Sports, Red, Coupe, Project, Sub Woofers, Amp on 2040-cars

This car is a clean salvage title. And it does have a share of issues (but also very good points), however, let me explain the new pieces and history of it. This car is drive ready (given, it is rough. Please read below for information).
I strongly believe this car is worth fixing and driving. Before this small issue, I loved driving it and getting compliments on it being my car (I'm a student just out of HS). The car has many brand new parts on it (I never do used performance parts). Most of the new parts of for performance. I never got around to doing body work. Battery and alternators are GOOD (12.4V and 13.9V will running). CCA and CA of both show good during testing. The check engine light is on. I have an OBDII scanner and will show you what the codes mean. NEW PARTS - Power Steering Rack - Inner Tie Rods - Rack and Pinion - EGR valve - BRAND NEW A/C Control Head (cold A/C and heater work) - Brand new ignition switch (I never put the ignition cover back on). - Air filter - Spark plugs and wires - Fuel Filter (changed at 174,000 ODO) - Oil Filter (changed at 174,000 ODO) - New Oil Dipstick (inaccurate reading. cosmetic) - New Rear Brake pads (NEVER GOT TO CHANGING FRONT. WILL GIVE FREE FRONT PADS) - New Passenger side mirror - Seat covers for cosmetic - Has an AMP and subs in back. Not hooked up - NEW Front windshield - BRAND NEW tires (currently have 400 MILES on them) - New PCV valves USED PARTS - Engine upper intake plenum (installed by professional mechanic) There are problems with the car, as I said. I'm not sure what is 100% wrong. I no longer want to continue fixing things on this car (I am a student and cannot afford to continue tuning it. I have two little girls [sisters] that need safety to and from school). I will be getting a new car. KNOWN ISSUES - Engine code (P0300) - Rough acceleration - Exhaust vibrates ONLY AT IDLE - VERY ROUGH IDLE - Squeeking when accelerating (only on initial). Car will run fine once it gets above 30 MPH I suspect a sensor is bad. Changing them out should improve performance. Because of the issues, I suspect the TPS (throttle position sensor) or camshaft sensor. TPS is $30 at O'Reillys. Worth a swap. However, I recommend getting it professionally diagnosed at most repair shops for free. (Free diagnostics at most local shops). Gas treatment is also recommended and might clean up acceleration. I only put 93 OCTANE (premium) fuel in it. I have a log book of everything that has been done to the car. Will be given if purchased or viewed. Please text me at the contact number for any more details. I know everything about this car and will be happy to inform you of them. |

NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall
Wed, 13 Mar 2013
The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.
IIHS: High numbers of drivers treat partially automated cars as fully self-driving
Tue, Oct 11 2022WASHINGTON — Drivers using advanced driver assistance systems like Tesla Autopilot or General Motors Super Cruise often treat their vehicles as fully self-driving despite warnings, a new study has found. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), an industry funded group that prods automakers to make safer vehicles, said on Tuesday a survey found regular users of Super Cruise, Nissan/Infiniti ProPILOT Assist and Tesla Autopilot "said they were more likely to perform non-driving-related activities like eating or texting while using their partial automation systems than while driving unassisted." The IIHS study of 600 active users found 53% of Super Cruise, 42% of Autopilot and 12% of ProPILOT Assist owners "said that they were comfortable treating their vehicles as fully self-driving." About 40% of users of Autopilot and Super Cruise — two systems with lockout features for failing to pay attention — reported systems had at some point switched off while they were driving and would not reactivate. "The big-picture message here is that the early adopters of these systems still have a poor understanding of the technologyÂ’s limits," said IIHS President David Harkey. The study comes as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is scrutinizing Autopilot crashes. Since 2016, the NHTSA has opened 37 special investigations involving 18 deaths in crashes involving Tesla vehicles and where systems like Autopilot were suspected of use. Tesla did not respond to requests for comment. Tesla says Autopilot does not make vehicles autonomous and is intended for use with a fully attentive driver who is prepared to take over. GM, which in August said owners could use Super Cruise on 400,000 miles (643,740 km) of North American roads and plans to offer Super Cruise on 22 models by the end of 2023, did not immediately comment. IIHS said advertisements for Super Cruise focus on hands-free capabilities while Autopilot evokes the name used in passenger airplanes and "implies TeslaÂ’s system is more capable than it really is." IIHS in contrast noted ProPILOT Assist "suggests that itÂ’s an assistance feature, rather than a replacement for the driver." NHTSA and automakers say none of the systems make vehicles autonomous. Nissan said its name "is clearly communicating ProPILOT Assist as a system to aid the driver, and it requires hands-on operation.
Europeans ask Chevy to bring Volt back to Europe
Fri, Aug 14 2015A group of French fans is asking for a jolt of support from General Motors to get the 2016 Chevrolet Volt across the pond. The Association Amperistes et Amis des Vehicules Rechargeables is running a Change.org petition that currently has 383 signatures out of a goal of 500. While the attempt is admirable, it's probably going to take a lot more than several hundred people for the model to make a return to the continent after the poor showing of the Opel Ampera – first-gen Volt's European cousin. The group's major argument for bringing a version of the second-gen Volt to Europe is that consumers need "an intermediate choice between expensive or range-limited pure electric cars and plug-in hybrids with a miserable electric range." Furthermore, such a vehicle would prod the competition to produce similarly efficient electrified models. They also lavish praise on the abilities of the Ampera for its long EV driving range. The supporters aren't entirely kind to GM in the petition, though, and claim the company excluded the original car from marketing efforts there. The Ampera actually enjoyed a strong European launch with more orders than initially expected and briefly topped the best-sellers list among EVs there. It was even named 2012 European Car of the Year. Those halcyon days didn't last long, and by 2014 sales fell off to a trickle. The waning reception caused GM's decision not to introduce a version of the new 2016 Volt there or in Australia. Related Video:
