1965 Chevy Ii Nova 2 Door Sedan.12,000 Orig Miles, 99% Orig.rust Free, Runs Good on 2040-cars
Sunnyvale, California, United States
12,625 original miles and almost all original (not restored, original). Here is the condition described as best as I can: A rust free, unrestored, completely stock, nice driving vehicle. It is literally, as-purchased in 1965 with the 194 ci. 6 cylinder engine, powerglide automatic, heater, radio delete and seat belts. Engine and transmission run superbly and all systems, except for the heater, work properly including the dome light, all gauges, indicator lights, turn signals, headlights, taillights, parking lights, etc. The heater fan and controls work fine but the heater core leaked and the core was bypassed and never replaced. It has all 5 original 13”- 5 bolt rims, tires, and dog dish hubcaps. I just put new tires are on it, and I have the originals. 4 of the 5 originals held air but have cracks and are too old to use. Hubcaps have some cracks and dents, but are restorable. I am not a Nova expert, but believe all body, interior, engine, trans, radiator, suspension, brakes, shocks, engine compartment, exhaust system, bushings, bearings, etc are original except for oil filter, oil, cap, rotor, ignition wires, water pump, carb, battery hold down and battery. I did a tune-up, oil change, and water pump when I got it; the battery hold down was missing; the carb just recently started leaking and I installed a new one in the last few days. I have the original carb. All interior is original. Front and rear seats are excellent with some slight age related discoloring, Rear seat doesn’t look like it was ever sat in. Original rubber floor mats still have original sound deadening. Mat is torn on the passenger side from being pulled up with the heater core issue. Passenger door armrest plastic mount was broken by me. I have the replacement with the original pad. Brake and gas pedal pads are original with almost no wear. Headliner is undamaged and looks great. Door and trunk weather stripping is complete and original, but is cracking from age. dorrs and trunk close tight. The body/frame/suspension are rust free other than surface coloration from bare spots, scratches and two exceptions. 1)The heater core leaked and no one paid attention, so there is an easily fixed pin hole in the passenger side floorboard; 2)The bottom of the battery tray has some corrosion. The paint is original and has the usual age related patina with all sorts of minor chips, dings and scratches. The body seems unhit and straight except for a fixable dent in the driver door and a scrape/dent on the driver’s side lower panel. (See photos). The front bumper has a slight tweak at the bumper bracket. Bumpers are bright and shiny with very light pitting. All of the other trim is as good if not better. The car was last registered in 1983 and stored in a garage/barn in North Carolina (barn find?) until I purchased it from the nephew of the original buyer. (See photo) It was protected, and out of weather, but used as a shelf and people walked next to it and opened doors into it. It was bought new in 1965 by an older school teacher who used it very little through 1979 when she retired and used it even less. She passed away in 1983 and left the car to her 13 year old nephew when it was put away for him. He titled it in 1988 in his name but had no interest in it and left it stored until I purchased it from him. It was shipped to me in good running condition and on the original tires. It has 12,625 miles on the odometer at this writing and is currently registered with a good I have the original protect-o-plate and maintenance book, and what I believe is the original 2 sets of keys, a copy of the title from when it was transferred to him in 1988, as well as 2 North Carolina state inspection records from 1982 with 10,682 miles, and 1983 with 10,711 miles. Every effort has been made to describe this vehicle as accurately as possible. Please contact me for any more information or photos. There are no warranties expressed or implied and I encourage you to inspect it yourself or have it inspected by a knowledgeable car person. Everything except the undercarriage has been cleaned, but not detailed. It is the real McCoy. A $500 non-refundable deposit is required within 48 hours. Balance of payment must be cleared within 7 days or contact me to make other arrangements. I will not release vehicle until all funds are cleared by my bank. I can store the vehicle for up to 30 days at no extra charge as long as it is paid for in full within 7 days. Pickup/delivery/shipping is your responsibility. I will help with coordinating it conveniently with you and assist with any type of shipping including personal delivery for a fair price. I am happy to discuss any details with you by e-mail or phone. Interested parties can send me an e-mail with your phone number and best time to call or I will send you my number. Available separately! I had thoughts of making this into a mini-muscle clone, so I collected some parts to make it into a 327, 4 speed, sleeper, grandma’s car. I have a nice factory stock clutch and brake pedal assembly, a full factory original SS gauge package, factory stock 283/327 engine mounts, an original bench seat |

GM puts 3 million miles on hydrogen fuel cell test fleet
Mon, May 12 2014Have General Motors' hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles emitted enough water vapor over the past six-plus years to equal the steam coming out of Old Faithful? Not exactly, but GM has released a few figures related to the Project Driveway initiative it began in 2007. The numbers are impressive, if not quite of the geyser-spouting variety. In all, the General converted 119 Chevrolet Equinox SUVs to run on hydrogen, and those vehicles have just collectively surpassed the 3 million mile mark. And if you were waiting for us to tell you that the distance equals a half-dozen round trips between the earth and the moon, well, there you go. The better news is that the SUVs have combined to save almost 158,000 gallons worth of gas, and some of the vehicles have more than 120,000 miles on them. More than 5,000 drivers have participated in the project. GM reached that landmark about 10 months after it announced that it was working with Honda to accelerate the development of hydrogen fuel-cell powertrain technology. The two companies estimated last summer that it may have something to sell to the public as soon as 2020. For now, you can check out General Motors' press release below. GM Fuel Cell Fleet Tops 3 Million Miles Chevrolet Equinox fuel cell vehicles driven in real world reach milestone DETROIT – General Motors' fleet of fuel cell vehicles recently passed 3 million miles of hydrogen-powered, real-world driving. Some individual vehicles have accumulated more than 120,000 miles. By GM's estimate, using hydrogen to power these vehicles, the fleet has avoided 157,894 gallons of gasoline consumption. This specially equipped fleet of Chevrolet Equinox Fuel Cell vehicles are part of GM's 119-vehicle Project Driveway program, which launched in 2007. Since then, more than 5,000 drivers have provided feedback on the functionality and drivability of fuel cell technology. "Hydrogen fuel cell technology is an important part of GM's advanced propulsion portfolio and we continue to make substantial progress in furthering this technology," said Charlie Freese, executive director of GM's global fuel cell engineering activities. "These vehicles have operated through seven full winters and a wide range of environmental conditions, proving that fuel cells can meet the demands of real-world drivers." Last year, GM announced two fuel cell-related collaborations.
GM Recalling 370,000 Trucks For Fire Risk
Mon, Jan 13 2014DETROIT (AP) - General Motors is recalling 370,000 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups from the 2014 model year to fix software that could cause the exhaust components to overheat and start a fire. The recall includes 303,000 trucks in the U.S. and 67,000 in Canada and Mexico. All of the trucks involved have 4.3-liter or 5.3-liter engines. GM said eight fires have been reported, but no injuries. One garage was damaged, the company said. All of the incidents occurred in cold weather. The company is asking customers not to leave their trucks idling unattended. GM dealers will reprogram the software for free. The company will inform owners starting Jan. 16. The major recall announcement, which came on Saturday, marred the Silverado's winning of the 2014 North American Truck of the Year Award at the Detroit Auto Show on Monday. The Jitterbugs somersaulted at the 1986 Chicago Auto Show for the Chevy Nova
Tue, Dec 30 2014Judging by the vintage videos that the Chicago Auto Show has been uploading, if you wanted to check out the latest vehicles and watch some dancers in the same place in the late '80s and early '90s, then the Windy City event was definitely the place to be. We've already seen the Footlockers pitching the Cavalier in '88 and a troupe of women singing about the Geo brand in '91. Apparently, the trend went back even further, though. Just take a look at this group called the Jitterbugs selling some badge-engineered products from Chevrolet at the 1986 show. Flanked by the Chevy Nova and Spectrum, these guys managed to do a few pretty impressive jumps and somersaults but mixed them with some rather uninspired spins, as well. Also, wait for 1:24 into the clip to see the least enthusiastic backup dancers that the world has ever known. The Jitterbugs are even further proof that Chevy's habit of mixing dancing and its vehicles goes back even further than the Volt.
