I am listing this vehicle for a family member who is no longer healthy enough to enjoy this car.
The car is as follows:
1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS with a built 383ci STROKER motor paired to an automatic transmission.
The car has just less than 2700 miles since the car was completed. Nearly the whole car was reworked within the last 5 years.
The car is recently painted black with gray interior. Both the interior and the exterior are in GREAT condition and neither can be reasonably faulted. The body is as straight as an arrow and the super slick black paint looks wet when dry.
The STROKER has aluminum heads and a full stainless exhaust. The motor is dressed in about $10,000 of polished aluminum. The STROKER sounds phenomenal and hits a very hard lick. It also makes a lot of power although the owner is unaware of just how much. An electric fan cools the motor.
The car sits on 17-inch Boyd Coddington wheels on near new Nitto NT450 tires. <---EXPENSIVE SET-UP, LOOKS EXPENSIVE TOO!
The interior features embroidered headrest, a new Alpine head unit, smooth shifting bump/ratchet shifter, and a few billet aluminum dress-ups. The Alpine head unit is synced with a new sound system with a subwoofer set-up that can be found in the trunk. The sound system sounds GREAT to go with the GREAT looks of the car.
This car has had nearly $40,000 invested in it in the past 5 years. This is the whole truth, not an exaggeration.
The car runs and drives perfectly. The car has no issues and it needs nothing but a new owner. The car holds a clean and clear title that is ready for transfer to the new owner. Cash or certified bank check will be accepted for payment for the car. The funds associated with the certified bank check must clear before the title or the car will leave our possession.
I have tried to provide a basic overview of the car and just how nice it is. I know that I have omitted some information so please feel free to contact my husband or my son at (270) 748-1882. They are knowledgeable of the car. We greatly appreciate your interest and happy bidding!

Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs
Thu, 03 Jan 2013General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum. Watch this time-lapse build of the Chevy SS for NASCAR
Fri, 08 Feb 2013There's only about a week left until we get our first look at the production version of the 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan, but Chevrolet NASCAR teams have been looking at the race version of the car all winter. Autoweek has posted a really neat time-lapse video showing just a portion of what it takes to build one of NASCAR's new Gen6 stock cars.
Though the video is quite brief, it does show almost the entire build process starting with just the car's nose, and it gives us a good look at how integral the template is to the final product. As a bonus, Hendrick Motorsports also provided some videos showing two of its teams performing pit stop tests over the winter. The second video shows some of the more detailed aspects of the racecar's rear end, including the stock-looking trunk cutout and a newly mandated rear bumper extension that will be used on super speedways like Daytona and Talladega.
To see what Team Chevy has been up to all off-season, check out all three videos posted after the jump.
GM takes heat for aborted Silverado riff on 'Boston Strong' at World Series
Thu, 31 Oct 2013During game five of the World Series, Chevrolet was set to do a spot of marketing for the 2014 Silverado - fans at Busch Stadium in St. Louis would hold up placards that spelled out the words "Silverado Strong," a theme that Chevy has been promoting since the Silverado's launch with the song "Strong," by Will Hoge. The St. Louis promo was ultimately called off, though, over concerns that it'd be insensitive to the visiting Boston Red Sox. (You can see the image of what the stunt would have looked like above, courtesy of one timely Reddit user.)
Now, the Busch Stadium stunt might not have been a big deal, had the St. Louis Cardinals not been playing the Boston Red Sox. Following the tragic events in Boston during the marathon back in April, the phrase "Boston Strong" gained traction among the city's citizens, especially at sporting events. So, you can imagine that Chevy's appropriation of the phrase might not sit well with some fans.
The stunt was ultimately shelved after images of the signs went viral before the game, leading to a bit of a public backlash. Chevy spokesperson Michael Albano said of the promo that it was meant to show the brand's "commitment to baseball and its fans." But after the images went viral, the company "realized there was the possibility that we may offend some of the very fans we were trying to honor," Albano told Automotive News via email.
