1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo - #3 Dale Earnhardt Nascar Stock Car Clone on 2040-cars

Year:1995 Mileage:180570
Location:

This is a very special 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo 2dr coupe.  The story that was told us from the previous owners is that the original 1st owner contacted Dale Earnhardt Incorporated and worked out a deal to make the car a clone of the actual NASCAR car that Dale was driving.  The car was brought to DEI and they professionally applied all of the decals on it to make it look like Dale's car.  This car was on the Hot Rod Power Tour from 2009-2012, and was also at the Kansas Speedway for various events.

Here are the specs:  1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo LS 2dr coupe.  3.1L V6 engine, automatic transmission. Current mileage is at 180,570, but it may vary by a few miles as it is moved around the lot.  The car starts and runs as it should, but the exhaust is smoky, and the engine has a miss.  The graphics are faded/peeling/cracking.  The paint is decent but is fading also.  There are various dings throughout, but overall the body is in decent shape for an almost 20 year old vehicle.  It has aftermarket black wheels with Goodyear Eagle tires that are in good shape.

The interior is decent. There are no major rips/holes/tears, but there is some staining on the floorboards and in the back seat.  The front bucket seats have seat covers that are in good shape, and the upholstery under those covers is in good shape.  It has an aftermarket Pioneer CD player installed, and comes with the remote control.

Overall this car is in decent shape for the age.  It will need some engine work.  A simple swap would probably be the easiest fix.  But you will definitely turn heads with NASCAR fans with the custom graphics on this car.

This vehicle is a project car.  It needs work to be 100% operational.  It is being sold with the understanding of this.  However, the state of Kansas does not allow dealers to sell cars "AS IS".  Some sort of warranty must be provided.

To cover our end of the deal on this, we are providing a 12 month, 12,000 mile warranty on this vehicle.  Any warranty work will have to be performed at our repair facility in Wichita, KS.  Our Warranty will cover 10% of the parts and labor for the repairs.  You, the buyer, will be responsible for the other 90% of the cost of parts and labor, and will be responsible for transporting the vehicle to and from the repair facility.  We understand that for most buyers, this is not something that you will take advantage of, especially if you don't live in Wichita, KS.  However, most project cars you buy will not have a warranty whatsoever.  We are simply offering this Warranty to satisfy our obligation with the state of Kansas.

Star Wars Car Drives To The Dark Side Of Comic Con

Tue, Jul 22 2014

When it comes to designing coveted collectible toys for sale at Comic-Con, the annual celebration of pop culture lifting off Thursday in San Diego, the sky's the limit for the designers at Mattel. Fittingly, the building where Mattel's dreamers conceive of their limited-edition playthings is just down the street from the Los Angeles International Airport. Inside the colorful design center - a Hot Wheels-themed shuttle bus transports employees from Mattel's parking garage - the designers have spent the past year working on 10 toys created especially for the Comic-Con crowd, including a replica of the Batmobile from the upcoming game "Batman: Arkham Knight" and a 9-inch-tall action figure of Superman killer Doomsday. "We don't have to worry about retail. We don't have to worry about margins," said Doug Wadleigh, Mattel's senior vice president of global brand marketing for boys and entertainment. "We don't have to worry about operational efficiencies. We only have to worry about creating the coolest toys for our fans. Period." It also offers some escape from Mattel's reality these days. Like other toy makers struggling in this digital, video-centric age, the company is trying to remain relevant in the retail world. Core brands like Barbie have seen less of a demand, with a 14 percent drop in sales in the first quarter of this year. Mattel had a net loss for the first three months ending March 31 that totaled $11.2 million. But things will at least seem rosier at Comic-Con, where eager buyers for the toys await (the only other place they will be sold is on the Mattel collector's site). Mattel's exclusives this year run between $20 and $85, but elite toys can fetch much more when they're put up for auction. The crown jewel for Wadleigh and his team this year is a Darth Vader die-cast car, the first official collaboration from Hot Wheels and the "Star Wars" franchise. The car - imagine if a Chevrolet Corvette C5 and the villainous Sith lord's helmet had a baby - comes in a sleek black box and encased in a replica of Vader's lightsaber, complete with a swooshing sound effect. "We've been trying to partner with Lucasfilm and Disney on this property for a long time," said Wadleigh. A full-size working replica of the Vadermobile will be on display at Mattel's booth at the massive San Diego Convention Center.

GM sweetens military discount for Buick, Chevy and GMC

Sun, 06 Oct 2013

American servicemen and women interested in a new vehicle from Chevrolet, Buick or GMC now have a bit more incentive to head down to their local dealer, as General Motors has announced plans to improve its military discount program.
The new GM Military Discount Program offers eligible consumers a new Chevy, Buick or GMC at invoice pricing, which in some cases can take very large chunks out of a car's retail price. When factored in with other incentives, most of which are available with the Military Discount, the bargains are thick on the ground for members of the US armed forces.
GM's Retail Sales and Marketing Support general manager, Chuck Thomson, said, "GM has long supported the military and military families, and we hope this simplified and enhanced discount will show our appreciation for their service and help make it easier for them to own one of our great new vehicles." The program is open to all active duty and reserve members in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard and Coast Guard, as well as veterans that have been out of the service for less than a year. Military retirees and their spouses are also eligible for the discount.

GM veteran Bryan Nesbitt tapped to head Buick design

Sat, Jun 6 2015

General Motors styling veteran Bryan Nesbitt (pictured above) took over a new role on Monday as executive director of global Buick design and global architectures. Andrew Smith, who previously did that job and also coordinated the look for Cadillac, has remained in charge of the pen at Caddy with this shift. Nesbitt rose to prominence when he designed the Chrysler PT Cruiser, according to Automotive News. He joined GM in 2001 and has been there ever since in multiple high-level roles. In 2007, he was appointed vice president of design for North America and was later briefly general manager of Cadillac in 2009-2010. Nesbitt took over as the vice president of GM's international operations design in China in 2011. This shuffle also moves Ken Parkinson, currently styling boss for Chevrolet trucks, to China as design vice president there. In addition, John Cafaro becomes the person in charge of the look for Chevy globally, rather than previously splitting that role between cars and trucks with Parkinson. GM Global Design Leadership Changes – effective June 1, 2015. Bryan Nesbitt, Design Vice President, GM China will repatriate to North America and assume the position of Executive Director, Global Buick and Global Architectures. He will be located in Warren, MI. Bryan will be the design Champion for Buick in the US and China. Ken Parkinson, Executive Director, Global Chevrolet Trucks and Global Architecture will assume the position of Design Vice President, GM China. He will be based in Shanghai, China. Andrew Smith, Executive Director, Global Cadillac and Buick Design will assume the position of Executive Director, Global Cadillac. He will continue to be the design Champion for the Cadillac brand. In addition, he will continue to lead the Global Color & Trim team. He will be based in Warren, Michigan. John Cafaro, Executive Director, Global Chevrolet Cars will assume the position of Executive Director, Global Chevrolet. He will be the design Champion for Chevrolet. In addition, John will lead the exterior components and accessories team. He will continue to be based in Warren, MI. The roles and responsibilities of Helen Emsley, Mark Adams, Carlos Barba, Clay Dean, Michael Simcoe, and Teckla Rhoades remain the same.
