1986 super sport Monte Carlo has 86,000+ miles on it. It sat for five years untouched when I got it. It has an earlier model 305 from 1976 Monte, which has more rated horsepower than the 86 motor. 1976 motor has about 68,000 miles. It has a comp cam 252 hydraulic cam and lifters. Elderbrock performer manifold Holley carb 600cfm. New fuel pump, flex fan. The body was just painted. Floors are in excellent condition no rust just surface rust. Runs very good have flowmaster mufflers turned down to rear NOT all the way to the back. Has a pin down fiberglass cowl hood. Has new rebuild turbo 350 trans only has 5 miles on it. New Hugh’s 2000-rpm converter. The Monte has power steering, the ac compressor is not on the car. It also has power windows, power locks. The car also comes with the accel coil in the trunk.

The Things That Are Not Working

1. The horn.

2. Needs a right side upper arm control bushing. The bushing comes with the car. The car runs and drives just find without.

3. Could use four new tires.

This car can be very nice for the right person to spend a little more time to make it perfect. Easy fixes

Chevy Corvette Stingray picks up another award, this time from Automobile

The new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has picked up another buff book accolade after capturing Road and Track's Performance Car of the Year award. The seventh-generation of America's sports car (sorry Viper, Mustang, et al.) has been named Automobile Magazine's Automobile of the Year.
Automobile's award to the Corvette over competitors is the mirror image of its rival Motor Trend, which named the Cadillac CTS its car of the year over the C7. The CTS was, according to the Automobile team, the closest contender to the mighty Stingray. Great news all around for General Motors it seems.
As for what pushed the Corvette past its distant, four-door cousin, Automobile commended its excellent, 6.2-liter V8 calling the car's performance "simply awesome" while also remarking that it is easier to drive fast than ever before thanks to steering and chassis tweaks. Following a theme set by other publications, there were also plaudits for the interior, of all things, with the buff book complimenting the car's ergonomics and material quality, while also praising the standard seats.

eBay Find of the Day: Mario Andretti's personal 2009 Corvette ZR1

With victory in the the Indianapolis 500, a Formula 1 World Championship, a win in the Daytona 500 and too many other motorsports accomplishments to list, Mario Andretti stands among not just the greatest American racing drivers of all time, but the greatest drivers, full stop. Apparently, the champ is also a fan of speed when not on the track, because now there's a chance to own what is said tobe his personal 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 with just 12,872 miles on the clock. The eBay Motors auction page clearly shows Mario Andretti standing with the car, but the rest of the ad is admittedly short on details. The vehicle history report lists only one previous owner – ostensibly Andretti. The exterior is a handsome Blade Silver Metallic accompanied by a Dark Titanium leather interior. However, the seller keeps additional information to a minimum as well with the description simply stating, "This 2009 Chevy Corvette ZR1 is owned by Mario Andretti and has been garage kept all its life. It is fully loaded with all option on this car." The future buyer will get a seriously great car along with some huge bragging rights at any party by touting its ownership history. We've reached out to the seller for more particulars and provenance, and will update this story if we hear back. In the meantime, the auction for this C6 ends on Thursday, January 8, and currently the reserve isn't met. The price sits at a hefty $68,100 as of this writing, with six bids registered.
