Here we go guys, This 72 Chevy Monet Carlo began its life in Kansas city. This car was well cared for its entire life, In hopes to build an award winning show car, this costly no-expense spared restoration began. The body work started with straightening the body and addressing any and all rust issues. Anew vinyl top was added and all glass replaced. The entire suspension system, frame rails, and firewall, were blasted with red-garnet and clear coated. New inner fenders were installed. The floors were repaired with new metal and dyna-mat was applied to all surfaces. The paint was applied by 'House of Color'. Base coat, clear coat with ghost flames and contrasting super sport stripes. The paint job is completely over the top! The interior has been upgraded to modern bucket seats, a custom console was added and formed to complete the upgrade. A Pioneer touch screen with DVD was added into console. In the custom upholstered trunk are 2 12 inch Kicker sub-woofers and 2 800 watt amps to power the entire system. The sound is earth-shattering. To complete the interior we covered every surface with bright red Corinthian Leather including custom door panels and headliner and seats. The carpet was hand crafted as well using leather binding and cut and stitched to perfection! To complete the appearance we added a custom digital instrument cluster. We then upgraded the engine to an AR Performance Chevy 383 stroker motor with aluminum heads producing 505 hp. The radiator is cooled by an electric fan. Headers and flowmaster exhaust were installed with custom tips. The transmission in a 350 automatic with a shift kit and 2000 rpm stall-speed converter. We also added an additional transmission cooler. Brand new 18 inch tires and rims were installed, 8 inch front, 10 inch rear. The car has been lowered 2 inches in the front. This car is an absolute pleasure to drive, extremely dependable and desirable.

Watch a 2015 Corvette Z06 run the quarter in 11.7 seconds

Sun, Dec 28 2014

We're not writing about this because it's an amazing run, we're writing about it because it appears to be the first run. Someone took a 2015 Corvette Z06 to Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas and blasted it down through the quarter mile. It's still wearing the dealer number in wax pen on the windshield and dealer plates, so this example is fresh from the mold. It's also a seven-speed manual. General Motors said the row-your-own Z06 can do the 'strip in 11.2 seconds, and they undoubtedly had a professional driver and more than one run to set that time. To have Just Some Guy show up at the raceway and do an 11.7 at 120.54 mph on his first run means we expect good things to come as Z06s get delivered to their owners. Check out the run in the video.

GM Halts Sale Of Most Chevy Cruze Models

Fri, Mar 28 2014

General Motors has told dealers to stop selling some 2013 and 2014 Chevrolet Cruze compact cars. But the company won't say why. Dealers say stop-sale orders are routine and almost always made to fix a safety problem. They received the order in an e-mail Thursday, but no reason was given. The move comes as GM deals with fallout from a delayed recall of 1.6 million older small cars to fix an ignition switch problem. The company says the switches can slip out of the run position and shut down the engine. That causes loss of power steering and brakes and disables air bags. GM says the problem has been linked to 31 crashes and at least a dozen deaths. Spokesman Greg Martin says he has no details on the Cruze. GM learning from current Chevy Volt owners as it works on next-gen model

Tue, Sep 16 2014

Details of the second-generation Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in hybrid are coming in at a trickle, and the latest is that the 2016 model-year Volt will be improved in all meaningful areas, including performance and all-electric range, says General Motors powertrain director Larry Nitz. 60 percent of Volt customers only charge using a standard 110 outlet. Nitz was speaking to Autoline After Hours about the current and future Volt. He said that GM has been tracking Volt driving habits and found that about two-thirds of the Volts' collective miles are driven in electric mode, and that 81 percent of all Volt trips were done in pure EV mode. Additionally, Volt drivers plug the car in 10 times each week, on average. Nitz also said 82 percent of the Volt's commuting miles are coming from the plug instead of the gas tank. Oh, and 60 percent of Volt customers only charge using a standard 110 outlet. Last month, GM released a teaser shot of the 2016 Volt (above) and said the car would make its worldwide debut at the 2015 North American International Auto Show next January. Earlier this year, the Volt was reported to be getting a new chassis for the upcoming version. The Volt could use a bit of new life. Through August, Volt sales were down 12 percent from a year earlier to 13,146 units, and sales plunged 25 percent alone. That compares unfavorably to the Nissan Leaf battery-electric vehicle, whose 2014 sales have jumped 34 percent to almost 19,000 units. You can see Nitz dish the goods in the video below (Volt comments start at around minute 15). You will also notice AutoblogGreen contributor Gary Witzenburg talk about his history with the EV1 and share his take on the Volt. This content is hosted by a third party.
