2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Ss Coupe 2-door 3.8l on 2040-cars

Year:2002 Mileage:217000
Location:

Byfield, Massachusetts, United States

Byfield, Massachusetts, United States

For you consideration, a 2 female owner 2002 Monte Carlo SS in triple black. 217,000 highway miles and driven daily. Car has been well maintained and runs mint. Book value with mileage is $2700. My wife bought this car with 49k miles on it of the showroom floor of Woodworth Cadillac where it was traded in by its previous female owner. The mileage reflects daily commute to Wellington T stop and Boston...Saks 5th Avenue to be specific. It runs and stops Excellent and I would not hesitate driving it to California and back tomorrow.

Over the past couple of years I have performed several parts replacements besides the standard oil changes and brake services. All brake services included pads AND rotors. Most recently...within 100 miles...passenger ball joint and tie rod end and drivers rear hub assembly. All 4 hub assemblies have been replaced now. Brakes are within 5k miles. Catalytic converter replaced with Magnaflo high flo. Entire upper intake gasket system replaced. Injector o-rings replaced. TPS replaced. All coil packs replaced. EGR replaced. Downstream O2 sensor replaced. Water pump replaced along with thermostat, and associated hoses. Wiper motor replaced. Headlight assemblies replaced due to failed seals. Headlight switch replaced. Hazard switch replaced. Window master switch assembly replaced. Recent front tires and good rears.

Car is triple black and fully loaded. Tinted windows...factory. Black heated power lumbar leather. Onstar. Keyless entry with fob. Dual climate control. Intermittent wipers. Home link. Auto dimming mirror. Cruise. Steering wheel controls. Bose CD/Cassette with auto volume level...it automatically increases and decrease in volume with vehicle speed. Massive sunroof. Rear spoiler. Chrome rims.

The car is not perfect. Issues I know of have to due with the front passenger ABS sensor. Somehow the wire was ripped out of the sensor and it has tripped the ABS light, Brake light and Traction Control. This in no way effects the driveablity of the car and it passes inspection with flying colors. The wire assembly will need replacing along with a new hub assembly as the sensor is embedded in it. The hub assembly is completely fine and virtually new which is why I have chosen not to put Another new one in. The other issue is cosmetics. Over the years it has been scratched here and there. Good from 10 feet but a Perfect candidate for a $400 Maco job. Seriously...no major dents or smashes. Just an occasional brush with a pole or two in the parking garage.

I am asking $2002.00. I will ONLY accept phone calls to 978-417-9466. Texts and emails will be deleted . Serious inquiries only. Payment discussed at auction close as certain words are not allowed to be used. If you want to come see it you are more than welcome to.

You will Not be disappointed.

Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th

Tue, 15 Apr 2014

It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.

Read This: Auto Extremist advocates for Corvette as brand with multiple models [w/poll]

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette really grinds Peter De Lorenzo's gears. Or, more accurately, the self-anointed Auto Extremist has an issue with what he sees as mismanagement of the legendary sports car by General Motors executives. In a new editorial on his website, De Lorenzo argues it's time to split Corvette off from Chevrolet to create an all-new brand, complete with a model range with at least three new takes on the sports car. Capable of fully leveraging the successes of the Corvette Racing program and brandishing the full might of GM's technical prowess, the Corvette brand would theoretically give Porsche something to sweat over.
Sure, that sounds like a party, but given GM's troubled track record when it comes to launching (let alone managing) brands, we say that's slippery slope that could just as easily end with the whole Corvette franchise in the scrap bin. Either way, the notion is certainly an interesting one. Head over to Auto Extremist to take in the full editorial, and then let us know what you think in Comments. Should GM split off its most storied nameplate?

General Motors shaking up its marketing... again

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

One of the things that dogs the full comeback of General Motors is the instability of its marketing. That part of the automaker got yet another big shakeup today when GM confirmed what I have been tweeting for a few days - strong rumors that the Chevrolet and Cadillac ad accounts are walking to new ad agencies.
Cadillac, GM's luxury brand, is going into review from Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis and the indications are that Campbell-Ewald, Chevy's old ad shop, will end up with most or all of it. C-E just announced that it was moving from its long-time home in Warren, MI to a new downtown Detroit office next to Ford Field, just blocks from GM.
The other shoe to drop shortly will be the shift of GM's most important brand, Chevy, from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco to McCann-Erickson of Troy, MI. McCann used to be the agency for Buick and GMC, as well as GM's corporate advertising, and has retained some pieces of business over the last few years. Sources have even told us that it was McCann that did a lot of the creative work on Chevy's new ad platform, Find New Roads. (Not to be confused with a former McCann tagline for Saab, "Find Your Own Road.")
