window has a cracked glass. The color code on the firewall says exterior color was Yellow, with Black interior. The color now is dark green, almost black and a real mickey mouse paint job. This car needs to be restored to it's original glory. This is an easy project worth doing! Any further questions, please call me @ 615-785-2100 Pete On Apr-14-14 at 05:14:04 PDT, seller added the following information: **This car is also advertised for sale locally, so I reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time. **NO RESERVE !! GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories
Wed, 06 Feb 2013As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.
Chevy: The Big Game
Mon, Feb 2 2015Chevrolet took an early lead for the 2015 Super Bowl advertising crown with its spot for the all-new, 4G LTE-capable Colorado pickup in a spot that simulated a problem with your TV. The stark, simple ad then states that if you're lucky enough to have an Internet-capable vehicle, like the new Colorado, you'd at least be able to stream the game. A clever, chuckle-inducing spot if there was one. Check out our full write up of the new, 2015 Colorado. Marketing/Advertising Chevrolet Truck Super Bowl Commercials Videos 2015 super bowl ad
Frustrated GM investors ask what more Mary Barra can do
Mon, Oct 22 2018DETROIT — General Motors Co Chief Executive Mary Barra has transformed the No. 1 U.S. automaker in her almost five years in charge, but that is still not enough to satisfy investors. Ahead of third-quarter results due on Oct. 31, GM shares are trading about 6 percent below the $33 per share price at which they launched in 2010 in a post-bankruptcy initial public offering. The Detroit carmaker's stock is down 22 percent since Barra took over in January 2014. After hitting an all-time high of $46.48 on Oct. 24, 2017, the shares have declined 33 percent. In the same period, the Standard & Poor's 500 index has climbed 7.8 percent. Several shareholders contacted by Reuters said GM could face a third major action by activist shareholders in less than four years if the share price does not improve. "I've been expecting it," said John Levin, chairman of Levin Capital Strategies. "It just seems a tempting morsel to somebody." Levin's firm owns more than seven million GM shares. Barra has guided the company through the settlement of a federal criminal probe of a mishandled safety recall, sold off money-losing European operations, and returned $25 billion to shareholders through dividends and stock buybacks from 2012 through 2017. GM declined to comment for this story, but the company's executives privately express frustration with the market's reluctance to see it as anything more than a manufacturer tied mainly to auto market sales cycles. GM's profitable North American truck and SUV business and its money-making China operations are valued at just $14 billion, excluding the value of GM's stake in its $14.6 billion Cruise automated vehicle business and its cash reserves from its $44 billion market capitalization. The recent slump in the Chinese market, GM's largest, and plateauing U.S. demand are ratcheting up the pressure. GM is one of the few global automakers without a founding family or a government to serve as a bulwark against corporate raiders. In 2015, a group led by investor Harry Wilson pressed GM to launch a $5 billion share buyback, and commit to what is now an $18 billion ceiling on the level of cash the company would hold. In 2017, GM fended off a call by hedge fund manager David Einhorn to split its common stock shares into two classes. Einhorn, whose firm still owned more than 21 million shares at the end of June, declined to comment about GM's stock price. Other investors said there were no clear alternatives to Barra's approach.
