You're looking at a beautiful dark blue 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. It has low miles, with right at 10,000 miles per year. It is garage kept, and has ZERO smoke smell! It has been well maintained, regular oil changes, and fluid checks. It does not leak ANYTHING. In the past three years, we have replaced the power steering pump, the water pump, brakes and rotors, spark plugs and wires, and have had zero issues otherwise. Runs, drives, and looks great. All of the tires are in good shape. Two of the tires have less than 3000 miles on them, and two of them are probably at about 50%. The interior is clean with no smells, or visible stains. No cracks in the dash, no tears in the seats.

There is a "Service Vehicle Soon" light on. It is NOT a check engine light. It will pass emissions test. I took it to the dealership, and had it diagnosed. They told me that there was a bad "ambient light sensor", and a bad "passlock sensor". I replaced the $15 ambient light sensor (which is the sensor that turns the headlights on at night automatically) so that one is taken care of. The passlock sensor is easy to replace, but GM told me that they consistently have issues with them, and that it may be beneficial to bypass it. The passlock is a security feature that will disable the car when the alarm is going off, but this model is not equipped with an alarm, so it is pointless to have a passlock sensor!! I don't get these car manufacturers sometimes! Anyway, long story short, I decided to let the next owner decide if they wanted to bypass or get a new passlock sensor. Either way would be around $200 at a local mechanic shop. If you're mechanically inclined, you can bypass it yourself in a couple hours. Just search online for a tutorial. Or you can replace it. The part on partsgeek.com is $83, and it is as easy as changing an ignition switch as it is part of the ignition switch.

Again, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with the way this car runs or drives. The only reason why we are selling this car is because we need something larger. You will be hard pressed to find another one in this good of shape at this age. I hope you like it as much as my wife and I have. I am confident that you will be happy with it.

Payment: $1000 Pay Pal deposit within 48 hours. Final payment due IN PERSON/IN CASH within 7 days. If you need it delivered, ask us. We might be able to get it to you cheaper that you can have it shipped by a shipping company.

Chevrolet Captiva looks mildly refreshed and ready for family duty

Tue, 05 Mar 2013

We showed you Chevrolet's major debut yesterday, the 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible, but General Motors is making a big push for Bowtie consideration in Europe, so it's also introducing the updated Captiva crossover here at the Geneva Motor Show.
While still based on the same platform as North America's fleet-only Captiva Sport (which is effectively a rebadged Saturn Vue), the Captiva is available in both five- and seven-seat iterations, and it looks far more modern. That's particularly the case with this updated model, which features revamped front- and rear ends that include restyled bumpers, grilles and LED taillamps, among other changes.
As before, the midsize Theta-platform CUV will be available in both front- and all-wheel drive, and is expected to carry a range of four- and six-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines. Important US programming note: Chevrolet sources tell us that America's Captiva Sport will not receive these updates.

Michael Jordan's cars showcased in 'The Last Dance' documentary

Sun, May 10 2020

After the masses begged and pleaded for an early release, ESPN finally unlocked the doors to the biggest production in company history last month. Episodes 1 and 2 of The Last Dance, a 10-part documentary special about Michael Jordan, the Chicago Bulls, and the 1997-1998 season, was released at last on April 19, 2020. Each week since, two new episodes have aired on Sunday nights, and the next two, episodes 7 and 8 are scheduled to drop this weekend on May 10. With unprecedented video access to MJ, who became averse to the media during his playing days, a byproduct from The Last Dance is a look at some of Jordan's cars. The Goat's taste ranges across a number of brands, but they all had one thing in common: performance as a top priority. Below, we have listed the rides that have already appeared in the series, and each week, we will update with new car cameos. Chevrolet Corvette C4 The photo above somewhat epitomizes one of the themes of The Last Dance. Everybody, whether that was men, women, children, franchise owners, reporters, coaches, teammates, or opponents, wanted a piece of Jordan. If that meant stopping in the middle of the road to get an autograph, then so be it. Around town, MJ was fairly easy to spot due to his flashy cars that occasionally wore Bulls red. Jordan has driven numerous Corvettes throughout the years, but the C4 is unique in that it was Chevy's top ride when Jordan signed an endorsement deal with the American company during his rookie year in 1984. Two famous photos, one in front of the Chicago skyline, show him standing next to a C4 with the license plate "Jump 23." This exact car, however, came later, as indicated by the squared-off taillights. He went on to star in a number of Chevrolet commercials with vehicles such as the Blazer and S-10 pickup truck. Chevrolet Corvette C5 The most notable Corvette His Airness ever owned was likely the C4 40th Anniversary ZR-1, but he also drove a C5 coupe at one point. Roughly nine minutes into the first episode, Jordan is seen driving the chrome-wheeled targa top into the parking lot at the Berto Center, the Bulls old practice facility.   Ferrari 550 Maranello Roughly three minutes into episode four, viewers get a glimpse of Jordan's exotic taste in the form of a red Ferrari 550 Maranello.

Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?
