She was born in Pontiac Michigan in 1987. This Chevy Monte carlo was was on the most sought after cars in the 80's era and still is today. This 2 owner car was always babied and garaged and is Rust Free with only 68,907 original miles. I bought the car from the second owners who owned it since 1991 they are 70 years old today and truly loved this car and were sad to see it go. It was always serviced. Never abused and taken to local car shows and enjoyed. The black cherry paint is beautiful and shines like new. They had the car completely repainted by the dealer due to the original paint has issues like most of them. It was done 9 years ago and still looks amazing today with a deep shine and very glossy. The Burgandy cloth interior is all original and looks as beautiful . The carpets are not faded , the headliner is in excellent condition, the Dash is perfect and the seats look amazing in every way. Inside the car you will find all the electronics to work perfectly.Ice cold AC hot heat, Power windows, power locks, cruise control, Original Delco sound system with Eq. This car has T-tops which makes it Rare. Many of them floating around do not have them and they do not leak. The 305 Engine is a monster and runs very strong . The engine has no leaks and starts right up. The transmission also shifts smooth and just had its fluids changed at 60 k miles.Suspension is very tight and has no noises whatsoever. We also just added new Dual Dyno Max mufflers which gives the car an awesome sound.  The car sits on American Racing wheels which they put on in 1991 when they bought the car. They are period correct and look amazing and sit on brand new tires. The Original wheels and center caps are in the trunk and in excellent Condition. There are a few of these cars around still today. But finding one that is original in every way is hard to find. These cars will only appreciate and become more collectible. If you are a enthusiast of the Monte carlo SS then this is the car for you. You can fly in and drive it home or have it shipped to your door either way you will be very happy. Please read my feedback as I take pride in selling great cars. I recently sold a 70 monte which was their car as well. They were fanatics and loved their cars. If you have any questions feel free to call me and I will be happy to answer them. I am pricing the car fair and Someone will get a great car. Steve 954-464-3515

GM takes heat for aborted Silverado riff on 'Boston Strong' at World Series

Thu, 31 Oct 2013

During game five of the World Series, Chevrolet was set to do a spot of marketing for the 2014 Silverado - fans at Busch Stadium in St. Louis would hold up placards that spelled out the words "Silverado Strong," a theme that Chevy has been promoting since the Silverado's launch with the song "Strong," by Will Hoge. The St. Louis promo was ultimately called off, though, over concerns that it'd be insensitive to the visiting Boston Red Sox. (You can see the image of what the stunt would have looked like above, courtesy of one timely Reddit user.)
Now, the Busch Stadium stunt might not have been a big deal, had the St. Louis Cardinals not been playing the Boston Red Sox. Following the tragic events in Boston during the marathon back in April, the phrase "Boston Strong" gained traction among the city's citizens, especially at sporting events. So, you can imagine that Chevy's appropriation of the phrase might not sit well with some fans.
The stunt was ultimately shelved after images of the signs went viral before the game, leading to a bit of a public backlash. Chevy spokesperson Michael Albano said of the promo that it was meant to show the brand's "commitment to baseball and its fans." But after the images went viral, the company "realized there was the possibility that we may offend some of the very fans we were trying to honor," Albano told Automotive News via email.

Race Recap: 2013 Twelve Hours of Sebring, cakewalk up front, grindfest out back [w/spoilers]

Tue, 19 Mar 2013

This year's 12 Hours of Sebring wasn't exactly a foregone conclusion because we're still talking about racing, and anything can happen when the speeds are as high as the adrenaline and the desire. But we're still talking about Audi bringing it's two top-spec racers - and its huge budget and its nearly neurotic attention to detail - to a race that it uses as a test bed for The 24 Hours of Le Mans and as a way to open the endurance racing season with a victory.
Besides, 12 hours is a long time, especially at Sebring, and things didn't go all Audi's way. On top of that, although it was a pretty quiet race, behind the Audis things got even grimier, with plenty of battles, plenty of mechanical issues, and the new BMW Z4 GTE and Viper GTS-R being race tested. Oh, and that brand new chromed-out DeltaWing...

Before Chevrolet's Redline, there was the Saturn Red Line

Thu, Feb 9 2017

While Chevy rolls out Redline special editions across more of the lineup at this year's Chicago Auto Show, we've been eating some 'member berries and started thinking about the last time GM used the term. Back in 2004, Saturn rolled out Red Line (two words) editions of the Ion and Vue. The lineup was joined by the Sky Red Line in 2007, and the second-generation Vue kept the tradition going in 2008. This was in the heady days of the mid-2000s, before the financial crisis and GM's bankruptcy reorganization that saw the end of Saturn. The press release headline for the 2008 Sky is now cringe-worthy: "Hot-selling Sky helps drive Saturn product renaissance." Performance lineups were the hot new thing, as automakers attempted to cash in on the tuner trend popularized by The Fast and the Furious. Chevy had SS models, Pontiac had GXP, and Saturn had Red Line. Across the Detroit Metro area, Dodge had a slew of SRT models, and Ford's Special Vehicle Team brought us the SVT Lightning pickup, the SVT Focus, and a smattering of hopped-up Mustangs. The performance cred of Red Line models varied from car to car. The Ion Red Line shared the same engine as the original Chevy Cobalt SS, a 205-horsepower supercharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, 65 hp more than stock. Car and Driver tested one with a 0-to-60-mph time of 6.1 seconds and said the Ion "tears down the wall that has separated enthusiasts from the Saturn brand for so long." The Vue Red Line, meanwhile, came with the same optional Honda-sourced 3.5-liter V6 you could get in the regular Vue, and added a stiffer, lower suspension, bigger wheels with more aggressive rubber, and recalibrated steering assist. When the Vue was redesigned for the 2008 model year, the Vue Red Line was a similar proposition. The engine was now from GM, and up 7 horsepower to 257, but you could get it in both Red Line and XE trim. Aside from the tire and suspension upgrades, Red Line models now came with a unique front fascia and rear exhaust cutouts. The most exciting Red Line, of course, was the high-performance version of the Sky roadster, which shared underpinnings with its Pontiac Solstice twin. This model came with GM's hot 2.0-liter Ecotec Turbo, good for 260 horsepower. The extra power was crucial in covering up the Sky's unfortunate manual gearbox ratios, which left the non-turbo model aching for torque in lower gears. As we all know, Saturn was taken by the grim reaper in 2009 after an attempt to sell the brand to the Penske Group.
