Mint 86 Monte Carlo Ss, G-body, Time Capsule, 31k Miles, L69,g80, Needs Nothing! on 2040-cars
Englishtown, New Jersey, United States
Up for auction is a beautiful 1986 Monte Carlo SS. It has approximately 31,900 original miles with a completely untouched stock drivetrain. Has current NJ State Inspection until 2016. It has always been garage kept and is in beautiful condition with no rust, no accidents, and no dents or body damage to speak of with the exception of a couple of very small chips, which is normal for an original paint car. The car along the way of it's life has been upgraded with a power moonroof which is fully operational with no problems, window tint, 1 inch cowl hood, 18 inch torque thrust wheels with Hancock tires and a CD player with MP3 and iPod compatibility, upgraded speakers from stock for a nicer sound, and LED headlights. I believe I am the third owner, I purchased the car from a good friend who took care of the car meticulously and always had it garage kept. The drivetrain is completely stock down to the original exhaust, nothing has been done to modify this car in anyway. The car still rides on its original suspension including shocks and drives beautifully with no rattles or shakes. It is equipped with F41 suspension, G80 differential and the L69 high output 5.0L V-8. The steering is tight, the brakes are strong and the engine is powerful. The car has a new radiator due to a leak from the original, the cooling system was completely flushed, all belts were replaced using AC Delco parts and the rear differential fluid was replaced with synthetic fluid and a limited slip additive. The car has been babied its whole life and it shows when you drive it, it feels like a new car. I had plans to install a LS1 engine and turn it into a street rod but the car is so nice it would be a shame to alter the car in anyway. This is the reason why I am selling it. And also I have no room to store the car properly since it is original paint. Look over the pictures, if you have any questions just email me. I have all the paperwork from when the car was new and receipts for work that was done throughout the years up until 2014. Please do not ask for the reserve price. Also please do not ask how much to end the auction early. If you have an offer just send it to me along with a name and a phone number and we can discuss it. The original rims, and radio are all available if the winning bidder decides he/she wants them. Car absolutely needs nothing, just a new owner! The car was fully detailed, wet sanded and buffed and looks great. Thanks for looking! Please look at my feedback on the cars I have sold in the past. I do not exaggerate, mislead or lie about my cars. The way I describe them are the way they are. I buy and sell cars as a hobby, not a business. I love many different cars, but I am not rich. I need to sell a car to have the next one. ANYONE WITH LESS THAN 5 FEEDBACKS, THE BID WILL BE RETRACTED. I HAVE HAD PEOPLE WITH LITTLE TO NO FEEDBACK RUIN AN AUCTION BECAUSE THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW EBAY WORKS. IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO LIST A CAR ON EBAY TO HAVE SOMEONE RUIN IT. SORRY, PAST ISSUES HAVE MADE ME CHANGE THE WAY I SELL THINGS ON EBAY, ESPECIALLY A CAR. PLEASE NO THIRD PARTY REPRESENTATIVES!
PLEASE NO LOW BALL OFFERS OR TEST DRIVERS, ONLY SERIOUS BUYERS, DON'T WASTE MY TIME OR YOURS!!!!!!!!! ***IN THE AD IT STATES THAT IT HAS 18 INCH TORQUE THRUST. IT DOESNT! IT HAS THE ORIGINAL WHEELS WITH NEW BF GOODRICH RADIAL T/A's, THANKS,*** |

Mother's Day Suggestion No. 2,506
Thu, 02 May 2013With Mother's Day coming up, we're always looking for new gift ideas to celebrate the occasion, but hot laps around a track might not be the best suggestion for Darius Khashabi. In a video posted on YouTube, Khashabi straps his mom into the passenger seat of his C6 Corvette Z06 for some laps around Sonoma Raceway (formerly Infineon Raceway) at "60 percent" with comical results.
Now this isn't the first time Mama Khashabi has gotten seat time in her son's car around a track, as his YouTube page shows him pulling a similar stunt - with similar results - around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca last year. Scroll down for the video, but know that the action really gets going at around the 1:40 mark.
GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value
Thu, 12 Jun 2014Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.
